Not quite a custom base, but i found THIS on amazon and immediately bought it for ed. I figure it'll make for great pictures, especially since it can change colors. Thought you'd be interested.

You could use mini easels, or you could use something like this. I think it looks better with the display stands (1), but it obviously depends on what kind of aesthetics you're going for.

Another way maybe use something like this to provide the light source and make holes for it to shine through or use fibre optic cable: https://www.amazon.com/Display-Crystals-Colorful-Rotating-Crystal/dp/B07HH37NQW if you could find one with a IR remote.

What I use is this: Display Stand

It's plugin, very simple, only 1 speed, 2 directions, and fairly cheap. The only downside with mine and a few others is that after a while it creates a sound like the gears are struggling. I also bought a longer cord because the one it comes with is short. Mine still works just fine after 6 months, just beware that noise may occur.

I found some other domes that are shaped more round like, but they are either too small or too large. Regardless, good luck on your display! :) I know it's hard to pick out one that fits what you are looking for, I took a while myself.
