I ended up moving into a bigger space, but when I was going to be woodworking in my apartment, my plan was to buy this . I don't use power tools so I don't deal with a lot of dust. I ended up moving where it isn't necessary. Not experienced though! Still working on finishing my first bench after probably about 100 hours of work lol.
you could try something like this. its similar to a shower curtain rod with spring loaded tension but designed to press up against the floor and ceiling. i've used them to section off rooms while working in the house to minimize dust. I'm not sure how they would hold up long term outdoors but it might be an option.

As others have pointed out, you could build a frame with wood that is free standing, or you could try it with PVC pipes, which pop together fairly easily and could be taken apart if needed. zip tying netting to PVC should be very easy to set up and take down.
Yeah I’m a GC who does mostly remodels and additions. Some new construction too.
Yes we have a 12’ dump trailer that goes with me quite a bit. With all the tools in the truck I can still legally tow 9,000 lbs. The max my trailer can weigh is 10,000 lbs so it’ll be ok.
Those are Zip Walls, they help create a plastic wall separating your work area from the rest of the house. They don’t damage the ceiling, and they don’t fall down if the wind is blowing into the house. As you can tell, we use them a lot. https://www.amazon.com/ZipWall-ZipPole-Spring-Loaded-Barriers-ZP4/dp/B002RL8ODK
This place sells bike specific kits, and they ship to the US
Or you can buy some 3m clear film in bulk on Amazon and have some left over for repairs to the wrap.
here is an amazon link as well if harbor freight does not ship to you! amazon cloths
You can always double up the plastic, you can even toss some card board in between the plastic and the coop for insulation.
This is the plastic I mentioned, this is a smaller roll so it’s cheaper. May be worth looking into when you build the new coop come spring. I’m sure your ladies will be ok, you’d be surprised what a chicken go go thru. They are amazingly hardy animals, and all around amazing

Zip walls (might be able rent) could also help, if you put the walls fairly close around the humidifier, and the hole you should get a decent effect. Still leave at least 2’ around the thing to cut down on the fire risk.
A protective sheet of clear 3M film (goes on with a bit of soapy water) would be 98% invisible and could be cut to shape. It won't harm the finish. I would consider it.
Not sure about this exact manufacturer, but it gets you in the ballpark.
Try using this as a tarp and posts to support it, will keep the rain out and will help a bit with rain.

Great solution. Akin to what I found on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/ZipWall-ZipPole-Spring-Loaded-Barriers-ZP4/
Not dumb at all; these guys are charging $160 for your solution!!!
I'm a gallery art painter who creates large works, and I simply use somewhat thick canvas dropcloths as painting canvas. I prime the hell out of it, and I've never had a problem from a single buyer (sold about 50+ paintings). It's cheap and it works -- and way better than many overpriced art canvases. For instance: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TIXP6EU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_ViBTFbWCJ25X9
Been looking into it more, I think this is the right solution. Very similar to what /u/humanoidtyphoonberg mentioned, but looks like there is a good deal at Amazon right now: https://www.amazon.com/ZipWall-ZipPole-Spring-Loaded-Barriers-ZP4/dp/B002RL8ODK#. Thanks for the advice!
Amazon , if you end up getting it let me know, I had a friend get some and messed it up because he didn’t ask me how I applied it haha
Those napkins are lovely. This may be a silly thought, but my mind immediately went to cutting up a painters drop cloth like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TIXP6EU/ though a lighter cloth might be less stiff.
Use adhesive floor protection. This stuff works like a charm with paint!
I'm going to assume that your off campus house has hard floors. Don't buy the minimum square footage since you're going to want to overlap at least 2 inches. Use a dry mop or floor squeegee to evenly spread each sheet and get a good seal on the floor, and use masking tape to secure the edges.
When the party's over, peel it up and toss it in a dumpster. Good luck!

If there's going to be construction going on IN your server room, I'd recommend using zipwalls to protect your gear and HVAC from dust/debris. Used these during our last construction project, worked well
Ok this is a whacky idea but I was actually thinking about making some pants this morning out of this painter's cloth. Seriously.
I bought it last week to use as curtains out on my very tall covered terrace (which, by the way, it was PERFECT for - didn't even need sewing of any kind).
I was shocked by the actual quality of the fabric. It has nice weight and a lovely feel. I didn't wash it because I didn't want it to shrink (and didn't need to for the curtains), but I think I'm going to get another one, wash it and then maybe make both pants and jacket out of it. $20?!
I am using these fully adjustable ceiling poles:
Spring loaded at top, no vibration and has pads to ensure no slip on hard surfaces.
Along with these handlebar camera mounts:
all works flawlessly :)
Those snow globes are about $799. Ouch!
I'm curious. Why do you say 6mil plastic sheeting (i can use clear, so it doesnt absorb as much sun&heat) is better than a heavy duty tarp?
So would this work? Ive been considering buying a roll and installing it myself after i get my front bumper repainted.
