It really comes down to personal preference. You could do two 4x4 tents, or what I plan on doing is taking my 8x4 tent and splitting it in half and having one tent for both flower and veg. The veg room, I'm using a t5 light and for flower using two gavita 6/750e flex. You'll also need fans for air movement and an inline fan and carbon filter to help smell. I keep recommending this tent and lights to people because the lights are some of the best on the market. They're a little more expensive, but completely worth the money in the long run. And those lights can be run on 120v or 240v.
Here is a link to the tent that I got.

I bought these from Amazon: Apollo Horticulture T5 Lights
They were only $53 each for the 2 foot 4 bulb fixtures when I ordered them last week, looks like they just went up in price a little bit to $61. This makes more sense, last week the 4 bulb fixtures cost $2 less than the 2 bulb fixtures. They had similarly bizarre pricing anomalies on their 4 foot fixtures that are now corrected as well.
As for distance from the bulb...certainly closer to the bulb equals better PAR availability, but I'm growing these to enjoy their beauty, not trying to cultivate something as quickly and efficiently as possible. I'm trying to balance having a display that both looks aesthetically pleasing (it looks weird with the light almost touching the plant surface) and is practical to get my hands in there for watering against having sufficient light to keep good plant coloration and prevent etiolation.
I could drop the light height somewhat and get them closer to the succulents which will be more efficient, but I want to know if the current light setup is sufficient enough to keep the plants healthy and looking good even if I'm not necessarily maximizing utilization of every photon emitted by the lights. Basically....knowing that I could get more out of the lights if they were closer, is this 'good enough' for healthy succulent growth? That's the part I'm not certain of right now.
I found these guys at my local home improvement store for $12-15:

Great for hanging those CFL's close to where they are most needed.
