I would recommend the book The Outlaw Ocean by Ian Urbina a great book on the subject. The Guardian has a long read article by Urbina if you're curious, but unsure about buying the book. Either way- highly reccommended.
If I was getting a gift that was not a gift card for my hobby it would be in no particular preference:
I learned a lot from this book: https://www.amazon.com/Aquaponic-Farmer-Complete-Operating-Commercial/dp/086571858X
Then we built this: https://cirkularodling.se/build-an-aquaponic-indoor-farm-part-1-start-and-prior-knowledge/
I totally thought you were posting The Outlaw Ocean haha. Another great book on the same topic.
I found this book really easy and interesting, and maybe could be a good starting point

I only did preliminary research and realized it would be to much hassle. You would use the same fish. You wouldn't change chemistry for flower. Also aquaponics is better for lower feeding plants, lettuce and greens. I read this is one of the better books on the subject https://www.amazon.com/dp/086571701X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_FcDaGbB0X7NQT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Yes, anti ich medicine should work.
This book is a good overview of fish diseases and how to cure them:
Aloha, and welcome! I would start with either Bernstein's book Aquaponic Gardening and/or Small-scale Aquaponic Food Production (free option). You will get a better start from either of these resources.
Aquaponics Farmer is a book about running a commercial-scale Aquaponics venture.

FYI it's cold water aquaponics and targets a colder clime than what you're doing but it should be somewhat relevant.
The Aquaponics Farmer, Southern & King. A very detailed explanation on how to build and operate a medium scale greenhouse operation. The best I have seen so far. https://www.amazon.com/Aquaponic-Farmer-Complete-Operating-Commercial/dp/086571858X/ref=pd_bxgy_14_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=086571858X&pd_rd_r=T27CK6946SAD3MRXRHXC&pd_rd_w=YXa6x&pd_rd_wg=Q15aK&psc=1&refRID=T27CK6946SAD3...
Bernstein's book was my first one.
Some of the information/rules of thumb are a bit iffy, from what I'm told, but it's a good start, and you'll have edible plants.
I think we need to explain to Trump the difference between a joke and a story that isn't a joke.
For example: joke
Take this one from Cheers: Sam and Diane are arguing because they always do. To get back at her, Sam goes to a hideaway on the cape with a bimbo and because Diane is bat shit crazy, she follows him there.
For some reason (maybe one of her parents are sick) the bimbo has to leave. So Sam and Diane are sitting at different tables in the restaurant and because they are crazy for each other, they try to break the ice. So Diane says "Sam, didn't there use to be a lobster trap in the hallway?". And Sam says "Yeah, I guess they wised up and started going through the kitchen." Anyone that doesn't have a pre-frontal lobotomy can see that this is a joke. The trap was for decoration. Lobsters don't go walking around on land, especially in buildings like restaurants. Also, lobsters are dumber than dirt and never wise up. Although they do pee through their head.
Joke
Contrast that with this story:
Trump and Kellyanne Conway go to a show in New York and decide to stay at an apartment in a skyskraper built by one of Trump's commercial real estate firms. Maybe to visit Melania. So Trump says "Kellyanne, I think Obama wire tapped the apartment". Kellyanne's response is "Actually, I think they put secret cameras in the microwave ovens". Not funny. To try to rescue this story, Trump calls Sean Spicer. "Sean, why would Obama wire tap my apartment". Sean says "I don't know, but John McCain thinks it is to check if you are communicating with the Russians to undermine US interests". Trump: "Don't be absurd, you can't trust McCain. He was captured". Serious as a heart attack. Not joke.
Joke .. not joke.
Foremost fucking lobster expert in the world. read his book. Lobsters are dumb, but tasty.
With zero aquaculture knowledge, I'd start studying some texts to give yourself an edge over other potential employees, there is a lot going on a farm, far more than what most people would anticipate.
For Aquaculture Technologies, research: AKVA These guys seem to be the leading suppliers of technologies all over the world.
For an Introduction to recirculating aquaculture, research: Timmons' Book This book is basically the aquaculture bible.
It's not very difficult to learn the basic types of filters and systems, just spend a little time reading.
I highly recommend reading Bottom Feeder if you want to know more about what sources of fish are safe/healthy to eat. It doesn't really go into the nutritional details as deeply as you're asking about, but it's an eye-opening read.
