I bought these on Amazon and it works like a charm. Sometimes I will take her into the vet clinic I work at and use theirs too
Depending on the clippers/coat type, this could go pretty well or very bad. I bought a cheapish pair of dog clippers first and...it took forever. Miserable. Not worth it. I was about to just give up and go for professional grooming, but I bought this $150 pair of clippers on Amazon.

Hot knife through butter. Probably took 10% of the time that it took with the old clippers.
Edit: my dog is a walking rug (Golden Doodle), so this may not be necessary for less thick coats.
Amazon link It's actually not as expensive as I thought.
We also have trimmers from Conair but they're garbage and don't work as well.
Try these out if your trying to trim the edges, or even sculpt your rugs, they're really good, low noise, and light weight

looks like it is even cheaper on amazon

do you recommend getting anything with them like the comb attachments etc
Theese ones are better. I have used the ones in the comment above but they tend to cut the nipples while shaving for a spay for example. I was thinking of getting one of these:
Alternatively, some kind of robot vacuum.
I'm in the US. This is my starting supplies list.
Tufting Gun/Frame/Primary cloth - $309 from Tuft-Love
Yarn winder - $20 Amazon
projector - $50 Miroir brand from Ebay
shears - $65 Dream Reach on Amazon - note: these are the exact same sold at a great
markup as rug trimmers
Adhesive - There are several types, I just happened to purchase Roberts 3095 from Home
Depot ~ about $25
Backing Cloth - Again, several options depending on what you are doing with your creations.
Mine are wall hangings and backed with fabric I get at a thrift store.
Yarn - Acrylic and Wool can be purchased at craft stores and online.
Scissors - get some nice sharp ones.
Machine oil - for cleaning your gun. I just use sewing machine oil
What we use for our Bernedoodle with wavy hair. Works great. Ended up buying two of them so we can cut his hair faster between two people. Perfect for summer time to keep it short with the heat. Battery last long enough to cut him in one seating.

These are the same as sold on some tufting websites. Many people, including myself, use them. I have had no problems but I am a beginner, so you may want the word of more experienced tufters.

I just got these to do Avery the next few times since she’s recovering from knee surgery. It took a while but they cut her coat nice. I used the shortest guard on it for her body and legs and used the #10 blade on her face. I like them.
Both!! 😂 There is an upholstery attachment - but I’ve found the slicker works great on my duvet. The grooming vac also has a clipper attachment right onto the hose - quick and easy paw trims. It’s truly revelatory. As soon as my pupper stopped being afraid of the vacuum I went and got this grooming set - he actually loves it 😍

I got my frame and gun from tuft-love which I highly recommend. Their customer service is awesome.
I use these clippers and a pair of duckbill scissors to trim and carve.
You can get pet trimmers on amazon that are very quiet.
Might take a little time to get them use to it.
This is the one I use: https://smile.amazon.com/ONEISALL-Cllippers-Rechargeable-Cordless-Electric/dp/B01HRSZRXM/
Some groomers will sedate your cat to groom them, and that's not something you want to do, especially on a senior cat.
Refund this one and buy this: Dream Reach Pet Grooming Clippers, Low Noise Dog Clipper, Electric Cat Hair Shaver Kit, Pet Hair Trimmers for Small Medium Large Dogs Cats with 2 Comb Attachments https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DC5PB5M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_7SY0HKEGXGYAKADTRQXZ?psc=1 on Amazon. Low Noise Cordless Rechargeable Clipper
This is what I use for my very floofy raggy boy who likes to have turd trails on his butt floof. I usually just try to get him calm and like go slow and trim a bit at a time. These work amazingly and he’s not as scared after the 5th time.
I've tried a few, these ones are the best. A discord is a great idea, someone should create one
well i’m glad you were able to get it out! sorry if i over reacted, it’s kind of common in our job for no one to listen when it is serious lol. carries over to the internet unfortunately. the least expensive and best clippers are the andis 2 speed. it comes with a #10 blade already. i’m pretty sure it’s every groomers first pair of clippers lol. they last a long time too. sorry if i came off harsh. they’re on sale on amazon
