Pattern is taken from this book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crocheted-Sea-Creatures-Collection-Knitted/dp/1861087578 I only added a zipper to the mouth in order to close it
Hi guys! Quick update for all those wanting the pattern. It's on page 108 of Crocheted sea creatures by Vanessa Mooncie.
Crocheted Sea Creatures: A Collection of Marine Mates to Make (Knitted)
Any further questions feel free to dm me & I'll pass them onto my mum as I have no clue how to crochet. Thanks for all the nice words, it's been nice seeing her smile at everyone.
Thank you very much 😊 The unicorn is from this book - Animal Friends of Pica Pau by Yan Schenkel
I went googling and geeked out (and may have also squee'd) when I saw these.
Also check out the Edwards Menagerie and Crochet ever after in Amazon.
according to your introduction, you like to crochet! i’m getting into crocheting, too! i think you might like a cute critter crocheting book since you love animals, too! it’s also on sale, YAY FOR SALES!

I used the Star Wars kits myself but Ravelry has a ton... otherwise Star Wars Crochet (Crochet Kits) https://www.amazon.com/dp/1626863261/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ArtRBbZPV2B7C
But you can get it around 15 with some looking
I overestimated how transferrable my knitting skills are, and I was using a different hook size, so this was uh. hard. too many frogs were involved. there were so many points when i was thinking, “yeah, i’m never crocheting again” LOL. but it was definitely worth it and now i love crocheting! the top’s cozy and the colors look amazing :’) my photos don’t do it justice, but I think I’ll style it with a white tank & wide leg pants
this was my second crochet project — my first was a mini Spidey (last pic) from a Marvel superhero crochet kit my brother gave me. it was pretty easy to follow, so I would recommend it for holiday gifts! it just doesn’t come with a whole lot of yarn.
ANYWAY, pattern was from cutiekittycrochet on YT, and the yarn was Brujeria Lana’s Watermelon Jelly in Heathen Squish DK (her store’s closed right now). I used less than 1 skein, so that was suuuper satisfying. I’m thinkin of making matching earrings
Pattern was from the Pokemon Crochet book https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pok%C3%A9mon-Crochet-favourite-crochet-patterns/dp/1446308332 however I modified the tail.
Yarn used is Cygnet Scrumpilicious which be warned sheds a lot although is beautifully soft. Hopefully she does not fall apart. 6mm hook used.
Eyes are also crocheted: free handed oval with chain embroidered brown iris. Size 2(lace) weight yarn with 2mm hook.
I basically just went cover to cover through a book called the Crochet Stitch Dictionary. Took about a year.
If anyone wants a closeup of any square/pattern, lmk and I can take a pic! 😊
1st ever crochet project - I like a challenge! Decided to make this for Halloween back in Sept but it took me so long I've just finished it this evening. Ah well, still brings me great joy!
Whimsical Stitches: A Modern... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1944515631?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share.
I used a variety of patterns from the linked book to make the shape (an aubergine, pot bottom and part of a cactus!) and had to figure out how to do it as I went.
This was written in 2006. The term has been around awhile! I am kind of amazed that people have been upset by this!
It's from the book "Animal friends of Pica Pau". It's pretty cheap considering how many patterns it contains, can't recommend it enough, honestly, she uses some interesting techniques and the finished pieces always look so good. I'm not usually one to buy pattern books because I rarely like all the patterns but I not only loved every pattern in this book but the second book also and I've my eye on the third book which was recently released too, they're brilliant!

Eyes and cheeks just simple circles and ovals stitch to the head as opposed to felt detailed in pattern.
Oh they are from books. I really recommend them. Here’s the first book,

I don’t have a list, but when I was learning I got the Crochet Stitch Dictionary by Sarah Hazell and it was tremendously helpful! It has photos, written instructions, and charts of a ton of stitches of varying difficultly! I still flip through it when I can’t choose a stitch for a project. It starts with the basics like chain, single, half double, etc, so it helps when you’re just starting (or getting back into)
Here’s a link to it on Amazon Canada. I’m not sure of its availability outside of Canada, sorry!
Good luck! I’m sure your mother will love whatever you make! Wishing her a speedy recovery!

I actually saw it randomly at Michaels and bought it there but I found this link for it on Amazon.
Pattern from Crochet Cute Critters
It was a request from my mum for her friend who is due to have a baby soon. Mum provided the yarn so it's from her stash somewhere. I used a 3.5mm hook instead of the 5mm the pattern calls for and worked in a continuous rounds rather than joining them like the pattern said.
I love him 😄
Wow I love this set! Where did you buy it?? And as for Amigurumi I am relatively new at it but i bought a book on Amazon that was beginner friendly and covers the basics of Amigurumi. [Amigurumi Book](www.amazon.com/dp/1641522305/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_ASK6MNYJZV3EXCMEPSER?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)

Pattern from this book. I used I Love This Yarn in red, yellow, and Desert Glaze.
I’m not sure if the pattern is available online. I used a pattern from a book a friend got me!
Golden dubloons were not part of the pattern but I made him from a pattern in this book from amazon: Unicorns, Dragons and More Fantasy Amigurumi: Bring 14 Magical Characters to Life! I would recommend starting with a basic stitch book like this one: Crochet Stitch Dictionary: 200 Essential Stitches with Step-by-Step Photos https://www.amazon.com/dp/1620331292/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_2TJN0ZHEJ0PWEYH4WJ1Q
Don't get her a "beginners kit" with Disney characters and such, I see posts about those kits again and again on this sub about how difficult they are for beginners. I recommend that beginner crocheters start with flat, square projects like dish cloths and scarves. Amigurumi dolls are way more advanced than those types of projects.
Yes sorry post last fell asleep. Crochet Cute Critters: 26 Easy Amigurumi Patterns https://www.amazon.com/dp/1641522305/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_385APSK70C3JEYZW0TD6 This is one of my favorite books to use to make Animals. I always change up the design a bit for face detail but try to keep everything close to the pattern
No problem! Here's a book to look at.
