Yeah, I’m very surprised, I’ve never had a flare get better this quickly before.
I’ve been using these socks at night to help (they have little cold gel packs in them, they’ve been a lifesaver)
NatraCure Cold Therapy Socks - Gel Ice Treatment for Feet, Heels, Swelling, Arch Pain - (Size: Medium/Large) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003L4WONS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BjuwDbN9BJ34B
These compression socks are fabulous. The link I shared is good for 25% off. I also recommend these cold socks. I'm almost 38 weeks and am on my feet at work for 8 hours and walk over 5 miles a day on hard tile floors. This combo is a game changer!
Pedag arch support insert size large
I got the wrong size through Amazon. I went to return and they just refunded me... So whoever wants to pay for shipping (~$7?) can have these.
I use the arch support straps, in my floppy-ass Lollys, linked below.
(Please feel free to order them from NOT Amazon, but here's the Amazon link anyway):
Vive Arch Support Brace (Pair) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IBTX95E/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_bhb3FbPA64Y8Z?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have extreme overpronating fallen arches. My feet look like fleshy canoes. I wear custom orthotics everywhere. Standing in the shower without them can be excruciating.
Anyway my full sole customs were too tight in the toe area in the Lolly boots and created more pronation, hammer toe effect, and plantar fasciatis.
My half sole ones made the heel to high, soI settled on those straps and goddamn did I level up! I really wasn't living or skating until I could hit edges with a semi-functional feet and ankles compared to the deflated balloon animals I was struggling on before.
I now wear these straps around the house barefoot when I can't be bothered to wear birkinstocks inside.
Not recommending a brand as most gyw loafers I’ve seen have limited arch support. But if an insole doesn’t fit, one of these arch “cookies” might do the trick? link
I put a ton of weight on my heels and got something like this that really helps. I have to get shoes a half size bigger sometimes to make sure they fit but they make all the difference in the world.
I've never posted a link before so here's hoping it works out! The arch support is adjustable and the straps are decently comfy.
I’ve had plantar flare ups for years on and off. I do notice a difference when I take care to wear a good pair of running shoes with nice padded athletic socks when I know I’ll be walking a lot. I also find simply massaging my feet with my hands and stretching them out helps. But when they’re extremely sore from a long day on my feet, these ice socks from amazon have been a lifesaver and work wonders. https://www.amazon.ca/NatraCure-Cold-Therapy-Socks-Treatment/dp/B003L4WONS/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ice+socks+for+plantar&qid=1610075647&sr=8-3
I recently got into palladiums this year, so I have no prior reference.
However I did notice the insoles were pretty thin. I replaced them with these https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Scholls-Relief-Orthotics-Women/dp/B01MG68UX9/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=dr%2Bscholl%27s%2Binserts%2Barch&qid=1601863227&sprefix=dr%2Bscholl%27s%2Binserts%2Barxh&sr=8-4&th=1&psc=1
They are small and allow for toe room. If you buy them from Walmart I'm sure you could return them if they don't work.
Use arch support, this will save the insole text for you as well. I use this whatever I got half size up. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01MG68UX9/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_apa_gl_i_G2RQ89W5JYG34S21D99E?linkCode=ml2&tag=ubtstore-20
Oh girl you may have been missing out. They have a wide variety on Amazon and you just stick 'em in your shoes.

These cheap things cured the pain in my arch. I wore them at work one day. It was very uncomfortable but ever since it's been totally better. I think the muscle on the bottom of the foot starts to get to tight and you have to apply pressure to it to loosen it up.
Vince Warren sneakers dress up really well. They come in a variety of fabrics and colors and are comfortable for everyday wear, but I also put these inserts in them before a vacation where I know I'll be walking even more than usual. I recently went on an 8-day trip and clocked 22k-30k steps each day and was fine, and I have pretty sensitive feet.
Also please never, ever pay full price for them -- they're always on sale somewhere!
I am so sorry to hear how much it is causing you pain and impacting you life! In your situation I would definitely push to try medication and advocate for yourself! Here is the one I bought if you aren’t in Canada you can try searching up cold therapy socks online or on your amazon NatraCure Cold Therapy Socks - Reusable Gel Ice Frozen Slippers for Feet, Heels, Swelling, Edema, Arch, Chemotherapy, Arthritis, Neuropathy, Plantar Fasciitis, Post Partum Foot, Size: Small/Medium https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B003L4WOKG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_QXRXC89S39WAG0XYZDNS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I highly recommend getting some cold therapy socks. My wife used these throughout her pregnancy and she swore by them.

I love thick, fuzzy socks. The crazier the better, cause, gotta laugh sometimes, right?
When they are hot and/or swollen, I have these slippers that are basically ice packs in the shape of a sock and I LOVE them (example here).
I also find very comfortable, breathable shoes very important.
I went with these ones: NatraCure Cold Therapy Socks -... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003L4WONS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I actually have an issue with my feet being too cold at first, but it very quickly gets pretty nice. They are not cozy/ warm socks- more of like a breathable thin stretchy fabric. A slipper would be nice but the think that’s good about the sock is it holds the cold against your foot so you can lay on the couch or have your feet up. These are nice too because there are several different pockets/ ice packs so you can move them around if you want them on the top of your feet or your ankle. I would say they last from probably 30 min-hour. It’s just a huge relief when your feet are hot to just slip these on.
I have these boots. Wear with one of these Dr Scholl's and you won't feel pain even after twelve hours.
If the boot feels a biiiit too tight on the toes. Snip a bit of other insert off to allow more room.
NatraCure Cold Therapy Socks -... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003L4WOKG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I am 37 weeks and am incredibly swollen as well. I ordered these socks that have freezer packs in them a few weeks ago and love them! Sometimes I even put my hands in them instead of my feet because my hands are also very swollen.
Our basement is concrete floors and my feet hurt more when I spend time down there. Someone here recommended these socks and omg they’re amazing NatraCure Cold Therapy Socks - Reusable Gel Ice Frozen Slippers for Feet, Heels, Swelling, Edema, Arch, Chemotherapy, Arthritis, Neuropathy, Plantar Fasciitis, Post Partum Foot, - Size: Small/Medium https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003L4WOKG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_88K1YQWWXZGAXGKQ12SH
Absolutely! I’ve been using these slippers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003L4WOKG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_3Q652GNVPA8DPZ9H5P2N For some reason, I can’t find the cryotherapy gloves I used, but searching “cryotherapy mittens” on amazon will yield lots of results, and I’ll add the link to mine if I can find them! I wear them during my docetaxel and carboplatin infusions, and bring spare gel packs in a cooler so I can trade them out when the ones I’m using start to warm up. So far, I don’t have any neuropathy after three infusions. I take short breaks when my hands or feet seem to be getting too cold/ feeling very clumsy, but do my best not to let them come back to a normal temperature. So far, so good. I hope your mom’s treatment goes as well as possible!!
(Horween leather btw. Best leather in the USA)
If you buy it, try the boot first, see it you have space under your heel. If you do go to Walmart and find these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MG68UX9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_XZ4KGF1EY71M3A9B47ME
(Even tho it's Amazon, I said WalMart cuz you can return even if opened.)
This is what I have currently for my workboot set up.
I can last 12 hr days of walking with little to no pain on my feet. I walk on hard concrete all day.
Also, another thing about these boots is that you may get a little rubbing on the toes. For that problem, I just snipped the tip of the insert it came with for more wiggle room.
Wow that is really impressive! Have you been able to find any solutions to your foot pain? I put these Dr. Scholls beds (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M3VQZQ7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) in my foot and they changed everything. Almost night and day, just amazing. I place them in the shell, outside of the liner.
I did purchase insoles and it helped me a lot since my skates are cheap and have zero support. I have a high arch and it was making my whole foot ache.
These are the supports I bought and actually they hold my heel in place better now too! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MDS69PO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So glad to hear you're in a better headspace.
I don't have any recommendations for a mat/rug.
However, if your slippers are too clunky and too hot, but you need arch support, I have found that these slip-on arch supports are great and affordable. They can go on your bare foot or over a sock, and you can wear them with or without shoes or slippers. They've got wide elastic that goes over the top of the foot and a nice squishy bottom.
They're particularly helpful if your connective tissue in your feet is degrading, causing your foot to flatten or be overly flexible.
If you have the burning pain in your feet, these might be too intense, but if its other kinds of pain and arch support, these are fantastic, imo.
Also some Birkenstocks or other cork-based shoes which molds specifically to your feet might be helpful, whether you want sandals, boots, or low-tops. They can be pricey, so you might want to check out the very gently used options. Be careful about the cork inside though, you don't want it if its already well-conformed to someone else's foot shape.
If you don't have compression socks or snug, soft leggings, these can also help reduce edema a bit and therefore reduce the skin-level hypersensitivity it causes.
So, not at all what you asked for, but hopefully there's something in there that helps a bit.
Thursdays are more for casual wear, not really meant for dedicated hiking.
Check these keen boots. Not exactly cap toe, but cap toes aren't waterproof because water can still fall in through the cap. Still very stylish, flexible and have the ability to be resoled as well. pair it with these inserts and you can get more cushion for long walks and hikes.
just an fyi, the boots I suggested aren't exactly waterproof either, the most they can handle is a few splashes of a puddle and that is it. but if you are going to go through miles of puddles and mud then a dedicated neoprene boot would do more justice.
Put some obenaufs heavy duty lp on the leather for more waterproof-ness.
put these on top of the insert it comes with:
The design on these look so good I'm thinking of getting some lol
