A couple notes:
If you're interested in this but don't feel like making it, go here. Not trying to steal anyone's livelihood. Just felt like trying to make something.
Sounds kinda like my situation. My skin was sun-damaged. And although people always said I "looked my age", I always thought I looked older than I should. Tried retinol. Broke out. Was recommended bakuchiol as the natural retinol alternative, and have been using it since. REALLY like it. The one I'm using has a 10% bakuchiol formula and it's by Wildland. If that's too strong there are some others available that have reduced amounts of bakuchiol. Good luck, girl!
My skin is super sensitive to retinoids. I also have rosacea and freckles so hooray for me. :-( Anyway retinol makes me break out immediately so I've been looking for an alternative as well. I tried this bakuchiol serum from Wildland Botanicals that I get on Amazon and I'm kind of blown away. At first, there was no burning or rashes so I thought it wasn't going to work for me because I'm used to some kind of 'reaction'. But I figured I paid good cash for it so I'd see what I could get out of it. I treated it like a cleansing oil, rubbing it into my skin every night, taking off my makeup with it etc. a few weeks later for some unknown reason my rosacea wasn't as bad and I could actually see my skin and I realized my freckles werent as pronounced. Like I usually have a solid block of freckles across the upper part of my cheeks and this day they were - less. They were there but faded. So now I'm a FAN! No rashes, no breakouts and my freckles are fading!!!! It's real.
The thing is, coconut oil is pretty drying. I know, its an oil but it's a dry oil, if you will. Its also a 4 on the comedogenic scale, if that matters to you. Meaning it can often clog pores and make little red bumps. I use the ACV shampoo bar and on the site they have a scalp treatment oil that I've been eyeing. Its supposed to get rid of dandruff and other stuff that hinders hair from growing. Its got dht blockers. You might want to try that. [link] I dont have dandruff anymore but I've had some hairloss, I think because of crappy scalp/hair treatment for years... If anyone tries it let us know!!
Are you buying it on Etsy or Amazon? I'm not in Canada, but don't you guys get free shipping with Amazon Prime? Could help with the shipping cost. Here's the Amazon link.
I've been loving bakuchiol, sooo much gentler than retinol. I tried a few, and settled on this one. It's not fast acting like retinol, but in 3 weeks I did start noticing a difference. I use it every morning before applying makeup and every night before bed.
That's a good point. I'll stick with the ACV bar from Wildland. I've tried going completely WO but that didn't work, so I'm a low-poo girl now!! It's on Amazon so I think Aussies should be able to buy it.
I used to buy it on Etsy, but now I get it on Amazon. Hard to beat free two day shipping, man.
The best one I've found is the ACV bar from Wildlands. All natural, vegan product that soothes the scalp. It took me about two weeks to adjust to the shampoo, but my itchies are gone and my hair looks great too. I just love it. I get it on Amazon here. Good luck!
Sounds very similar to my situation. The only thing that's helped me is the ACV shampoo bar from Wildland Botanicals. It's on Amazon.
There are a few good ones, but the one I'd recommend is the ACV shampoo bar from Wildland Botanicals. It's not a liquid shampoo so there are zero preservatives in it to irritate your scalp. In addition to apple cider vinegar it's got Neem Oil, which really, really helps. Bonus points for good lather and good volume. You can get it on Amazon. Good luck!
Best plan is to use both, and that's my routine now. Niz 2-3 times a week, ACV bar on the off days. You gotta keep the ACV bar DRY between usages. One bar lasts me two months. I get mine on here on Amazon.
I tried making my own oil mix, but it's not for me. Just get something like ScalpWorks. It's got all the oils you need plus all the stuff you want. Check out the ingredient list. I'm really liking it...
I just got the courage to start one this week, and I must say I am happy I did. The link is below. It’s not perfect for IVF but any pages that don’t make sense I just put pictures over the words and write my own captions. I like this one bc it’s very plain and not cutesy. I also am not doing a shower or finding out the gender so again, just glued in more pictures and captions of my own. I like the prompts and didn’t feel too cheesy filling it out, instead I felt excited.
I don't know the Etsy page, but I got mine from Amazon
I sort of agree. I stopped using Nizoral, and I definitely don't think it's good for daily use. But yeah, that ACV bar helps. It's now on Amazon Prime too (really fucking love Amazon Prime). [link]
It's also on Amazon. Free 2-day shipping on prime. https://www.amazon.com/Wildland-Botanicals-ACV-Shampoo-Bar/dp/B0759ZNGJS/
The thing about damaged hair is usually once we stop using the silicone laden shampoo/conditioner we're looking at our actual hair. It's damaged sometimes. There are things we can do, like the ACV rinse to help, and oils and such but I think eventually it's probably better to just start cutting off the damaged parts or as much as we can until it's all fantastic healthy hair. I spent a lot of time trying to fix my damaged ends... I wanted my hair long and I didn't want to cut off that last 3 inches. So much time and money. Ugh. Anyway in the meantime, I'm thinking the ACV rinse sounds good, closing the hair shaft etc and some light oils. I like shampoo bars though, I dont know about chagrin valley as I'm an ACV Bar gal but the idea is the same, I presume. Natural ingredients that help your scalp...no sulfates and chemicals etc. If you decide you don't like the chagrin soap check out the shampoo bar I get on Amazon. I like it because it does a great job and I don't have to do the rinse afterwards cuz the acv is in it already. One less thing. :-)
I just saw this leather cover on Amazon tonight when I got home. Added it to one of my lists right away. Fits A5 so should fit the Rhodia notebook fine I’d think.
Yes! Once I had a really bad rash that wouldnt go away and my mother in law gave me some and it totally worked in a couple days. (smells like crap though!! Like burnt garlic and peanutbutter, but a little worse) Anyway I use a shampoo bar now with neem oil in it and it's totally healed my scalp. I don't know if its the neem in particular but I love it. Check out this shampoo bar that I get on Amazon. There are no sulfates like Lush has and coconut oil can be drying. The shampoo smells much better than the neem oil, trust me.
The thing about Lush is they have sulfates in most of their shampoos. (even the bars) That stuff will dry your scalp. If you like bars, check out this one that I get on Amazon. Lush used to be much more natural than they are now. They're still better than some but I think the product isnt worth the price. The oils in the ACV bar will leave your scalp nice and healthy. The rest rinses off. Best shampoo I've used.
I that the ACV Bar from Amazon? I use that too. Totally took care of my scalp. I think my hairs getting thicker.
TIC because our pregnancy journal came. It is simple and perfect. I think this means I need to start taking some pictures.
Seriously though, I am not a crier but I have been holding back tears every night while watching TV. Anything baby related, strong emotions good or bad, etc makes me want to cry.
I also love bakuchiol. I can't use retinoids with my sensitive, rosacea's skin. It immediatly flares into a ugly bumpy rash. I've been using this handmade bakuchiol serum that I get on Amazon. It's totally helping with my freckles and I use it as a moisturizer too. I put it on in the morning before I do my hair and let it soak in. Then when I'm ready to put on my makeup if theres anything left on my skin that hasn't soaked in I just rub the rest in or wipe any excess off. I put on my purito green sunscreen and I'm ready to put on my makeup. Anyways it's really good stuff.
I posted asking about pregnancy journals on here a few weeks ago. I got some good recommendations and ended up getting this one from Amazon:
Pregnancy Journal, Black and White: A nine-month journal to document every important pregnancy milestone [link]
I like it's style. It's not too "corny" which is something I was trying to avoid since I'm not really a write down my feelings type of person. There is one page about writing letters to your baby which I didn't really care for so I'm just going to remove that page (easy to do with the spiral binding).
I'm not into journals or diaries either, but wanted to do one for the pregnancy. Seemed like it would be cool to look back on. I bought this one, it has a short section for each week starting at week 6 were you can write whatever you want. It also has highlight page for each trimester and a page for all the major dates like day you found out, first appt, first kick etc. So far I really like it!
Hey! Most people use 35pt top loaders for Prizm, but some complain it is a bit tight. So 35 or 40pt depending on your preference.
As for the hobby box, they seem to be similar in size to pokemon booster box, and there are acrylic cases for those that work very well!
Pokemon Acrylic Premium Elite Trainer Box Display Case Box Quality/Framing Acrylic Grade [link]
I got this one on Amazon! I liked it because it was pretty plain and not too cutesy. I still haven’t started filling it out though 😬
Pregnancy Journal, Black and... [link]
They make fake book spines to hide stuff on shelves. Not sure if you can find something big enough for the Xbox, but something like this.
I’ll attach the link, but I would find them elsewhere. These ones seem like they are 3D printed, and have some very sharp edges. I would never buy them again. Here’s a ton of them on amazon. I’d check reviews.
These are the ones I got that you should avoid.
Unfortunately no, they are pretty much custom. You can give this a try but it leaves space according to the picture. However you can see this custom one.
The target cereal box was funny, it was made for cereal yet it fits real snug on a etb.
I don't think I'll ever do a sealed booster box collection (expensive as hell seeing if you wanted to open one and keep another sealed) so I won't have a big experience in that. I just don't see the appeal compared to 1st edition nostalgia. I can see in 20 years VV booster box could become expensive (vintage) because it first introduced 6 AR (infinity stones-I saw a post here)
Got 1 VV booster box for when they were going for $119.99 until a month later it went crazy, I only wanted one for me.
These work great and are really sturdy.

So I found this for booster boxes at least. I’m still looking for ETBs or other products.

I like the ACV Herbal Shampoo Bar - Its got the Saw palmetto and Nettle which are DHT blockers, Neem oil which is antifungal (which is mostly all keto is) and a bunch of anti inflammatory oils. It's $13.95 on Amazon prime.
I'd suggest massaging oils into your scalp. Got the idea from reading others here, and it's the only thing that's working for me. I leave it in for about 20 minutes before showering. If you've got the patience, you can mix your own oils (gotta get your percentages right). Or buy your oils pre-blended, there are some good ones out there, just search Amazon. I'm using ScalpWorks, it's got everything and it's helping. Good luck, man.
...Or you could just get something already made. I started using [this scalp serum]( https://www.amazon.com/ScalpWorks-Nourishing-Treatment-Natural-Blocker/dp/B07GD84W12/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=scalpworks&qid=1553789690&s=gateway&sr=8-1 ) which has a bunch of DHT blockers and oils like castor oil, pumpkin seed oil, peppermint and neem oil etc. A lot better for my skin, I think than minoxidil, which really made my scalp irritated and itchy. I'm pretty sure this stuff can be used by women as its topical and its on Amazon Prime.
Sulfate based shampoos will always strip your hair of its natural oils. I know you said you've tried multiple shampoos but have any of them been really sulfate free? Maybe if you tried something less harsh it would be better. I use this shampoo bar that I get on Amazon but there are a lot of gentle shampoos that might be better. Bobloblaw878 is right. Check out r/nopoo. GL!
I got some bakuchiol on Amazon [link] and I'm liking it. My skin feels really good after using it. It looks... softer? It's also got squalane, which I've recently learned if also great for skin. Highly recommend!
I've been using https://www.amazon.com/Bakuchiol-Natural-Retinol-Alternative-Moisturizer/dp/B07Q25XXZL/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=bakuchiol&qid=1565642276&s=gateway&sr=8-3 that I get on Amazon and its been great on my skin. I got it about a month ago and its really working on my freckles and generally brightening my skin. I've tried retinoids in the past and it always made me break out in a rash. Like immediately. This stuff just feels so good on the skin and really moisturizes. No dryness. It seems to last a long time cuz I've been using it every morning after I wash my face and there's still like half a bottle. I'm not sure how it works except its supposed to support cellular turnover etc. So glad I discovered it since I really don't like using retinoids. I haven't had any purging.
I got it from D&M Leather Studio. Hand made and affordable. Took less than two weeks to get. I had Romans 8:28 embossed on the front.
I used amazon. Here’s the link:
Personalized Leather cover for Leuchtturm 1917 Medium A5 Notebook/Minimalist leather journal cover for Leuchtturm1917 JOTTBOOK A5 - LA505S [link]
Yeah I found something here's the link [link]
It's a little out of my price range at the moment lol
But hopefully this will help with your collection :)
I ordered this for a pregnancy I lost. I am going to order again.
In terms of an app, I really liked Journey. It's simple, you can upload pictures, sort and tag posts.
I agree that Lush USED to be good, but now they have gone the route of using sulfates to cut costs. Worse than anything I've used too! The one shampoo bar that actually works for me is the ACV bar by Wildland. I get it on Amazon, think it's around 16 bucks.
Nizoral left my hair and scalp fried. Dry and itchy and my hair felt like a fire hazard. It wasnt worth it. I guess it was because I was already sulfate free and it was just too harsh for me. I use a shampoo bar I get on Amazon (I think its also on Etsy). Going sulfate free and I think the addition of all the great ingredients including saw palmetto, nettle leaf and rosemary its turned my hair loss around. I know I'm sensitive to sulfates so this thing is perfect. No rash, or red spots, my scalp is pink and healthy and my hair is really really healthy. Check out the reviews.
I ended up on this shampoo bar that I get on Amazon. It's seriously the best thing Ive done for my hair ever. It's got antifungal stuff in it and it makes my scalp really nice and healthy. My hair is somehow softer but stronger? Cant recommend enough.
I do pretty much the same. Started massaging ScalpWorks into my itchy areas. It's been helping. I get it on Amazon and it's got all the good oils in it. Saw Palmetto, Ecklonia Cava, Peppermint, Neem Powder, Cuskuta Seed, Pygeum Bark, Green Tea, etc. Just warm up a little on the fingertips and massage it in.
I also hear great things about Estee Lauder double wear. I'm going to Ulta this week to check it out. I've heard recently that there have been fakes selling on Amazon so beware there but yeah, I've had problems with oily skin and makeup too. Currently I'm using Maybelline Fit Me Matte and thats ok for a good 6 hours. I would definitely have to touch things up after that. Combined with the same powder it does a decent job throughout the day but some days are better than others.
I use this bakuchiol serum and this sunscreen by purito (great stuff!) and random primers and the Fit me still stays on.
> you have to be careful with the % you use in your solution
Exactly why I didn't want to do it myself. I just get ScalpWorks on Amazon so it's all done for me.
I don’t know if it would arrive in time for Christmas, but this journal is one I’m looking at for my son. It takes A5 sized refills.
If you want something more pocket sized, I just bought this beautiful cover to go in my purse. It’s not personalized, but it’s so pretty I don’t care. It takes 3.5”x5.5” Field Notes type notebooks.
Good luck! Hope you find something great!
Good point about the harshness of tea tree oil. I was recommended ScalpWorks for my scalp condition (my scalp's dry and a little scaly at times, which is just weird) and it's been helping. There's no tea tree oil in it. Instead its got stuff like jamaican black castor oil, pumpkin seed oil, neem oil, cuskuta seed oil, ecklonia cava and burdock root. I just massage a little in before bed and wash it out when I shower in the morning. It seems to be helping...
Daily washing seems to be ok as long as you're not using something harsh like Nizoral or Head and Shoulders. There are other antifungal shampoos that might work without all the chemicals. I use this that has antifungal properties but doesnt dry my scalp out. I tried Nizoral a while back (scalp issues along with hair loss so...) and it was super drying. My hair was breaking with 2x/week usage. Anyway maybe try something more gentle. I started off using it every day but after using this shampoo I don't need to wash as often. e:formatting
I'm using this now. It's super natural, no ingredients that I don't understand and my scalp is really happy.
Maybe try some topical oils? I see a lot of posts about pumpkin seed oil, castor oil, emu oil, etc. I came across this one the other day and it looks like it's got all the right stuff.
I use a shampoo bar that doesnt have any sls involved. Its really helped my itchy scalp. I've heard of some people on this sub that use it once a week and the rest of the time they use whatever they normally use... I use it once a week and the rest of the time is water only. I'm trying to heal my scalp, thinking that maybe the hair will grow better on a pink healthy scalp. Anyway the shampoo works great. check it out.
Have you tried Wildland Botanicals ACV Shampoo Bar? It sounds like it might fit the bill for your routine and needs.
Discovered this through some posts on /r/NoPoo and though I haven’t traveled with it yet to see how it performs in other water sources, it seems to clean well when I use it every 1-2 weeks (and a lot less expensive than my daily co-wash stuff).
I have a pendant and bracelet in the trans flag colors that I love to wear, in addition to the obligatory choker.
I wear this trans pride necklace pretty much every day. Pretty much only people 'in the know' will recognize what it means. I've had a number of compliments on it too..
