I used to be a fool who only turned it on occasionally. Set it to be on at all times, you can create exceptions for home, work, or favorite places. Get a nice big memory stick, I just got 500 GB for $85 on Amazon.

500GB SSD, $50 off.
Better than flash drives, doesn't overheat. Very small form factor (a bit more square than a credit card).

Update
I wish I would have tested load in times into strikes. But on average I would say I'm 10-15 seconds ahead of the rest of the fireteam on loading in.
The 1TB Xbox Storage Expansion card and the SN850 are both $200.
buy one of these
Samsung T5 Portable SSD - 500GB - USB 3.1 External SSD (MU-PA500B/AM) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073GZBT36/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AxdbCb1D2SE2J
plug it in to one of your Xbox USB outlets. It will come with a USB cord.
when you plug it in it will ask if you want to format it, select yes.
on the xbox, go to settings-> storage. find the SSD device. and move all of the PUBG files there.
These are ST3000DM008 not to be confused with the infamous ST3000DM001 which are probably the worst rated HDD's on the market. In a similar situation to Corsair's CX line it's easy to tell by the product information and product branding that this is the newer drive.

I'm by no means endorsing this product but I don't want to have people immediately start screaming about "SEAGATE 3TB DRIVES"

500gb ssd card from Samsung that is just about the size of a credit card but thicker. Used it for a month and it is running strong and nowhere near full.
Just as a heads up, you can also get a reasonably sized external SSD for <150 right now because of Amazon Prime Day, for example this one from Sandisk: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-1TB-Extreme-Portable-SDSSDE60-1T00-G25/dp/B078STRHBX/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=external+ssd&qid=1563321541&s=gateway&sr=8-4
The con of course is it's still more expensive than a traditional HDD and less space, but there is a pretty big load time difference for some games
I have a Samsung T5 500GB. It works pretty well and uses USB 3.1 type C, which means it also works fine with USB 3.0. From what I can find it's one of the best external USB 3.0 SSD for the money. I personally used it for virtual machines when I was in college. It was faster than internal storage, and it never got hot. The T5 comes in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB flavors. The 500GB seems to be the best price per gigabyte right now.
Here's a link to it on amazon so you can check it out:
You can buy her an external ssd storage device with 1tb of capacity for 110 bucks.
I use this specific Samsung T5 and a clan member of mine does too. It works wonders.

You should be running your sessions off an external hard drive anyway. Nobody uses the internal. It literally says in the Pro Tools manual that you should never run sessions off the system drive. It's just common sense cpu optimization. Just get a T5 & run sessions off that, plug into any rig you want. You can even velcro it to the back of your laptop and you'll never notice it's there.
Same price here on amazon with free on day shipping
You can't upgrade a 2015 Macbook Pro I'm afraid - all of the RAM, SSD and GPU elements are directly soldered to the motherboard. I would suggest looking into a proxy editing workflow, where you transcode your footage from its original format to an editing friendly codec such as ProRes or DnXHD. The best upgrade you can buy is to get an external SSD to fit all of your footage on, then you can edit directly from this drive. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-T5-Portable-SSD-MU-PA1T0B/dp/B073H552FJ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=t5+ssd&qid=1554068948&s=gateway&sr=8-1

And here is my HD. I've had them flipped this entire time. I suck. My local Drive has been my SSD and what I thought was my SSD was actual my HD. Explains A LOT! :(
So, if you want sheer storage you'll be fine getting any hard drive. Keep in mind hard drives are kinda fragile, I'd suggest not to take them on the road. Also, hard drives are pretty slow, like 20-30 (not 2-3) times slower than your mac's internal storage.
I would suggest you pick a external SSD instead. Storage will be a bit less for the same price, but they are waaay faster, smaller and less fragile.
For example you can get a Samsung T5 (or to newer R6 or T7 models): https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-T5-Portable-SSD-MU-PA1T0B/dp/B073H552FJ
However, if speed, size and fragility is of no concern, you can't really go wrong with the one that you suggested
I have one as well, and use it to backup my Mac.
Edi: for photo-editing I suggest you get an external SSD over an external hard drive
Is this what you got? My memory card doesn’t seem very reliable

I've read this drive is great for SentryCam, etc. I've used them for photography and plan to get one for my just picked up MYLR.
They're pretty much "bomb proof", High speed and durable- able to withstand heat and constant write/rewrites. Plus at 1-2TB you can record everything.
If you do go with the MacBook i would recommend getting the 16gb ram upgrade over the 512gb ssd upgrade, it’s completely ridiculous, 200$ for an extra 256gb when a good 1tb external ssd is cheaper for 4 times the extra space

You can’t go wrong with this.
My heart: Hey, paying $37/month for 6 months ain't too shabby a price to pay for this.
My head: Wtf, you idiot, you don't even really need this.
I just bought a Samsung 500gb SSD from Amazon for around 125. Plug and play with just a quick format. I also have the 2tb segate xbox hd. I moved PUBG from the segate to the Samsung and it us night and day difference loading into the spawn map and having buildings render on Miramar
Me and a buddy both have X's and my buildings are rendered while in the plane or right after I jump while his area is still bare until he almost touches down
This is what I just bought. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-T5-Portable-SSD-MU-PA500B/dp/B073GZBT36/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1531241434&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=samsung+ssd+500gb&dpPl=1&dpID=318I0KrjRKL&ref=plSrch

SSDs and M.2 SSDs are different things.
External USB drives will not be able to play games and will strictly store data. Those are items like this: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-T5-Portable-SSD-MU-PA1T0B/dp/B073H552FJ/
Sony has a requirements that SSD expansions (internal) meet its expected performance levels to be considered compatible. The current internal SSD operates at around 5.5 Gb/s which is faster than pretty much everything on the market atm. It's insanely fast, and I think Sony will require SSDs to meet that speed to be used as an expansion.
Here you go:

Just hook it up under the phone pad (which your car will have the wireless phone charger pad in it) and plug it in. Then go to the screen and go to settings and go to display I think and then go to format drive. You will need to look it up as I don’t remember.

Yes, PS5 does take advantage of the speed of external SSD drives.
The Samsung T5 has worked very well for me. Super fast drive.

8GB/256GB might be enough for you, but it’s mainly going to depend on how seriously you get into photo/video editing. If it’s occasional, you’re all good. But if you think it’s going to become a more serious thing, I would consider bumping up the RAM.
RAM is really fast storage that apps use while working. So, if you load up a photo in Photoshop, it’ll be stored in RAM while you’re messing around with it. Practically, 8GB RAM should be enough if you’re editing iPhone photos, but if you’re planning get a nicer digital camera that saves 50 megapixel images or whatever, then 16GB is a safer bet. 8GB will still work, though, but it’ll be a bit slower and put more wear on your computer.
Video editing can also get pretty heavy. That’s the kind of stuff that can push your SSD requirements up since uncompressed video files can take up a huge amount of space. If you’re going to be doing this, though, it’ll be more cost-effective to work off of an external SSD like this rather than the internal SSD. Yes, it’s more convenient to not carry an extra thing around, but you’ll be paying Apple a substantial price premium for the privilege.
The other stuff that you mentioned like video calls, Office, Netflix/YouTube, readings, etc. are not very intensive in terms of RAM or SSD usage.
