7.1 virtual surround is trash. Don't buy these. Not worth the price at all.
Get these. Better and cheaper.
I've bought 2 from this exact seller and other than the plain brown box clearly labeled "Recertified", I couldn't tell that these were not new.
Mic is removable. Great for gaming with good audio quality from the mic but just OK for music (not super clean sound separation and tend to lean on the bass side).
For the price, damn good.
I think this is the same one on Amazon, here for your comparison and user reviews
New copies are still being sold via Amazon, and for much cheaper no less.
Why run the risk with a private seller?
this is the Logitech G533 $150 headset. They connect through a proprietary Logitech USB dongle and charge with a micro USB. That's where the bad ends because these headphones are well priced, especially since they are often on sale, they have great sound quality, and the mic is amazing as well. They are very comfortable have a 15-meter range, have an auto shut-off feature along with on-ear volume control, and raising the MIC also mutes it. The G hub software is nice and you can also set different setting profiles for different games. The battery lasts me about 3 days or... 12-15 hours total.
I was using this amazon mic before with the m50x. It sounded terrible. Reports from my gaming friends say it sounds much better. The noise gate seems to work much better too, as they cant hear my wife typing across the room like they could with the old setup. I'll do some proper recording samples and see what I can hear - will report back!
It's like $25 on Amazon US. If you're on some other country the price may be different.
If you're looking for good audio with an attached microphone, this is definitely the one to get. If you don't need all the frills of the Cloud, the Cloud Core is only $59 on Amazon.
Alternatively, Cloud II has USB adapter for 7.1 audio and a better headband, definitely worth the price.
After going through almost half a dozen pairs of gaming headphones, I don't think I could go back after using the HyperX. It's comfortable, light, sounds amazing, and has a good microphone.
What a nice and detailed review. They're also available on Amazon if you don't want to wait for the eBay shipping from Asia. They're what I've been recommending people with Sennheisers or ATH M40x/50x
PS. Your voice is quite soothing.
Check this one out. Amazon link.
>nice to block out the wife when gaming lol
Sounds like you're digging your own grave :P
I'd recommend trying out the ATH M40x. It's a great value headphone and whilst soundstage isnt exactly wide with default pads (many people replace them for Brainwavz HM5 pads which are not cheap), they isolate well and sound great. Don't be afraid to take advantage of Amazon Warehouse deals for a lower price(usually $60-70 in excellent condition) but will need to be quick since they're a popular product.
As for the mic, they're direct plug and play with this boom mic.
I would recommend open back headphones for home use. Open back headphones that leak sound out won't leak enough sound to disturb people in a room next to you. If you want an idea of how much leak there is, a regular closed back headphone on normal volume on a desk is about how much sound is directed out which means people in the same room can hear a little.
This is about how much I paid to import in my SH9500 off Amazon a while back (around $120 AUD total at the time). Compatible with a V-MODA Boom Pro.
There are some Sennheiser HD558 on eBay sometimes for decent prices. Compatible with a boom mic such as this (think it's sold on eBay as well).
All that might seem really complicated and it might just be easier to buy something like the HyperX Cloud series of headphones which would get the job done well and aren't too bad for a gaming headset.
The HyperX Cloud Core is also on sale for $59.99+tax on Amazon as well. I just got myself a pair and they're pretty nice.
I bought my logitech G533 for $100 from best buy a couple months ago. From doing research, some review websites and YouTube videos say they are better than the steelseries arctis 7. I wear glasses and they are comfortable over long periods. Also they are better than the G933.
They are on sale for $70 on Best Buy and Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXE0FKC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.6COzbDGN8PPG
There's always a debate for "proper" headset and a separate mic. What it comes to gaming headsets I don't know much about void or stinger, but at about the same price point lies HyperX Cloud Cores. For my money the most comfortable ones and the sound is pretty good though it may lack a bit of bass.
I have a feeling you might not have access to amazon so try searching HyperX Cloud Core or HyperX Cloud II. Maybe even HyperX Cloud Stinger
I am very particular with my accessories and headsets and my SO managed to buy me (after much research) a very decent gaming headset last Christmas.
It is called Kingston HyperX Cloud Core, Amazon.ca link, currently none available. They have many models but this is the one I have and it works great on both PC and PS4. It comes with a cable extender for PC that splits into separate speaker / mic 3.5mm ends while the main cord has both speaker/mic in the same 3.5mm for PS4. It might be a snug fit for the large headed but for me with an average sized noggen it is quite comfortable. It isn't sound cancelling or isolating but it blocks a lot of sound out from having a good snug fit. The sound is pretty good too. No enhanced bass or anything and I am not using a DAC but it would be comparable to other similar brands in the price range.
It looks to be unavailable on Amazon but if you can track one down at Best Buy or elsewhere I can highly recommend it.
If you have a PS3, pick up Metal Gear Solid: Legacy Edition for around $32. In one box you get:
Cannot play the PS3 games on your vita unfortunately. I'd love if they have you vita cross buys with it, but they don't.
And when you're done, sell it used to recoop some cost.
Yeah, Sony really wanted people to commit to getting proprietary accessories.
Here's the Pulse headset. I think there was also a "gold" headset... it was black in colour, the "gold" was just the model name.
Get the legacy collection on disc, and you can get every game in the series up to MGS 4. 2,3, and Peacewalker also get graphics and performance upgrades. Here’s a link to the Amazon page https://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Legacy-Collection-Playstation/dp/B00KTZELMY/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1W1QI6CAHWLE3&keywords=metal+gear+solid+legacy+collection&qid=1667402822&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIzLjEwIiwicXNhIjoiMS45NiIsInFzcCI6IjEuNjgifQ%...
I'm saying "more people" are an extremely little minority at this point.
If they had no interest in playing these games over the past 2 decades, it's very unlikely to change.
Not to mention you can still buy NEW physical copies for $25 that has the whole series. So it really is a non issue.
Think my first gaming headset was a fatal1ty headset and it was like 19 dollars . Such a great headset for the price at the time.
Made an upgrade eventually to the black ops 2 by triton
And then I tried my first attempt at, what I thought would be, a really nice headset for both music and gaming. Think it was called a Medusa 7.1 headset and then I stopped buying headsets when I got a standalone mic. Crazy I remember those but can't remember some of my nicer headphones
Don’t know how much this cost you but it’s still available on disc new for a very reasonable price.

No one has said I sound bad on discord so I assume the mic sounds good.
I dont use the 7.1 on it but just rocking reg setting I think it sounds good. Battery life for me, on a full charge, is over 8 hours for me easy. Couldnt really tell ya how long it takes to charge as Ill charge it over night or when I go to work.
Metal gear is a must. Get the metal gear collection. There are two available get the one that has all of them including MGS4.

I have external speakers plugged into the green port on the back and then my headphones plugged into the front and I just use the playback device pop up on the taskbar to switch back and forth.
You can get something like this or this if you want to just plug it into one port.

Had these for years and I still use em today. I’ve even replaced the battery once to keep on using them. Not issues otherwise. Battery died purely from use over time/recharge cycles. Won’t say they’re the best but I like them better than my Razer Tiamat V2’s.

> If you have a PS3 I would def suggest you pick up the HD collection.
I would suggest the Legacy Collection instead. With it, you get the HD collection, MGS4, digital codes for MGS1 and MGS:VRM, and the Digital Graphic Novels for MGS1 and MGS2.
I have actually used logitech headsets for years due to be very happy with the quality as well as sound. Now some audiophiles may shame them, but for an average Joe use they are worth their weight in gold. These are the most recent ones I bought. Might I also suggest getting a magnetized charging cable so the charging port doesn't get damaged over time do to in/out of the USB cable.
