If anyone is interested, Amazon Prime has the first two episodes up for free this weekend here. I've become a very big fan of the show very quickly. The entire season is released on November 20th!
Here are few steps for non-US users to stream The Expanse, although they'd be still breaking the Amazon's T&C.
Step 1: Get an amazon.com account.
Step 2: Load balance through your credit or debit card - https://www.amazon.com/asv/reload/order?_encoding=UTF8&ref_=asv_gclp_bwd_pd
Step 3: Use a fake US address and set that as your default address.
Step 4: Buy the episodes & season pass - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018BZ3SCM/ref=nav_timeline_asin?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Now that you're done, you can watch the series without a VPN. Increase in digital sales, DVDs & Blu-rays are probably the only real ways to get Amazon on board. So do what you can.
Steins;Gate! It's my favorite anime and it's one of the best. Currently $30 on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Steins-Gate-Complete-Classic-Blu-ray/dp/B00KU3Y5CG/
Hmm, it appears to be sold out atm though... Also sold out on rightstuf... And sold out at Best Buy... Wow.
Here you go: https://www.amazon.com/Patriot/dp/B017APUY62
Free to stream on Amazon Prime. Amazing cast. The characters are great. It's a super dark political(?) comedy of errors about a CIA agent trying to stop Iran from going Nuclear. It's nonlinear, somewhat disturbing, very weird (but not in a Lynchian way....more grounded in reality).
I'm about 6 episodes in and it has become my new favorite show. Definitely a show you need to pay attention to, and you are going to be left in the dark about a lot of things (which I know some people hate).
This screenshot is from the Amazon show "The Man in the High Castle" and depicts the 1962 version of what the Nazis have accomplished in SST. The show itself is an alternate history with the Nazi and Imperial Japanese forces winning WWII.
FYI, if you’re interested in the complete series on blu-Ray, Amazon has a very good deal right now for $47.49.
No financial involvement, just a big proponent of physical media.
What do you mean?
The Room can be seen in certain theater showings, the DVD and Blu Ray are available for purchase on Amazon, and there are non-legal ways to watch it too.
Patriot on Amazon is a great underrated comedy/satire
This is what you're interested in.
HOWEVER, it doesn't have The Plan or Blood & Chrome. I'm not aware of any "complete series" set sold in the US that has both of those, too. Also, it lacks the webseries, "Face of the Enemy," which was released on disc only in Japan.
I'll pop in here and say that I love both the dub and sub of S;G. The dub is my go to on most of my rewatches of the series.
You should totally give it a rewatch!
(Somewhat related, not sure if you're into picking up merch, but Steins;Gate's DVD/BD combo pack is pretty fairly priced)
Amazon Link a little less than 30 USD for both formats.
It's super easy to rewatch a series when you've got the disc in your TV or on your computer.
I'm not sure, but those prices seem insane. I bought the Blu Ray Extended edition of all 3 for like $30 total, and it has, I think, the exact same content as the 2003 boxes (which I still have).
This is what I have, and the amazon page has a comparison of various box sets. Looks like it confirms that the Blu Ray has the same content
There are probably better ways to pass your time than spamming us. Here's one - you should check out 'Patriot' on Amazon. Have you seen it? It is a really, really well made television show that takes a whole bunch of memetic ideas about spies and totally subverts them in a really emotionally raw, hilarious, sad way. I think you'll enjoy watching it and talking about it a lot more than serving the agendas of a hate group on Reddit.
The first episode is free to stream: https://www.amazon.com/Patriot/dp/B017APUY62/?ref=dvm_us_dl_sl_go_ast|c_182289441520_m_D4LNjsi0-dc_s_&gclid=CM-2utK349ICFZFcfgodtFcC6Q
When you've watched it, create a new account and come back and talk to me about it.
? That's weird. I bought Your Name off Amazon and I got the DVD with both English and Japanese. I was unaware they had DVDs for only one specific language. Here is a link that has both languages Your Name. [Blu-ray] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074R4KSTM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_8U5eEbVKK18QN
I got the silver box Bluray collection, and it including most everything. None of the webisodes, but all the extended episodes, Razor and the Plan. Got it for $90 before tax.
I have this one It has the 2 part movie premier, all seasons with regular and extended episodes, It has The Plan and Razor and even has the web series called 'The Resistance'
It does NOT have the 'Face of the Enemy' web series tho. That can be watched online here
I got a great deal on Amazon. I love them, although the physical DVD boxset looks better than the normal plastic case the BluRays come in.
The speculation that the interest in alternate universe coincides with the Amazon TV Show based on PKDicks's Man in the high castle as lefties tend to like scifi, and have Amazon services.
Oddly enough from another 'friend' I also got the alternate universe spiel. It really is a thing.
Patriot (Amazon Prime)
First 4 episodes have been great, has a very Fargo feel to it.
7.6/10 so far, def keeps you wanting to see what comes next
Edit: just finished and man did it finish strong! That 50 second scene in ep 8 in front of the warehouse was one of the funniest yet tense scenes I have ever seen in film, absolutely brilliant. The writing and dialogue and general feeling of the show was so different than anything you'll see. The definition of a dark comedy/thriller
Solid 8.5/10 for me and I highly recommend at least watching the first 3 or so episodes to see what you think. You gotta be the type of person who enjoys a good dialogue, this is not an action thriller spy show. But rather a well crafted web of fucked up situations one after the other.
The soundtrack kicked ass too
If you are a fan of Fargo or any thing Coen brothers you'll love this.
Amazon Prime has seasons one and two for free, season three you have to pay for. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018BZ3SCM
Here's a handy character and location guide poster, if you need it https://i.redditmedia.com/HKfE42cU4wQIK3JPAkZ_BteUoEzKJBKrjNl9INv3S_M.jpg?s=c4c64ada4f128a5b8bc7c75cc1df0e8d
I purchased this set for my first watch of the series: Amazon Link. No issues with compatibility that I experienced; good quality.
It's got the mini-series, the complete series including extended versions of some episodes, and Razor. It's missing The Plan, but I think this box set is a pretty good value - it's really decently priced compare to other box sets.
I'm fairly certain that most of these have options in the main menu to change between the dub and sub. It lists both the English and Japanese VA for the cast as well so it's probably safe to assume that it has both.
If you want to be really sure there's an amazon listing for the same price that has all the audio options listed.
Unsolicited recommendation: Can y’all please watch and get the word out on the Amazon show called Patriot? It’s such an awesome and hilarious dark comedy series.
It's still being shopped around to various studios, according to CCP's lead IP developer.
If I remember correctly from a roundtable discussion at EVE Vegas a couple weeks ago, they're currently in talks with the producers of The Man In The High Castle.
64 bucks for the entire series, the miniseries, razor, and a ton of extras. It came out before the plan was released so it obviously doesn't have it. I know you said streaming but at this price there really is no excuse not to. Plus the video quality will be better than streaming.
This is the box set I purchased and it does include "The Plan". I was honestly thinking it included Razor as well but that doesn't show in the description so I will have to check on that.
Just hand them the blueray.
The Patriot. Only two seasons but easily my favorite show. I've watched it a few times now.
Truly amazing writing and acting - funny, sad, clever... loved every episode.
If you can, look for ones that include the 'Appendices' bonus features as well. There's about 3 hours of behind the scenes for each film which are simply just the best special features of all time! Apparently the newest 4K release doesn't include them for some reason, but for sure the Blu ray boxset does. I'm in the UK, but this is the American version of the set that I have. (I'm only guessing you're in the States, but the set seems to have the same packaging everywhere from what I can make out). I got mine second hand and it looks like you can too for about 20 bucks if the new price is a bit too much. If you don't have anything that can play blu-ray, there are definitely DVD editions too (for each film individually and as a set) that include the extended cuts and all the behind the scenes stuff, but quite honestly it looks like even second hand they're about the same price, if not more than the blu-rays, as they've probably become slightly rare.
Also, I see you're into superhero movies. I'm not really into them that much, however I really liked the film Kick-Ass, if you've not seen it. Also, Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy is excellent, although I'm sure you're aware of them!
Fuck yes. I had recently ordered this son of a bitch and have been enjoying every minute of it for a proper rewatch. I have every single thing they ever did with this reimagined version of the series pirated, but felt it was time to own some legit copies for once (as well was enjoy better quality than my damn downloads).
Unsure what your region is specifically, but in the U.S., Steins;Gate never received a DVD only release. You'd have to get either the original Part 1 and Part 2 Blu-ray + DVD Combo Packs (Part 2 is difficult to find at a good price), or get the "Anime Classics" version, which is now out of print, but it's a Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack for the whole 24 episode series + the OVA. It should be this listing on Amazon, but you might have a hard time finding it new. I'd also recommend eBay since there might be cheaper listings.
Steins;Gate 0 similarly doesn't have a DVD only release. Seeing as it only came out a couple years ago, and there isn't a "Complete Series" release on the horizon just yet, your only options are the Part 1 and Part 2 releases, since those do include DVDs.
Hey, quick question for anyone who comes in here, but finding the full length version of Razor in the UK is a real pain in the ass, but I think I might have tracked it down. Is this the right bundle? It says it has Razor and the broadcast version of Razor, but does that mean that the main Razor it has is the full length version?
Canada shares the same region code in both DVDs and Blu-rays with the United States, so I would say to purchase the Funimation version!
I'm not too familiar with most of the stores in Canada but Amazon over there sells the exact same version from the States!
Watch Patriot on Amazon Prime.
It’s a dark comedy about a spy who’s given up on life. Nevertheless, he still has to suck it up and infiltrate a piping company in Milwaukee to prevent an international crisis and potential nuclear war. LA times calls it best show you’ve probably never heard of.
Your Name < That’s A Shame
It definitely is worth the money though. You can buy it on Amazon for 18-60$
Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series [Blu-ray] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0036EH3U2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0rloDb45E6Z96
This is the only complete set. It's the remastered Blu-ray set with Razer, plan, minisodes and webisodes. You would still need Blood and Chrome and Caprica but those aren't technically a part of BSG2004.
I concur with the second point. If you can't afford to at the moment but you end up really enjoying the series, i suggest buying the blu-ray of BSG which has a plethora of additional content. It's super worth it. This is the one i bought (and also one of the cheapest, but it's very good quality).
It has like 9 discs of special features, so I sprung for all the documentaries
Apparently it's true, there is a sale going on at Amazon, but I'm not sure if this is considered spam or not. Should I remove this post?
I love steins gate but why not buy the FULL SERIES for $25 on bluray with dubs in the classic edition instead - https://www.amazon.com/Steins-Gate-Complete-Classic-Blu-ray/dp/B00KU3Y5CG/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=steins+gate+blu+ray&qid=1549984147&s=movies-tv&sr=1-2
That "LE" has nothing special about it at all sadly
Get the entire series on blue-ray for 48.00. That Box set was on sale for 39.00 a few weeks ago. Includes Razor as well
Favorite Movie: Your Name - This anime film is simply the best love story ever written. You'll be riveted from start to finish.
For those who like physical copies
The American theatrical release had both the Englsh sub and an official English dub. According to the Blu-ray listing here, the English dub is out in the wild.
Wow, time flies, Welcome to the club! :) If you are not aware, the Blu Ray comes out in a few days if you are interested! https://www.amazon.com/Your-Name-Blu-ray-DVD-Combo/dp/B074R4KSTM/ref=pd_sim_74_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=FWJTFSXJM7ZWRTD096DF
Seems to just be a Canada thing, which is weird.
It will be coming out on Bluray in the US on
november 7th. comes with the amazing dub.
Available on Amazon Nov. 7
Sorry I'm late, but I have this boxset, and I love it. Theres hours and hours of behind the scenes and extra footage, and the movies themselves are amazing. Totally worth the money
Tommy is pretty insistent that people watch it in groups. He doesn't sell it digitally. You'd have to buy a DVD on Amazon. It's worth every penny.
As far as I can tell, the longer versions seem to be only in the Blu-Rays.
But you can get the whole set for as low as $28 (used) on Amazon.
Yeah, what ^ this guy said. BSG is a hell of a ride.
It's 40 bucks now on amazon which is, (in my opinion) well worth your money. https://www.amazon.com/Battlestar-Galactica-Complete-Blu-ray-Packaging/dp/B0027UY8B8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1492616780&sr=8-2&keywords=battlestar+galactica+blu+ray
> people are scared
I don't know about that. I'd say wary (which is not the same).
> understanding your enemies
This is where I disagree with you.
Exmormons aren't my enemies. They're my knuckledheaded brothers and sisters and I want them to be happy in or out of fellowship in the church. The reason the CES Letter bums me out is because it is designed to create and perpetuate emotional crisis and who wants that for anyone, you know?
So, if you really want to understand people, sit down with them in a real life context (no screens) and talk to them. But don't really talk to them. Ask them about their lives and then really listen to what they have to say. You'll get that pain, in spades. Also, take advantage of chances you have to serve (especially scary chances to serve). Everyone needs help. And if you don't want to do any of that, then look for better media. Seriously, the next time you have free time and want to read anti-Mormon literature, go to Amazon and watch the pilot episode of Patriot instead. Then let's talk about how rad it is.
Would this cover what I need to see? I literally know nothing about it.
Is this what I should buy? Or is this on a streaming service?
Yeah, it turns out my TV had it right up front, rather than the standard version. I wanted to add it to my watchlist from the computer, but since it was featured it didn't matter much. In fact, being on a HDR capable set had everything from Amazon defaulting to the UHD bannered versions. In case you haven't tried fighting this yourself though, observe:
It makes it annoying to do list manipulation on something with a keyboard, but technically doable since the apps know what you can do and pick for you.
Anyway, yes, this show does look amazing in the full HDR glory.
Does she have a Blu-Ray player? If so, the generic extended edition trilogy on Amazon is perfect as-is, and isn't ridiculously expensive.
Bonus link for The Hobbit extended trilogy box set if you're into that sort of thing:
That's the one that has the movie split over two blurays. Then disks 3 and 4 are DVD's (the same as the original extended box sets). Then there's the 5th DVD with behind the scenes stuff that was from the limited edition DVD release.
Saw something claiming it came with digital as well. Mine didn't. I think that's a mistake.
It was only when I went to the page on Amazon I saw you were right. 5 different sets seemingly! Ridiculous.
I've been putting a lot of my money recently on anime figures that I love. I've realized I have absolutely no physical Blu-Ray collection, which is something I would like to change.
Problem is, the prices seem super incredibly high. I guess that is expected, but still...
What I'm wondering, is if there are any 'must-have' blu-ray box sets that are relatively cheap. I generally like to pick up Limited Edition stuff, but those seem extraordinarily expensive in the anime world. Is there a specific site (Canadian's especially) can pick up or preorder new LE/CEs?
I have my eyes on Steins;Gate from Amazon and Danganronpa that I'll probably pick up so far. =)
buy it here £30 is more than reasonable
Does 360 support youtube? You can watch it all on FUNimation's official youtube channel. They also have the first 4 episodes of the dub on youtube, if you prefer that.
That said, it's not HD, and the recommended subs are not the official ones. WhyNotSubs are usually what this sub recommends, which you'd have to find a way to acquire yourself (I do not believe this sub can publicly condone piracy). That said, if you do download it, I'd recommend purchasing the anime as well. $30 on amazon for 12 hours of anime is not a bad deal by any means, especially for a top anime like Steins;Gate.
You could just buy the dvds, and play those from your xbox, if you'd prefer that.
Rats, if you're convinced you'll love it, the Blu Ray/DVD set is pretty cheap. I own it myself and it's definitely worth 30 USD to me.
Z£34.95 is $50 so after shipping to the US you aren't saving much...
Here's the US link to the Blu Ray set for $57.00 with free shipping. :)
Also this is the UK release and per the comments section these will play in American disc players!
Daredevil was amazingly well done for a superhero show on Netflix. Also, "Man in the High Castle" is an interesting series about if the Axis powers had won WWII. It's based on Phillip K. Dick's novel of the same name.

Anyways, I choose Steins;Gate complete series simply because it's my top series.
Anime to me this year has meant a lot of disappointment more than anything. I was super hyped for both Charlotte and UBW, and both were a pretty big letdown. On the other hand though I definitely did have some pretty big surprises with a hopeful future, in a lot of announcements including Steins;Gate sequel and Rewrite (although I gotta keep my expectations in check)
EDIT: Oh man how could I forget Aldnoah.Zero season 2 in my slew of disappointment? That was right up there as well.
Why don't you just buy it? Then you can watch it any time you want.
Here's the black box set, I got it recently along with The Plan separately and am competely satisfied with it, especially for the price. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0027UY8B8/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_cuu7vbYMXJA78
Also this from Britain:
I know you can buy the Blu-ray DVD from the Funimation shop.
You can also buy it on Amazon but sadly I know of no sites you can download it from legally. Sorry.
If you love the show shell out 60 bucks to get it from amazon. It's got all sorts of deleted scenes, extended episodes, and commentaries that make it totally worth it. It's less than a dollar per episode for crying out loud.
The only thing it doesn't have is The Plan as that came out after the box set, but that's cheap enough on it's own.
BBC America usually plays the repeats.
I found this set on amazon, it's an import from the UK, but should play with the right software on your computer.
Sort of related, I am looking for the best version of The Lord of the rings in Blu Ray (extended edition, best quality etc. etc.)
I found this one but the reviews are all mixed and confusing, something about how you should wait to buy the next edition? And also complaints about a green tint?
Please help me because I am so confused! I just want to watch Lord of the Rings: Extended Edition in the best quality possible!
I own this version, it's the full series that also comes with optional extended episodes, bonus features, and Razor. Well worth the $60:
I have the Blu Ray Extended Editions and I must say, there are ooogles of extra features in them as well as the extended scenes.
It's just 68.15$ on Amazon.
I ran across this spoof of "special edition" DVD sets back in 2003. Seems more fitting than ever now that a new BluRay release is on the way.
I'm pretty sure it always dismisses it. There is a similar popup that comes up after a word is autocorrected that shows the spelling that was corrected. When this is tapped it puts it back. The autocorrect box is white, the reverse autocorrect box is black.
Are you thinking of honing? Honing is straightening the blade edge, and is often confused with sharpening. Sharpening actually recreates the edge, by removing matter from the blade. The OP is proper sharpening.
The change was because of disagreement with the developing process of OOo. This lead to the fork of LibreOffice from OOo. They have themself admitted that LO is not a great name as most people won't recognise the Roman word Libre. Oracle have however not given permission to use the name OOo and since they hold(held) the trademark on the name they were out of luck.
not unlikely .
that is the one that i have even though i'm pretty sure the blu-ray-box contains the same bonus material.. i might buy this one as well soon
Whatever the frak is cheap and strong.
