Seriously though, if you have a local game store, they've got them. Probably with unique designs or Pokemon themed art. Try to support local with this stuff whenever possible, as game stores are hurting a lot more than Jeff Bezos rn.
I have four generic mats https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D8K2J30/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought these to be able to spread out for other games, but I'll play double handed, and these lined up in a square give me ample space. I'd say that if you're playing one handed that one of the standard matts should be fine but otherwise it ain't gonna do it for you.
I use the monster playmat
tubes https://www.amazon.ca/Playmat-Tube-Monster-Protectors-Prism-shaped/dp/B008NEOE48
I have upwards of 24 playmats. I store them all upright in:

As for life expectancy….my oldest may is about 5 years old…and not showing any real sign of age. Keep them clean and protected, they’ll last a long time.
You need a soft mat! Something like this
I use this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GGBKOUI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VKDWPWKJJ27YHJWTPE01
I use a similar model mousepad for my office. I highly recommend them for either games or work. I still use an actual mousepad on top of it with a wrist protector cuz f carpal tunnel.
Or even better because they're thicker, use a playing card mat, something like this they're less expensive and again thicker.
The ships are 1.0.
This is the mat -- it's in virtually new condition:

Until you find a more reasonable price point, the custom playmats on Amazon here are pretty decent. They are thin, but the print quality is surprisingly good for the price.

I was thoroughly impressed with how mine turned out given that the picture I gave wasn’t great quality but check out the pictures they have in the comments from buyers there’s some really good examples there.
Yeah it’s on amazon here . It’s not great it’s honestly pretty bad photoshop but for 14 dollars I could not go without it. The material is actually pretty good though.
Okay, serious moment. Is that a blue eyes white dragon working mat? And if so, where may I purchase said mat? Lol!
Edit: Found It

Here ya go, my dude.
What I use when I DM is a game mat, it's like a thin mouse pad made for tcg games. Mine's from Yu-Gi-Oh. They roll well and quiet, plus you have the DM screen as protection for them to not start randomly rolling towards someone by accident.
You can official mats or custom made with random art or even have one ordered with some art of your own to make them more DND focused. The price range goes from 10 to 20 usually so it's an affordable option.

What's her favorite character? There may be a deckbox and sleeves with that character on it. Make sure to get small size.
Plus you may want to get a couple playmats. They typically run $20-25, but you can find some for less.
Here's one with Blue eyes for $12

I use the Monster branded tubes. They aren't the cheapest, but they aren't actually round, so they don't roll away, and can be stacked up reasonably well in a drawer.
Found at a FLGS. Any game store that would sell playmats probably also sells tubes. This one is nice because it's actually shaped like a rounded triangle, so it doesn't roll.
Here it is on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Playmat-Tube-Monster-Protectors-Prism-shaped/dp/B008NEOE48
Frankly I just use card mats as a extra large mouse pad. If you have a local card shop, it should be easy to pop in there and find a design that might strike your fancy.

Plain black, I know, but just to give you an idea what I'm talking about. Hope that helps!

This is what I use for some of my mats. Not exactly high end, but not cheap either. Doesn't roll. Fits larger and thicker mat too.
Amazon is a good choice. Inked Gaming has ones with custom art if you're into that.
look for 'game mat' which are used mainly for card games. they are much bigger and should handle the keyboard and mouse.
edit, also called 'play mat', for instance: http://www.amazon.com/HiddenSupplies-com-Zelda-Triforce-Playmat/dp/B00GGBKOUI/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1442416139&sr=8-16&keywords=game+mat
I just bought my first mat with some store credit a few weeks ago to match my standard deck, it's the new Chandra Origins mat.

Since you want a 3'x3' surface, I'd recommend looking at the official x-wing playmat. AFAIK, it's made of the same material as TCG playmats and should provide a pleasant surface.
I found an opaque one, which is not only cheaper, but also more to my taste.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I think you missed my point. Listing the $10.99 MSRP for the KMC sleeves is perfect. That's exactly the type of honest reporting that I'd hope to see. I never meant that you should list what third-parties are selling the same products for online.
With your custom-made supplies, things can get murkier. You listed very reasonable values for the notepads. For the playmats though, $35 is just really deviating from the norm and it makes the "total savings" on the packing slip feel like it's just a made-up number. Ultra Pro's playmats have MSRPs that range from $13 to $27. If you had used a number in that range no one would have said anything about the MSRP of the playmat.
They would probably still be talking about the glaring value difference between the two crates for January, though. Seriously, I don't get how that slipped past you guys.
