The Atlantis Gene is the first of a 3 part series that gets more absurd and out there with every passing chapter. It's basically what would happen if Shyamalan wrote a book and attempted to include a plot twist every 3-4 chapters.
It looks like the the cover for one of those bizarre amazon erotica books like "Pounded in the butt by my own butt" and "A Billionaire Dinosaur Forced Me Gay" Source: I was in high school and these titles were hilarious at the time.
If there is a book called "Pounded In The Butt By My Own Butt" on Amazon, there is a novel for your kink; or you haven't written it yet.
A book you want is The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers.

Nothing really epic happens in this book, which is what makes it so good. It just follows the crew of a ship that (best way to describe it) plots hyperspace routes on an adventure to plot a route further than anyone has gone before. Again, this is less full of sci-fi tropes and more character interaction. I recommend it to anyone. Also, it is a civilian ship, so no military.

I liked Firefly, and I liked this, they are different, but have lots of similarities.
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet is $1.99 on Amazon kindle right now. I picked it up the other day and binged thru it...someday I'll learn not to start reading a book at 1030 when I have to work the next day...lol. It was well worth the price, I enjoyed it and will probably get the next one too
Just thinking about it and re-reading your post, have you looked at Charles Stross's Laundry Files? If you liked The Dresden Files these may be right up your alley...
I seriously thought I was having deja vu. He did this before!
Anyways this post isn't strictly Amazon-related and is book-related, which breaks rule #5.
But it's motherfucking CHUCK TINGLE.
So I will make an exception. Because you don't mess with Mr. "Pounded In The Butt By My Own Butt" himself.
Wait, that was fake?
He wrote a book and everything.
i would say favorite title is probably classic of POUNDED IN THE BUTT BY MY OWN BUTT because of modernist simplicity. favorite BOOK that i am most proud of however is TRANS WIZARD HARRIET PORBER AND THE BAD BOY PARASAUROLOPHUS i just think i did very good job with this one and it makes me proud of myself
It's available on Amazon Kindle which you can read on a smart phone or even your computer.
If anyones looking for a fun Sci-Fi book and has an ereader
"Old Man's War" is on sale on amazon for $2.99
https://www.amazon.com/Old-Mans-War-John-Scalzi-ebook/dp/B000SEIK2S
I think its also on sale at googles store
if you are interested in this subject and like sci-fi i highly recommend that you read children of time
I think you want /r/TrekBooks
The only Trek book that I've read and enjoyed enough to remember anything about it is A Stitch in Time by Andrew Robinson, fleshing out his DS9 character, Garak.
I have a recommendation on a book for you to broaden your mind, people love people and that's perfectly fine, nothing wrong with it.
Here, read this book, it will help you see that love is real. ❤️
Makes sense. I'd check with Main street Books/Second Flight. They're (now) owned by the same folks, so they probably have a good line on any book clubs.
If you want a good "entry" book to SF/fantasy, check out Becky Chambers - specifically, the Wayfarer series. Here's a link to the first one. They're very wholesome, lovely books. There's not exactly romance in them, but in her books, everyone is doing their best and nobody wants to hurt anyone else.
Besides Chambers, there's a decent number of SF/fantasy books that are also thrillers, mysteries, and romance! I think the book club just read Project Hail Mary, which was definitely thriller-esque.
Altered Carbon (the books) might fit what you're looking for, although not progression fantasy.
I hate it when people post screenshots that show me only what they want me to see.
It has over 7200 reviews and 4.4 stars.
Stop going out of your way to be offended. JFC.
If you have a fighting game bouncing around in your head I'd suggest reading Iron Prince it does a wonderful job of balancing fighting/story in a very addictive and engaging way.
One man with the condition has become vocal about his two fully-functioning penises, though he refuses to reveal his true identity. Online he goes by the name of "DiphalliaDude."
In a Reddit "Ask Me Anything," DiphalliaDude gladly submitted pictures to prove his condition is real and happily answered questions others might have about life as a man with two penises. He revealed he is bisexual, has had sex with over 1,000 partners, and answered questions about the mechanics of dealing with two erect members at the same time.
He has also since released a book which offers even deeper insight into his sex life. The book has been a #1 bestseller on Amazon's LGBT biographies section for over seven months.
Came here to say that. Here's a link.
One of the authors is quite active on Reddit. They also have a Patreon, and are releasing chapters from Book 2 now.
Have him give Iron Prince a try. It's a very chunky book but if he likes games, it's a fantasy novel with stats, so it's like a real life scifi rpg. It's very binge-worthy. The characters attend a special academy where they learn how to develop their personalized scifi weapon for the purposes of eventually fighting hostile aliens on the frontier. Big emphasis on the sports aspect as well, as people compete with their scifi weapons in arenas for the masses, and the kids at the academy all battle one another in duels and tournaments.
The main draw is that the MC is a total underdog born with a crippling medical condition. With modern tech it's able to be treated but not cured. The MC's only hope is to prove he's worthy of being one of the few chosen to attend a special academy and get a scifi weapon (the weapons integrate with the whole body and have the potential to permanently keep his condition at bay). He works insanely hard for every small gain in the beginning and is very likeable and persistent. You just have to root for him. And when he receives his scifi device he really starts to take off, his limitless potential combined with his almost inhuman determination rocketing him to the front of his class. He makes awesome friends in the academy and the supporting cast are all great.

Highly recommend it. One of my favorite reads of 2021.
Audible Narration is the associated Audible audiobook. Here's an example that isn't part of the free Prime offerings:
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
The Kindle edition is on sale today for $1.99. Additionally, you can "Add Audible narration to your purchase for just $12.99." That's not such a great deal, but frequently, the combined price of the Kindle edition plus the discounted Audible version add up to less than the cost of a credit, making that the cheaper option (usually not a *lot* cheaper, but worth checking if you're on a tight budget). The discount used to be a lot better a lot more often, but scrolling through the Matchmaker, I do see some Audible versions of Kindle books I already own for under $8.
I recommend to you The Phoenix Project, a book that's written about IT but as a "thriller" novel if you can believe that lol. It's an informative read (or listen if you do the audio book) about that aspect of a business. Many older ones don't think they are a tech company when they in fact are one and are losing ground as a consequence of not seeing it from that perspective (i.e., seeing IT as a "cost center" when your business can't survive without it and you can't ship new ideas and products without developing code is an old school mentality holding many back).
Tbh Fiverr wouldn't be where I start looking for tech talent. Try Indeed, pony up the registration fees and use Indeed Prime. Don't get overly fixated on "tech interviews" of candidates especially if your business has nothing to do with inverting a binary tree type of nonsense.
There are A developers - you won't get those, they go to FAANG+M. B developers go to top start-ups and other big notable but non-FAANG+M companies. C developers work for huge corporates that think they are non tech but are really tech (think Home Depot, Walmart, etc).
You are looking for a B developer to drive this full time and maybe a C developer to grind out some work to free up the other guy to innovate and lead.
It might not be exactly what you are looking for, but I really enjoyed Iron Prince. Unfortunately there is only one book out for it right now, but the authors are working on more.
ok, cool! would you like to try something challenging? would love to hire you for a test bust of a character of mine: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KGT4CLQ

Dang, I showed up to recommend the night angel trilogy, but looks like you already read it. In that case, I'll strongly suggest any books by Will Wight. He's an absolute genius at the coming of age genre, and based on how similar our tastes are in books, I think you'll like him. (And I mean all of his books. I LOVE house of blades, and the whole cradle series is just...mwah. 10/10.) I've got a link to his amazon page ---> Here
You'll also probably enjoy Bryce O'connor's series Iron Prince. I posted a review of it on this reddit a bit ago, but I seriously loved it and I'd put money to say you would too. Here's a link to it --> Linkeroo
I hope this is of some help!
