Generic rubber handled spring barbell clips have an Amazon ship weight of 1.1 lbs. You could just use two sets of clips on each side, which would be 2.2 lbs. That's the only solution I can think of to keep you from buying plates, and you'll still be accurate to within 0.3 lbs, which isn't bad at all.
I like these. They do the job and if anything at all goes wrong, they’ll send you new ones. Lifetime warranty I believe

Edit: So even Coop attests to the lifetime warranty but I’m actually having a hard time finding contact info for the company
you can go and buy a set of plastic clamps on amazon for like $10, something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6A5032/ref=sspa_dk_detail_1?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01N6A5032&pd_rd_w=SHCkJ&pf_rd_p=733540df-430d-45cd-9525-21bc15b0e6cc&pd_rd_wg=tsMsm&pf_rd_r=3683MZ0FD377R5R2KQY2&pd_rd_r=97e2ae1e-5648-11e9-9cc9-7768f6408781
I bought some $10 ones off Amazon similar to this and have never had an issue with movement on 500+ lb deadlifts or 400+ lb squats. Shouldn't take too much to be better than a chain gym's collars.
I believe Lockjaws were the collars holding the weight in place for Joe Sullivan's infamous barbell bend video.
Literally bought these collar clamps for $22 (?) last week and now they are $14
Which collars would you recommend for them? I've been using these for about a year but wouldn't mind upgrading to something better.
I believe these are called roepke collars, and unfortunately Titans does seem like the cheapest.
Maybe if you don’t care too much about scratching the sleeves, you can use these ones?
Compression collar was the perfect recommendation. That keyword helped me discover some collars that look like they'll be able to get that screw down far enough to grip onto even the narrower diameter of the storage pins: https://smile.amazon.com/YILE-Release-Stainless-Weightlifting-Training/dp/B07ZFDL9VH/ref=sr_1_8
Not being able to find clamps is common at most gyms. Just buy yourself a nice pair and enjoy always having some to use.
Here’s one example for less than $15 that come in all sorts of colors.

3/4 inch schedule 40 iron pipe is 1" OD, and you can pick up a 4ft length for $25 at most home improvement stores. Standard (non Olympic) weight plates will fit on, then you just need 2 pairs of collars like this.
Thats what my daughter used until she was 8 or so.
You mean stuff like this? https://www.amazon.com/Iron-Lab-Crossfit-Training-Professional/dp/B01L7Z0SJO/
Anything in that style is good. Even the cheapo knockoff ones still hold very well. If you want the premium real deal just get Lock-Jaw.
Not cheap, but I'm a big fan of the lock jaw collars:
I use oso mighty axle collars, but I would think that of this style should work.

Best bang for your buck. Aluminum collars.
Yep. $13 and have lasted me 2 years so far:
You need the 2" for your your barbell, if you don't do Olympic Weightlifting, these should be plenty:
Yeah honestly I just bought some after making the comment. I have a bunch of standard plates and accessories from when I first started this ordeal. I don't use them nearly as often because of the time consuming process of updating weights but I bought these from Amazon and they should come tomorrow! Apparently from the reviews they work well with the threaded bars but not the smooth ones, we'll see
Update: I ordered these Greententljs Olympic Barbell Clamps 2 inch Quick Release Pair of Locking 2" Pro Olympic Weight Bar Plate Locks Collar Clips for Workout Weightlifting Fitness Training
And they fit perfectly and extra tight on all my bars
I have several sets of these Synergee collars and they're awesome.
I also have some rogue mighty collars that I use on my dumbbell handles and they're really good too.
I prefer the synergee ones, but the mighty collars are smaller and better for dumbbell handles. The rogue USA aluminum collars look like some of the best if you don't mind spending more for a better finish.
Yeah, regular dip belt with a chain. I'm using a homemade axle (8' of 2" pipe + pipe collars from Home Depot), and I put one of those bar collars with a screw (like these) right where the belt's chain sits, so it doesn't slide around.
When inserted into the landmine attachment on my stands, it hangs off the end of my platform enough that I don't need to stand on blocks or anything. Can hit parallel just as it touches the floor.
Got these by recommendation of someone else on this sub. Only used them a few times so not sure about long term but I like them so far. Surprisingly sturdy for the cost.

best budget olympic collars? are really these ones from Amazon really as good as they claim to be? or is there a better option under $30usd?
I'd say it depends. My bumpers tend to slide with a little tilt/shift and it's annoying if I'm squatting and I shift a little so I put them on. You can get cheap ones off of amazon like these https://www.amazon.com/Barbell-Collars-Weightlifting-Training-Neon-Green/dp/B01N6A5032/ which is what I use.
Has anyone used the Clout fitness quick release barbell collars from Amazon? Just got them delivered in anticipation of the sweet day the Ohio Bar SS is in stock.

Working well so far, highly rated, not the absolute cheapest available but not bad. No problems with them on the titan curl bar.
Qualcuno sa quale e' il diametro di un bilanciere non olimpionico ?
questi per tenere fermi i pesi, ma non so se il mio bilanciere e' di 1 o 2 inches e al momento non posso misurarlo
Some kinds of barbell collars might be a worthwhile design to look into. The kind that wrap around the cylinder and provide a lever arm to pretension and lock it into place(like this) would be my choice. There's also the kind that slide onto the end and are tightened by a screw with a lever in it(like this).
Figure out what loads you need to support and try to estimate the clamping pressure required.
Yeah, my gym has these and they work fine. They slip less that the spring ones on floor lifts like deadlift or certain types of rows.
The clips are the things you put on the end of the bar so the weights don't slide off while you are lifting.

I have seen some people say they use the little ankle weights too.
