Well then don't buy Alphas..? When we say buy used, we don't mean from websites. We mean ad listings on Craigslist. You should get cymbals for less than half of the original price.
I got an AA 21 Dry Ride for 110 and AA medium hats for 120. They retail for 300 for the hats and 250 for the ride in Canada. So you're saying I'm not saving money?
Alphas aren't even pro level cymbals. Don't waste your money trying to find used Alpha cymbals on websites when you can be buying fantastic cymbals that will last a lifetime for less the money.
http://www.craigslist.ca/about/sites is your friend, use it.
If you can't comprehend that you can save money buying used, and you're set on buying new, get the Benny set. http://www.amazon.com/Meinl-Byzance-Vintage-Benny-Cymbal/dp/B008KER1GY/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1441837890&sr=8-7&keywords=meinl+benny Incredible value. You'll be able to get them cheaper used.
Gah, you've got me really wanting the Dream Bliss 22" Ride AND a separate 17" Crash, because I don't really like the crash/ride as much as the 2 separate ones, but if I get those plus the bliss hi-hat, https://imgur.com/zK6io6v I go way over budget, and I might as well go for the Meinl Classics Custom set ( https://www.amazon.com/Meinl-Cymbals-CC-141620-18-Classics/dp/B00503NEPU ) where I can get a free extra crash cymbal too
What about this one? It says AAX on the picture and it's not a bad price. Is this a decent cymbal.
I personally haven't tried the hats, and the rides are a bit heavy for my taste, but the crashes are excellent. Super cheap and they sound great. They even make a great EFX knockoff.
If I had to guess, I would think it's a Meinl HCS 16" Medium Crash that has had the HCS scrubbed off. If it's not a HCS, then it's likely from the MCS line.

HCS - $52 brand new.

MCS - $77 brand new.
It's a bit over $100, but I would recommend the 16" Sabian XS20 medium-thin crash. It has a pretty decent sound for a relatively cheap price. So far, mine has lasted me over two years with no signs of cracking. You can listen to recordings of the cymbal on Sabian's website. Good luck :)
