Pam is a cooking spray, now that I think it through it wouldn't work for your purpose. Try food-colour spray, I bet it would do the trick. Comes in any colour you want, even sparkles, and it's ethanol-based so the solvent will just evaporate without diluting the tabs or wicking acid from the tab which might happen if you use a brush. If you try it out, let us know how it goes!

Actually it was just the Wilton Gold Color Mist. I recommend waiting till the cookies have fully cooled, and using a light touch, because they were a little chewier than they are supposed to be.
