Check out the Snuggle Safe Pet Heating Pad on Amazon. I've a pair of senior cats and when it turns winter in the Midwest, they regularly sleep on these. Work great because you don't have to worry about fires or keep something plugged in - head in the microwave for a few minutes, and they stay warm for hours. About the size of a plate.
My parents have some ferals they built an outdoor shelter for with straw. I was thinking about this one K&H Manufacturing Lectro-Soft Heated Outdoor Bed, 14X18-Inch, Small, 20 Watts https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000ICGJZK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_beL.Db33H357B
I don't think it's pressure sensor though. I like the idea of that better. Do you recommend any?
Can also get a microwavable pad to put under cat beds on amazon. My elder statesman loves his.
Gotta love Amazon order history. Does make it easy to find something you've already bought:
Sorry, meant to add the deets. It’s a “chuckit!” travel dog bed from amazon. So far, she likes it. Rolls up like a small sleeping bag and includes a stuff sack, has a fair amount of cushion. They only had 1 size but it’s large enough for my 65lb boxer.
I mainly bought this for our hikes or when we go fishing. Bean is 11 years old and has some hip issues. It’s a nice little cushion to bring along on day hikes or camping trips for diva dogs that like to relax in style.

I also recommend this bed, it rolls up small and you can set it out by the fire or in the tent, it also washes up really well.

Now realizing how much of my things are from Amazon. 😅

I've got the PetFusion Ultimate Dog Lounge: Amazon link

I'm not sure about other dogs, but I suspect my Shiba just prefers the cooler ground.

We use this bed from Amazon. It's not small when rolled up (not big either), but it's pretty light at 2lbs. Our girl is 70lbs so it should be a good size for you.
We bought an elevated dog bed from Amazon, it’s supposed to be good for large dogs especially as they get older with their joints. I love it because we live in a sandy area so it traps the sand on top of it. If dirt or grime or throw up, anything liquid or nasty is on it even peanut butter from chew toys, you can take it outside with a hose and rinse the material. Our dogs love it. We honestly just throw an old blanket on top to make it more cozy, and in the summer I just plan on taking it outside.
We skipped on the fabric beds and we just do either blankets (which one of my dogs love) or cots (which both love...leaves nothing for them to chew on :)

Oh they exist.

Just google raised dog bed. They just have long metal bits at each end so if I buy a size small enough to fit in her crate then there’s not enough area for a dog her size to fit comfortably on.
My Harry slept in a kennel at night or when we were gone as a puppy. Once the housebreaking phase was over, we got him a Coolaroo.
Yeah that would last maybe 30 minutes before my dog tears through that.
We got this instead https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Elevated-Cooling-Pet-Grey/dp/B076VXVB2L/ref=mp_s_a_1_17?dchild=1&keywords=dog+cooling+bed&qid=1610757959&sr=8-17
I have two of these for my pitbull mastiff who sheds a ton. I hose them down with dish soap every week and they last me for about 2 years at a time before they start to fray.
Edit: something like these: https://www.amazon.com/Coolaroo-Elevated-Cooling-Washable-Outdoor/dp/B0091E7Q2G/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=elevated+pet+bed&qid=1600585539&sr=8-5
I recently picked up a cot-style dog bed that seems to be doing a decent job during the heat. The fabric on the Coolaroo one is a bit too rough for my boy's apparently delicate sensibilities, but I just draped a thin but soft towel over it and he napped quite comfortably even outside, in the 35C/95F heat. The extra airflow underneath them really helps regulate the temperature.
I got this one since mine is still a puppy, and I wasn't sure if he'd like it or not so didn't want to spend the extra money on top of the additional cost to get them in Canada, but the Kuranda beds are supposedly quite good quality, and the edges of the fabric are hidden within the frame so it's a lot harder to chew at. Now that I know mine likes it, once he's closer to adult size I plan to shell out the additional money to get him one of those with the Cordura fabric, since it's apparently the most similar to bed fabric, and mine quite likes to sleep on our bed.
You should get her a Snuggle Safe pet bed warmer! My old man lived to be 22, and I would heat his in the microwave every morning and every night during winter and it made him so happy. :') I hope Twist has many years ahead of her!
I have this dog bed heater. It doesn't get too hot, and it will get warmer when the dog actually lies down on the bed. I love it so far.
I use a dog bed from Costco.
I foster puppies for my local animal shelter, and there have been plenty of times that I seriously thought I had had enough and was going to take them back to the shelter- TRUST ME- it gets better. Many of the puppies I had were terrible in the crates (very thankful for the ones who slept soundly, they were angels). Something that seems to help, though, is a "Snuggle Safe."

You heat it up in the microwave and leave it under some blankets in their crate. It mimics the heat a human or their mom would give off. Puppies would usually cry for a few minutes, settle down, and fall asleep for hours on top of this thing. You can probably find one for cheaper somewhere else if $25 is too much.
The chewing could be a sign of boredom. You may want to take him out on walks (not just potty breaks) more frequently or take him to a dog park. You could also try getting a playpen for confinement indoors. Take him out to play, of course, under your supervision and when you can be watching him at all times. Other than that, keep him in a playplen in a common area that he can see/hear you with all his toys, a bed, the snuggle safe, and a few treats (a FROZEN kong with peanut butter- they love this) and water. This one really saved me when I had multiple puppies and I couldn't keep an eye on all of them constantly.
EDIT: GOOD LUCK!! Enjoy your new fur baby! :)
You might be able to reverse that - have him out in the mornings and back inside for the rest of the afternoon. It depends of course on how quickly it heats up.
There's been times when I and my dogs have had to deal with heat waves (100 degrees) and no AC. Even though it was not as hot as AZ, it was certainly higher in humidity.
What helps is lots of good shade that is not near any sort of "heat island" (e.g. not near a large expanse of concrete/asphalt with long exposure to the baking sun), a wading pool, lots of cool, clean water to drink, an elevated cot (like this: http://www.amazon.com/Coolaroo-Elevated-Style-Knitted-Fabric/dp/B000P7JKD6/ref=pd_bxgy_petsupplies_text_y) and their own personal fan. My dogs (collies) vastly prefer cyclone floor fans.
During heat waves, we don't go for walks in the neighborhood unless it's very early in the morning or late in the day. Since I'm also experiencing the same heat, we are all pretty limp during the afternoons. They really like it when I toss ice cubes into the wading pool so they can bob for them.
There are a plethora of articles online that can answer this for you with a quick google search but one thing I want to mention is the snuggle safe. You microwave it for a few minutes and it will stay warm for hours and hours. It's great to put in makeshift shelters.
also for pets, a heated pet bed is amazing, my cats absolutely LOVE this, it plugs in but uses next to no electricity, definitely get the large size

In my old boy's last few months I got him one of these mesh raised beds.
It helped him keep cool and I feel like it was easy on his joints rather than a bed that sat on the floor. Of course, I also got him like a small ramp to help him get up and down so he wouldn't hurt himself (hardwood floors can be rough for our old buddies).
It gets pretty cold where I am, and my house gets cold as well. I basically set up camp in my bedroom during the coldest months. I work (WFH) while sitting on my bed with my laptop on my lap and blankets over my legs. I add a hoodie up top for upper body warmth, but mostly the cold affects my feet and lower legs so that's what I need to keep warm. I also have a Snuggle Safe microwaveable disc that I heat up every morning and evening and use as a bed warmer both for myself and for my cats, who hang out with me while I'm working. I stick it between the sheets down by my feet and they generally lounge on top of the blankets right next to it.
It's good enough such that I can keep my thermostat set to around 65 and still be comfortable.
I always see people raving about Snuggle Safe discs on my local groups, never used them myself though.
I have outlets so I use heated bowls if I know it won't get eaten right away, otherwise I mix warm water/broth into the wet food and slip it out under the door when I know the cats are around. I also keep a steady supply of dry food available though, and I mix dry kitten food in during the winter for extra calories. Worst case if you can at least leave dry food and provide fresh water for them, that's great too. It's easier to keep water from freezing as quickly since you can leave a greater volume of it out without worrying about it going to waste.
Yup, we have two goldens. We crack a window and throw in a couple portable dog beds https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00027466A?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
and they're good to go. I can definitely see there being issues if your pup has separation anxiety though.
You can get beds which are more like camp beds/cots, Amazon example
We use these for our mastiffs and keeps them cool in summer and they love a little blanket on them in the winter
Hasn't failed me yet! I think I've had about 13 neutered over the years for hormonal aggression. It takes them a month or so for the hormones to settle but it works a treat.
Make sure whatever vet you go to gives him pain medicine, and be meticulous about his bedding. I change my surgery kiddos' bedding at least twice daily. Fleece with an absorbent layer works very well since it doesn't stick to or irritate the incision. Giving them a heat source in the beginning can also help them recover. I recently purchased the Snuggle Safe for my mice surgeries, and the heat lasts 10 hours. As long as the rat isn't a chewer, I would personally feel comfortable using it with them as well. Otherwise, a heating pad under part of the recovery cage can work. Good luck!
