I just ran into the same thing last week where the antennas appeared to be chewed up by birds. I ordered two of these, have yet to install them but can report back on the performance once I do.
Sounds good, that's what I assumed but just wanted to make sure here. Found a few of these on Amazon I'll probably pick up. Had a hard time finding any outdoor specific antennas. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N3RVQRF/
Prior to switching to Eero, I tried a single unit in the basement with Open-WRT, crazy long antennas. I even used a DIY aluminum foil reflector setup. Nothing worked as well as Eero.
Here are examples of what I find when I search. One claims 300ft, and the other 4miles. If it was this easy, you’d think everyone would be using them.
300 ft unit
UFL/IPEX to RP-SMA Female MHF4. You need a short one, like this one at 2in.
A long range usb wireless adapter or wireless usb adapter with a directional antenna will let you connect through 2-3 more walls than your built in wireless for your laptop. I'm not aware of a phone option.
You'll also want a usb cable and some way to mount/attach the wireless adapter as it will need to be pointed towards the router. I'd suggest watching some videos where people explain how to optimize your signal strength.
I have used both of these in the past. The directional antenna worked a little better than the dual antenna, but the adapter I used it on ended up breaking and was difficult to position.

Grrr. If i buy a 2,000 foot ethernet cable, can you run it to northeast for me? I got one of these guys pointing directly at the router (it's in my room). Signal still is awful, since it ques your packets.
Try a signal booster, like this 2-watt indoor/outdoor one. Hopefully that will be able to boost the signal enough so that the connection won't be as susceptible to subtle changes in location or position.
Get something like this 2-watt wireless signal booster, and mount it roughly midway between the router and the other computer. Also mount it relatively high off the floor to avoid much of the clutter (furniture, boxes, whatever) that would reduce the signal strength.
pringles can was a joke. It didn't work, it was fake.
There is however a type of yagi that is in a plastic tube that looks like a pringles can but it is not the cantenna that was on youtube.
that is all.
