Try doing a deck interview. Or reading for imaginary people/fictional characters.
Also, you can try doing some tarot "games" for practice instead of doing spreads/readings. Check out Easiest Way to Learn Tarot for some good practice exercises.
I would just start with a rider wait deck. Most of the tarot 101 info out there is based on the imagery in the rider deck. It’s a good starting point to get familiar.
Golden Tarot is great for quick reference! I also cannot recommend enough: 78 Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack. It's based around this deck and it really helps you dive into the symbolism and really LOOK at the cards and help you glean how to make the cards' meanings and symbols meaningful to you.
Edit: a word
I would suggest the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, which you can buy for pretty cheap on Amazon. Most other decks are based on this system and almost all books and websites for learning the cards use this deck. When you start to learn, the LearnTarot website is free and very helpful. Have fun! Exploring Tarot is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Not online but Fifty-four Devils is a great guide, especially for beginners. He used to have an online presence but I think he took down his stuff after the book was published. Worth a look and affordable.

I had looked online at actually buying one and on amazon at least they were suuuper expensive, so I bought a tarot deck, pulled the right amount of cards following this guide mostly. Then I tea dyed them and dried them off between paper towels and pressed by a heavy book and used some scrap fabric and a tassel to complete the ancient magic deck look.
If anyone wants to do the same, my suggestion to you is to do the tea dying in waves and not let them sit too long. I let the whole deck soak for a few hours in a pot of tea that had been made with 14 black tea bags and the glue separated on some of them splitting the backs from the faces. They stuck back together but I lost a few of the cards. Doesn't really matter I guess, but for anyone's future reference.
Ah, that makes more sense. That's a Rider-Waite-Smith card. It might be one of the variations on the original since the colors are much clearer than on my own cards. Here's a comparison of similar decks on YouTube for you to check out.
Edit to add: Comparing your link to the video, it looks like the most similar decks are the ones published by U.S. Games Systems Inc. Here's an Amazon link to their Rider Tarot Deck.
I'd highly recommend The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot, Ever! by Dusty White. Worked wonders for me. Before I tried the method he proposes, I was stuck using a book to do my readings. This was the only thing that ever shook me free.
Hi it has someone's name next to it now but here is a link from Amazon...a lot of cheaper options for gently used books...I cleanse all books so im good.......Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom: A Book of Tarot https://www.amazon.com/dp/1578634083/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_glt_fabc_QXS4ADCWB8CDZVDRZ0SX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Something that might be of interest to you, Travis McHenry made an Angel Tarot deck, which is the 72 Angels of the Shem Hamephorash, plus 6 extra angels to get to the 78 cards of a whole tarot deck.
But be also released what he calls the Occult Tarot, which has the 72 goetic entities with their illustrations from the Goetia (plus 6 bonus entities for a 78 card deck). Having physical cards for the entities might be useful as a focus or something

I don't have these but they are on my wish list because they are described as inclusive.
Going to steal this to ask, where should I buy a deck? Has anyone bought theirs off Amazon?
Also, has anyone purchased this one?
Thanks. <3
since I have nothing better to do today:
The photos pictured look like they're from the Rider Tarot Deck, which is a 1971 reissue of the original work, which was created by Pamela Colman Smith in 1909 and published in 1910. The copyright is held by U.S. Game Systems, Inc, and the reissue was made in collaboration with Miss Sybil Waite and Rider & Company, London.
The box itself refers to the deck as "The Rider Tarot Deck," noting on the back that it is also known as the Waite Tarot and The Rider-Waite Tarot. The box notes that this edition is "the original and only authorized edition of the famous 78-card Tarot Deck designed by PAMELA COLMAN SMITH (emphasis theirs), under the direction of ARTHUR EDWARD WAITE."
In 2009 U.S. Games Systems released another, more true-to-original reproduction of the deck as part of the Pamela Colman Smith Commemorative Set. This updated deck is available as of 2015 under the name Smith-Waite Centennial Tarot Deck
My favorite book on Tarot was Tarot: Plain and Simple by Anthony Louis, used in conjunction with the Little White Book included in your deck. Not all Tarot decks are built the same; Rider-Waite-Smith isn’t the same as Marseille isn’t the same as the Thoth deck. But Tarot: Plain and Simple provided a good general beginner’s guide to RWS. After gaining some ease with that system, I moved over to Marseille and never looked back.
The best way to determine which system works best for you is to check out deck reviews. There are interesting discord servers and Facebook groups dedicated to deck reviews, spreads, and practice too!
And if you’re interested in different types of cartomancy, can I recommend Cory Thomas Hutcheson’s Fifty-Four Devils? It teaches readers to prophesy using playing cards. 100% my preferred method.
Whichever you choose, I wish you the best of luck! (And apologies for any formatting errors.)

Look maybe I'm just in a salty mood because I know this is gonna appeal to someone, probably, but as much as I love people getting into Tarot it makes me mad. Why would you buy a random card pulled by a random person who has as far as I can tell 0 knowledge of what she's doing to give you any insight into your life???
YOOOOO! this is crazy. The teen section at the library I work at is absolutely insane over this one. We have a copy for reference use only but i feel like we need more

I have The Modern Witch tarot deck and I absolutely love it.
So the mug source is https://www.lookhuman.com/design/84071-hermit-tarot-card/mug11oz-undefined-one_size . Based on some googling around, while I could be very wrong, it seems to be bespoke art for the site that they then threw at their products. a.k.a. "no deck".
I did find the Modern Witch Tarot Deck by Lisa Sterle at https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Witch-Tarot-Deck/dp/1454938684/ which is pretty flipping sweet. Not the same, but the Hermit does still have a laptop.
Read for:
- Yourself! Anyone says no is a poopyhead. Yes, they might not be accurate, especially if you are not honest with yourself, are anxious about the topic, ask the same question, etc. But if you take your time, go back after and see what the cards actually said for the situation, you will learn lots.
- The plot twist on your fave tv shows
- what the weather will be
- what your deck has to offer, thinks about you, how to learn it better, etc.
There are sooooo many things you can read about to develop your skills.
I highly recommend this book:

Best book on reading tarot in my experience.
The emphasis here is on paying attention to the cards and what you see, rather than pure meanings. That is, the meanings apply in the way that you see the cards interacting. The imagery is important - otherwise, they'd just be cards saying change / success / happy eyc, right?
Fpr example, say you have the 5 of Swords and the 7 of Wands, in reference to how to work with your boss.
(I picked these at random, and they already sort of answer the question, so not the best example, but lets continue anyway)
The important imagery here is that neither figure is paying any attention to the other. The 5S is looking off to the left, while the 7W is sorta looking ahead and to the right. So take that into consideration. To me, the 7W is the boss, and the querent is the 5S. The boss is focused on their own work, and the querent is focused on someone else's work, so the querent feel like the person in the "wrong" here.
To me, these clearly say "looking to the pastor someone else isn't going to get you anywhere, so do your thing and pay attention to what you need to do for you" and "you're doing the sunk cost fallacy thing - whatever it's been in the past is not what you should pay attention to".
I really think Kawaii Tarot is one of the best “simple” decks out there. It is extremely well written, very easy to use, but built around traditional interpretations.
Kawaii Tarot: A 78-Card Deck of Magic and Cute (Modern Tarot Library) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/1454929073/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_T9NQ2HX85CKBWQXS1WBS
Those are the dimensions and suits listed on the box. It's a tarot deck if that makes more sense. Maybe that's the size of the box itself? This is the exact deck if that helps. https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Witch-Tarot-Deck/dp/1454938684
Use this and set cards, representing the demons you're interested in on your altar.
Just a quick note about Tarot. Not everyone views Tarot as mystical, magickal, or even general "woo woo". This is a very commonly misunderstood aspect of Tarot.
Many people view Tarot ONLY as a tool of introspection (i.e., Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack that has nothing to do with fortune telling, etc.
