He is way out of line and frankly I’m afraid for you. Does your bedroom door have a lock on it? You can get a travel lock like this which can’t be picked and doesn’t require any installation.
Honestly I’d try to move out of there as soon as possible.
I’m glad you’re okay and was able to get away. I can’t believe the door didn’t lock from the inside! Make sure to contact Airbnb about that as well as give a bad rating explaining why. That is a very dangerous set up for anyone staying there. This is good to travel with: https://www.amazon.com/Addalock-Portable-Travel-AirBNB-Lockdown/dp/B00186URTY
chain locks are useless, get something like this or the ones like they use in hotels that have the u bar and the nob (no idea what they are called) and make sure it is amputee dwarf bondage porn i mean if you are going to go for it go for broke man...

Thanks for looking, have an awesome day!
I recommend this portable door lock, provided it works with the doors in your Airbnb. I use this for a bit of extra security when needed. It’s great for hotel rooms as well. It can take a minute to get it jammed in properly but it makes so someone cannot get in even if they have a key. Best of luck to you, stay safe. Edit: spelling mistake
Defense in Depth:
1) good neighborhood (sounds like this is out)
2) sturdy doors/doorjambs, multiple locks (knob, deadbolt, chain, this thing)
3) fence/fence-like shrubbery
4) bright motion-activated outdoor-lights
5) alarm system
5a) dog
6) camera system
7) firearm
Something like this might be helpful to you, unless you think it'll cause her to escalate. Ripping the door open like that is sexually abusive, though. You have a right to your privacy.
Looks nice and cozy :) I think because the counter is so thicc, it may look good with furniture risers like these to get some negative space. But that could also make it too tall...
I bought an Add-A-Lock from Amazon for about $15. There are other brands of portable locks out there as well, and they prevent someone coming into your room even if they have the key!
I say invest in 2 things: a door wedge and an AddALock device.
If your door has a good latch bolt on it, you don't have to invest in a whole lock. I've discovered an invention called an AddaLock that just fits right in the little slither between the door and door frame. When it's locked in place, it keeps the door from ever opening, regardless of how hard you try to open it. Of course, it's only as strong as the door's wood.
Amazon link - it's small and easy to install, and it really works.
EDIT: You cannot lock a door from the outside with the AddALock. It only works from the inside. Keep that in mind.
I know someone posted a door brace, but this one is a much more portable option that would still do the trick.

Just got this from Amazon the other day. I love it. Take it with you anywhere. Works great. I leave my home at 1am and my kids and wife stay at home alone and this makes her feel much much more secure.
We got flippers like these for all exterior doors after Kiddo (then just turned two) opened the front door and let the dog out. I 100% recommend them - they’re dead simple for adults to work, but he can’t reach them and they’re just tricky enough that he can’t pop them open with a broom handle (he’s tried).
They are cabinet legs.

Oh god that’s awful. Keep notes and screenshots of all the accounts in case this escalates. Be ready to get the police involved. Buy one of those locks to double lock your door.
It's a portable door lock.

Bad solution to a solved problem.
We have two of these in our house for home defense, one for a downstairs office and one for the bedroom, and might get more. It's 1/3 of the price, takes <1 second to set, and can withstand 800lbs of force (not including the extra strength from the doorknob).
I honestly recommend anyone get one. We have firearms to defend ourselves, but, it saves a lot of moral and legal problems to just stop them from getting to us in the first place while we wait for the cops.

This is an extra lock you can put on almost any door for extra security. Even if someone has a key & unlocks the door itself, they will still be unable to open the door. I recently got one for my apartment & I read a review of a woman who used this & it ended up saving her. Two apartment mx workers came into her apartment while she happened to be getting out of the shower & was naked. They apologized & left as she was shouting at them to leave. She bought one of these immediately. Later, one of those same guys tried coming in. She was yelling at him through the door & he said he was just trying to apologize again.
Get on Amazon and buy at least one Add A Lock. It’s a portable lock that keeps someone from opening your door even if they have the key. You can only use it when you’re in the room, not when you leave. But it sounds like this is what you need anyway. You deserve to feel safe in your own home OP, find a new place ASAP!
Came to recommend this, specifically this kind of lock which doesn’t require special install so is perfect for an apartment. Addalock - (1 Piece ) Portable Door Lock It doesn’t look like much but will keep your door locked even if someone has a key.
Ramadan is from May 5th until June 4th this year per Google.
Add a door brace or door stops for when you are in your room.
Is getting a hotel or airbnb for a couple of nights a week an option?
We had those - kid outsmarted them.
But he couldn't outsmart a latch installed way above reach. https://www.amazon.com/Defender-Security-10827-Door-Reinforcement/dp/B00D2K367Y/ref=sr_1_13?dchild=1&keywords=childproof+front+door&qid=1611015262&sr=8-13
The fact that there are a bajillion different types of child safety latch on amazon should let you know that no, this isn't something that has just happened to you.
Oh hell no. You are not overreacting. That is scary as fuck.
Since you said that you can't use a deadbolt, I would get a doorstop or figure out another way to stop someone from opening the door until things are figured out. Maybe something like this, or even use a chair.
Depending on where you live, you should have a tenant advocacy board in your province/city you can contact. They may also be able to get you out of your lease if you guys just want to get out of there, or help you deal with this issue. It should be relatively easy to find if you google them up. If you have time, I would consider calling the police non-emergency line and asking them for advice because to me, this is more than just a landlord issue. This man came into your home and was looming over your roommate as she slept like a fucking predator.
I'm sorry you guys are dealing with this. No one should feel unsafe in their own home :(
NTA - OP, if the landlord won't let you install real locks, there are portable locks and door jammers you can use. Here's an example: https://www.amazon.com/Addalock-Portable-Travel-AirBNB-Lockdown/dp/B00186URTY
Maybe off topic but since we are speaking on home security it kinda fits. I was a residential door installer for years. I have replaced countless doors I to people's homes. You would not believe how many doors I've seen installed with 1 inch screws. Check and replace these screws with 3 inch screws. They are usually long enough to hit the framing of the house and add strength. Also many doors do not have deadbolts so the cheapest and easiest solution to this I have found is an amazon product. Very easy to Install with a drill and feels very sturdy. It can only be locked from the inside how ever so best use is for a door in a garage or back door.

I had to have separate bedrooms and I bought a lock for the door so she couldn't get in. Eventually I just had to get my own home.

These work great if you have enough space between the door and the frame. You are supposed to router out the frame so they sit flush, but a few of my doors had enough space to avoid it.
Hey, the same thing happened to me... at one point when I was about 14 almost 15 I realized that I was bigger and marginally stronger than my mom so I was able to brute force her out of my room. Soon after I purchased a Hotel Door Lock for like 15 bucks and was able to lock her out of my room. After months of pushback she finally let up. I am 16 now and I am having no issues with that particular problem, its very important to remember to lock your door every night though.
NTA.
Stop letting him into your room. You can't make your mom pay you, so just stop watching him for you.
On other threads with room entering issues I've seen people suggest getting a portable door lock/hotel room door lock/whatever they want to call it. Here is an example I found on Amazon with a lot of reviews including review videos where they show the product used.
A doorstop might be enough like someone else suggested?
Anyway, I'd focus on just keeping your door closed since that's what you can control and it's nonconfrontational. If anyone asks say you're doing schoolwork.
