Dude get anti-persperant for your hands, its a life saver. This $7 bottle on Amazon will last you a year: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00476MDU8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ToG7BbZ0T9GRV
I'm a golf pro but I always struggled with my grip in warm weather cause my hands sweat perfusely. A little drop of this stuff and all you gotta do is run some cold water to refresh it every so often. You'll be good all day until you use soap.
I started using it for Smash and its helped a ton too. Totally recommend this product.
I know it’s not AB but this is my go to for my hands during the winter months O’Keeffe’s you should try it out if you haven’t yet.
This stuff is expensive but a ton of people swear by it Gloves In A Bottle Shielding Lotion for Dry Skin, 8 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000UBN5S8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Y2M5984N95C330BTZ1CK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
>My lips dry easily and sometimes* they crack.
I have the same problem.
You reminded me of this tip I still need to try. Had to dig a few months back into my comment history to find it.
From an AskMen thread titled, "Men who used to bite and pick their lips, how did you repair them and make them smooth again?"
Shared by /u/TenaciousSquee:
>Aquaphor works wonders for lips. You can buy it in almost any store: Walmart/Target, supermarkets, CVS, etc.
The user linked to a jar on Amazon. But under "Customers who bought this item also bought," there are pocket-sized tubes of Aquaphor that look more suitable for daily carrying around in your pocket or purse.
I wish I could find the exact thing, and I really can't vouch for this one, but this is the closest thing I could find on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Sulphur-Soap-Premium-Sulfur-Advanced/dp/B00CST4AS4). This was a bar of soap made locally in Peru..I've no idea if the soap I just cited will work as well ...sorry:( One thing though, I was totally used to non-stinging stuff for my kids up till then, but this does sting if it gets in their eyes, so you've got to do the scrubbing really quick and keep their hands soap free during the process. Good luck to you. Chiggers are no fun!
Sorry you're going through this :( Someone in a previous post talked about having good experience with O'Keeffe's Working Hands Hand Cream. I've used it too and it definitely burns when you first put it but within two days, my hands starts to heal.
Have you tried applying a shit ton of oil and then wearing gloves before going to bed? That helps lock in the moisture too. Good luck and I hope it gets better soon!
Which Aquaphor is the one mentioned a lot? There's two on Amazon UK, Aquaphor Healing Ointment and Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm.
I keep this in my bag and works really well.
Use plain rubbing alcohol to clean the pole to keep it from being slippery and also get some of this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00476MDU8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_anmbGbC7WWA8C
It helps so much! I sweat like crazy, it saved me.
I use it at night and I wouldn’t say greasy. It’s thick. I use the tub but you can get little lip tubes if you wanna try it out. Not sure if the formulas are different.

Have you tried a dry-grip lotion? I got some last year for hot humid days and it work very well! So this one is not the exact brand I use but the reviews on amazon are good. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00476MDU8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_D.5UAbWJQKHWV
Seconded. Working Hands is fantastic stuff. Put it on before going to bed and by morning it will have done it’s magic. They make a version for dry feet too.
Especially since you’ll be doing summer band in pretty humid weather, Dry Hands (or something comparable) can be really good for keeping your mallets from slipping in your hands. It was pretty popular among the pit when I was in the Mandarins pit for the past few years.
Amazon link (it comes in and out of stock): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00476MDU8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AHnmEb8PS14JM
Edit: Saw that you got a bass guitar spot and not a mallet spot. Maybe not /as/ important for you, but it’s worth considering for sure.
Yes. The exact same thing happened to me when I started working at Dominos. Could be from the cold weather, could be from the corn starch, could be from constant hand washing, or maybe all three. Get a container of O'Keeffe's Working Hands hand cream. Rub into the back of your hands and your palms after work and before going to bed and your problem will be solved in a week or two.
Hello to all who are commenting on the hands! Restaurant worker/fellow frequent hand washer here. Warm water+soap multiple times every hour will make your hands real dry in the winter. The tight gloves don't help either. Lotion alleviates a bit, but I've seen fellow employees with much ashier hands than this.
OP, if these are your hands, try Working Hands Cream! Shits bomb!
Aquaphor and Eucerine are different products… I actually, use both and find them extremely helpful!
Aquaphor is a product with the moisturizing consistency of Vaseline. It is an ointment I use for moisture and skin protection/buffering.

The Eucerin I buy is a cream body wash that’s made for and marketed for babies with eczema. I have stopped using even the most sensitive of soaps on my lady bits and rear end. A lot more forgiving and gentle for those parts, especially if you’re having a flareup and your skin is more sensitive than usual or dry, itchy, sore and/or broken.

Links to show you what the products are and look like in more detail. I would recommend checking out places like Walmart or local pharmacy if you’re not able to get it on Amazon for a reasonable price because the prices go up and down wildly on Amazon. The prices we pay for “convenience”, LOL 😂
I had similar looking rashes on my hands, lotions didn't help much then I discovered this stuff. Best hand creme I ever used, cleared the rash right up.

I’m thinking of buying Aquaphors healing ointmentwhen I have the chance and if I don’t find a good gentle cleanser I’ll not use any for awhile and keep myself hydrated
Just jumping in to add O'Keeffe's Working Hands hand cream to your list of things to try. It's definitely not luxe but it fixes my so-dry-they're-bleeding hands every winter!
Stumbled across your comment and wanted to say I believe this is the product you're referring to: https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Gripping-Solution-All-Sport-Topical/dp/B002ZAKOJK/ref=sr\_1\_24?crid=1SKUE973NPW8P&keywords=golf+grip+dry&qid=1657215884&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=golf+grip+dry%2Csporting%2C176&sr=1-24
You need some O'Keefe working hands. It will work wonders to help with those dried out cracking hands. You can only superglue everything back together for so long. This stuff works wonders. My brother had the same thing with his hands and after using the working hands stuff (or similar product it doesn't have to be that brand) they started to heal up within a week.
Nope, they are worthless.
I like the O'Keeffe's hand lotion pucks for screws. They have a screw on top and work great.
One strategy is to use a more intensive care moisturizer at night, when touching things isn’t a problem. When my hands were really dry, O’Keeffe’s Working Hands worked wonders even without using anything else during the day.
During the day, I’ve found using a small amount of Aveeno Skin Relief Hand Cream helps without being greasy. Just rub it in well, and give it a few minutes to totally absorb.
You can also try applying when fingerprints won’t be a big deal, like before lunch, rather than right before typing.
I'm sure you've probably tried everything, and gonna think I'm mental for suggesting this but try lworking hands. My hands have never been as bad as yours but they can get bad. Couple of days of this and it's gone. Way better than anything I've ever got on prescription. Just read the reviews on that link.
I use the Body Shop hand cream that comes in a little tube, like this. (There are others scents, too.) Alas, a lot of moisturizers sworn to not be greasy - like the O’Keefe’s mentioned here - are somehow still greasy on me.
Corn Huskers Lotion is another one that actually manages to be non-greasy for me, though I’m not a fan of the scent.
Oh my friend, I can relate. My OCD was at its worst in 2017 and my hands looked just like this. I tried so many lotions and creams and nothing worked. But one day I finally discovered O'Keeffe's Working Hands cream. It worked wonders for me. My hands cleaned up in no time. Put some on every night and morning. It’s pretty expensive but to me it’s well worth it. I still use it today when my hands get dry in the winter.
