I just bought the DM10 Mesh (not X) but haven't set it up yet. Can your neighbors hear it at all (assuming you're wearing headphones)? Also do you have hardwood floors or carpet?
I also have one of these leftover from Rock Band which I'm hoping, in addition to the carpeting in my apartment, will make it so the pedals don't make any noise through the floor: http://www.amazon.com/Stage-DMA6450-DrumFire-Slip-Drum/dp/B003ICIVOE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454528530&sr=8-1&keywords=drum+mat
I know I'm just a stranger on the internet, but I'd strongly recommend a clear Remo Powerstroke 3 on the bass batter head if you want something new. Otherwise the stock clear head also sounds great as long as you use the Yamaha Impact Strip. Mine I use the stock head on the bass batter and it works well. http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-MA-200-15-Feet-Impact-Strips/dp/B0002F6XK4
