> No one would argue that Luke isn’t a Jedi Master
Luke himself would probably argue that he wasn't worthy of the title. He just took the title because he was the only one around who was in the position to start and lead a new Jedi Order. Secrets of the Jedi is a reference book written from his POV and it reveals that he always felt insecure about that title given that he didn't have all the knowledge/training opportunities previous Jedi had.
> By the old standards I don’t think they’d even let him train at the Temple.
The old standards, and everyone that upheld them, are dead. There are new standards set forth for what it meant to be a Jedi. Yoda "knighted" Luke so Luke was free to rewrite things how he saw fit.
I also like the change to young Anakin as well.
The Secrets of the Jedi book has something where Luke mentions having talked to Anakin. I don’t really recall what it says. That is the only example of Luke talking to ghosts in the new canon that I know of. I’m not sure if any ghosts spoke to Leia.

All of the existing Visual Dictionaries use images of props and promo shoots from the films—hence the “visual” part. Since that doesn’t exist for a novel/comic book-only setting (for now), this is more likely to be like the more recent Secrets of the Sith or the Essential Guide books with a lot of illustrations.
> How can I resolve this?
Assuming you're playing face-to-face, just decide which dictionary you're going to use before you start playing.
You can use an online dictionary, the printed Official Scrabble Player’s Dictionary, Sixth Edition, or The Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary if you want to.
You should check out the LEGO character encyclopedia. I know they have one for Star Wars and Ninjago but they might have more also. here

[Serious] have you ever flipped through those gif books? I saw a kid holding a book that showed perfect animations from Star Wars, it's impressive.
I found it: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Scanimation-Iconic-Scenes/dp/0761158464
I remember a cover of a kids book, something about a play these kids were putting on where the dog dies in the end so they change it. And on the cover was a german shepherd on it's back with it's stomach badly photoshopped to keep from showing it's dick. I didn't understand why they didn't just either- not censor or it, or just use a girl dog.
EDIT: This is the book
