my hairdresser has a water spray bottle for hair that has a continuous mist instead of having to pump spray. maybe you could DIY with something like that?
Exactly. A spray bottle works wonders. Or if you want to get fancy: https://www.amazon.com/Segbeauty-Continuous-Aerosol-Trigger-Hairstyling/dp/B07C533XCW/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=Spray+bottle+mist&qid=1573677647&sr=8-6
Thanks! You’ll really like this line, I think, it’s my HG now. Love your curls too!
Btw, you might use a spray bottle to refresh your hair between washing. These misters are really nice. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N7RLM7V?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_asin_title
Spray bottles are a god send to cool off especially on the really hot days.
Pro Tip: Do not spray people without asking!

Just get this and spray it once in a while. Problem solved, <$5.
Thanks! My best advice for noobs is: 1. Mist gently with a good water mister (I use this one: Beautify Beauties Flairosol Hair... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GRD5WLD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) 2. Be as sterile as you can. Nitrile gloves and 70% rubbing alcohol are essential. 3. Lots of patience.
Mush love to everyone! 🍄❤️🙏
I have to wet mine down each morning and scrunch with a bit of gel and leave in conditioner. This spray bottle is wonderful.
The muji sprays attachments actually fit the bottle exactly. I’ve also repoured into the muji toner bottle and used that spray attachment for a more reasonable hand size.
These long hold hair spray bottle are also amazing . So much easier then spraying a million times
Yeah, I wouldn't recommend that for misting. You need something that will aerosolize the water droplets. This makes big drops and you need tiny ones or you'll get pooling. Something kinda like this is better because it's mists gently and continuously for tiny little droplets, almost like an aerosol can.
But that fan might come in handy if you happen to already have that spray bottle with you.
That’s a lotta moisture. I recommend getting a water mister like this: Beautify Beauties Flairosol Hair... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0762GP85D?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Hold far above and let the mist fall. You only need an amount of water that will provide tiniest big of sparkle when shines on with a light.

I use these for just about everything that I can put in them, including diluted dyes. It's a great way to create a faux patina and get that beautiful vignette.
Yeah, I’ve been using a cheap spray bottle and it was okay, but this new mister is definitely stimulating pin development. Empty Spray Bottle -5.4oz/160ml... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W5S412S?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Btw, Here this one i was referring to: https://www.amazon.com/Sprayer-Continuous-Styling-Cleaning-Misting/dp/B07W5S412S/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=Spray+Mist+Bottle&qid=1610891564&sr=8-5
I recommend this one!

Oh, one suggestion if you do pick some up, though: The pump bottle it comes in isn't great. Spend a couple of bucks and get a good refillable fine mist spray bottle. I got one of these and it works great.
This is the mister I use! It's perfect! And yeah the velvet one I had didn't make it. I even bought it it's own personal humidifier and it wasn't enough :(
I personally use distilled but I’ve used tap water in a pinch to mist and to soak. I’m lucky to live somewhere with very clean tap water...if you don’t or have hard water, go with distilled. A gallon is like 89 cents at the store. But yeah one of those fine misters works great, definitely recommend over a normal mist/spray bottle. You want a beauty/hair spray type or “flairosol” type mister.
Not sure if I can add a link, but here’s the one I have and it’s perfect
This is the one I have my boyfriend accidentally double misted after I had already done it yesterday so I think that’s the cause
I just use my regular Lexol mixed with some water in a little spray bottle I got off amazon. I don't think this is the exact one I use, but I use something like this. Just find a conditioner that you personally deem to be environmentally friendly enough, and the entire mixture should be environmentally friendly. (Water usage isn't going to cause any environmental harm) I think a lot of the spray conditioners are aersol based, which could release some nasty chemicals into the air. This is just a little spritzer bottle which won't do that.
It depends on your hair type for sure, but after several months of trial and error I've found a method that keeps my hair looking nice (or better!) on days 2, 3 and 4:
• Sleep with my hair pulled up in a velvet scrunchie on top of my head ("pineapple")
• In the morning, spray it all until it's pretty damp but not soaking with one of these, and detangle it a bit with my fingers (hard to describe but I make this kind of pinching motion and tug down on the strands until they line up better)
• dispense a couple pumps of Innersense I Create Lift foam into my hands and scrunch it back up into my hair
• let it air dry and then scrunch out the slight amount of crunch
I do have a little bit of frizz, but it isn't bad, mostly it just looks like "volume." But it only takes about 5 minutes to refresh and really reliably looks good!
How much do you mist? Do you have a good water mister? This is the one I use: Beautify Beauties Flairosol Hair... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GRD5WLD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I might be wrong, but your substrate looked pretty dry from the pictures. Did you rehydrate your substrate overnight after harvesting? Mushrooms take in a lot of water from the substrate so it needs to be rehydrated for each subsequent flush. Hope that helps!
If water pools then I get a paper towel and barely touch the pool of water to soak it up, you're aiming for thousands of tiny beads of water across the surface. Then crack the lid an inch or so. Don't use a sprayer, use a hair mister for better results when spraying. Good rule of thumb is if you think you didn't mist enough, you probably did so stop. lol.
That's how I did my first bags, clear plastic bin hanging 8 inches off my kitchen table. It was an awkward pain in the ass to maneuver within the box in that way but it worked, no contam. Also you should be wearing nitrate medical gloves.
The spray bottle many of us use since it does a fine mist, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GRD5WLD/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
Gotta pay respects to someone else on here that directed me to this sprayer. I think it actually made a big difference. It’s a way finer mist than what I was originally using, almost like creating an artificial fog of himidity.
Definitely mistakenly misted the surface once. I am using an atomizer mister (link)
Fanning too aggressively isn’t something I’ve heard as a potential problem but i whip my lid with great force when I air out the tub, I’ll stop doing that :/
Yea, it did take forever to fruit and had some mild overlay (see prior posts) so you clearly are very knowledgeable and I really appreciate your time.
Dunked my other tub about 2 hours and it’s looking pretty mad too, but it’s also really dry.
When I rehydrate for my second flush, should I expect good moisture and the cake to no longer be pulling away from the sides of the tub? Should it literally be rehydrated like a sponge, because it didn’t seem to do that even after 2h of soaking. The cake is about 2inches thick.
Thanks again for all your help. First timer here, if you couldn’t tell :P
This is more of a curiosity than advice question, but: is anyone else allergic to the It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner? I don't have sensitive skin or scalp, but that stuff caused immediate allergic contact dermatitis. It's just weird. I couldn't figure out what ingredient was causing it.
That's a good point about the hairspray composition.

Out of curiosity, what are the ingredients in it?
This the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/Aqua-Net-Extra-Professional-Unscented/dp/B002K33AFM
