Hoy en noticias que ojalá no hubieras sabido que existen: Sebastian Izquierdo sacará un trilogía (miren la biografía).
Hey there! I’m an indie author and I have a series of standalone books. Only one is out right now, but though each novel takes place in the same universe, and there are nods/easter eggs to each other, each book acts as a standalone and concludes in one book!
The first one is currently also free: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TVSSD2W
Top of your day! Take a look for 99cents at Penny Pennington; a novel about a penny's journey. A Lincoln Head in Montreal. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FQM2FH8
I'd like that. Thank you very much! Being my first book ever, I could use all the reviews and feedback I can get, in hopes that a second edition would be much improved. Thanks again. And thanks for your original post, the comments from you and everyone else have been very inspiring!
Arena by Karen Hancock. Like Chronicles of Narnia the story is an allegory of religion, but it's embedded deeply, so on the surface it reads like a light young adult book, somewhere between fantasy and realistic sci-fi.
The main character volunteers for a psychology experiment, and ends up getting put in another world, with little to no instructions on how to survive.
The heads of the statues are 6-8 feet tall. When mounted on their thrones (not in picture) they stand around 30 feet tall. Of course, there's a novel with Mt. Nemrut as the main setting: http://www.amazon.com/Something-Coming-Thriller-Book-ebook/dp/B003EYW282
The Circle Trillogy by Ted Dekker is an absolute must-read. Its not what I would call "high fantasy" (No elves or dwarves here) but it's superb fantasy none the less.
I have also really enjoyed the Myst trilogy. Ignore the fact that it's based of a video game. It's some of the best fiction i have read In a while.
My question is how does an author like myself -- not represented by an agent -- get material to writers who spec for TV? I'm willing to give my story to someone in the industry to write a pilot, but I have no contacts and would want to partner with a writer who is ethical. The odds against getting produced are long, I realize, but I'm willing to take the chance and share my material because otherwise the odds are zero.
Many readers have finished the novel and told me the story would make a terrific movie. Even better, it could be turned into a TV series for Syfy, HBO or USA Network. The premise: An ancient king returns to life in modern day fulfilling worldwide prophecies of the Second Coming ... and the Antichrist. "Left Behind meets Stephen King" is another way to describe it. With 2012 fast approaching, the general public will be itching for a story like this, with intrigue, prophecy, religious strife, ancient mysteries.... Know anyone with industry contacts who might be interested in rolling the dice?
Here's the self-published novel @Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Something-Coming-Thriller-Book-ebook/dp/B003EYW282
Thanks!
Wow, another reason why I love Reddit: I've needed to ask someone like you a few questions, and here's my shot. Thank you in advance!
To self-publish or seek an agent/publisher? I've been told that once a book is self-published, mainstream publishers won't touch it. What's your take?
Also, I'm a self-published author currently writing a manuscript about dream interpretation. Know anyone in the industry that might be interested?
Last question: My self-published novel has New Age subject matter that would easily attract readers or viewers interested in 2012 and all the change in the air. However, I submitted to a few dozen carefully targeted agents and received no interest. My window of opportunity to push the 2012 marketing angle is closing. If you have a minute, please take a look at the novel's listing on Amazon. Know anyone in the industry that might give it a read? I've been seeking interest in a TV or movie production, but that industry is very clubby, and beyond a few screenplays I penned for the practice I have no credits. But I did work as a journalist and have a history of publication. I'd be willing to GIVE the novel rights to an established producer/screenwriter, hoping that it pays off later.
