Similar to what other people have said, I run with a thin belt. I have this one and love it. I used to run with an arm band (including two half marathons) or would try putting my phone in my leggings pockets. It was all terrible. The belt really changed everything for me! I barely notice it. Ignore the first photo that they include in that link—they stuffed it with all kinds of things to show you that it can hold a lot, but it ends up making it look bulky. It's actually extremely thin and light.
Been using this one all summer and it's the shit! It can be found cheaper than what Amazon has.
These are some of my foraging bag wants: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B12MBDS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_0582GCRFTNP2NNKR99PF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I like that it's water resistant and folds up. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079YHP63G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_F5AXGY38XTBBFC8FGJHD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I like this one because of waterproof liner, dropout bottom, wearable on the front of the body and a rigid mouth that stays open.
If you want to try a belt, this one is only $17 on Amazon and it fits my Galaxy S8+ with plenty of room for gels, gu, keys, id, etc... But nothing bounces around even when it's just a phone. Sport2People Running Pouch Belt, USA Patented, Runner Waist Pack iPhone X 6 7 8 for Men and Women (black, one size, 2 pockets) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019BQNTL0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_8bP8Cb25VNCMZ
I found a thing! For those of you interested in purchasing instead of crafting.
Also has dimensions in the pictures for reference.
Personally I don't see why it's a good thing to have a separate source from your phone for something like podcasts. Don't you want to keep track of playback progress across activities?
I used something like this when I used to run: Running Belt
I hate saddle bags and back packs. This running belt is perfect for me. Tools and phone and no bounce. I strap a spare tube to my bike. I ride XC mostly. Most times after a ride I forget I have it on since you can cinch it tight on your hips.
Knock off flip belt -- I got one from Amazon that's no longer sold, but this is similar: https://smile.amazon.com/Sport2People-Pouch-Belt-USA-Patented/dp/B019BQNTL0/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=running%2Bbelts%2Bfor%2Bwomen&qid=1651698653&sprefix=running%2Bbelt%2Caps%2C182&sr=8-6&th=1
Mine is adjustable so I could dial in the fit (I don't think most flip belts are) and it has zippered pockets which give me peace of mind. I find wearing it with my phone sitting at the small of my back works best for me -- I have wide hips so wearing it lower just led to the belt sliding up and bouncing around.
Sure do! Btw I noticed a good keyword to find interesting Star Wars style clothing/accessories is "motorcycle". Jackets, pants, and bags are all very Star Wars.
It was unreal🤣. I also would suggest a runners belt that has a zipper. You can put money on your person without it being obvious, tacky and bulky like a Fanny Pack. This is the one I bought for my upcoming trip. But there are many others. Safe travels to you!

I have that one for running and it’s a bit too small for a festival imo. This one can’t hold 2 phones and my wallet.
I have this one for festivals and it works perfectly. I generally use the extra sole pocket for forbidden items.

I agree with the other two users, the cheaper alternative seems to work just fine. I got this one.
Yes! I run with this belt but it’s also my designated travel belt as well whenever I visit Brazil and other risky countries. I always keep my credit cards and cash inside, and it’ll even fit my iPhone 12 Pro.

I have the original flip belt without zippers- I used it during a half and it worked. I had backup headphones, smaller iPhone, 2 packs of sport beans, and ID. And a small 6oz liquid flask. It was very snug, but not a problem in cold weather.
I tried this generic belt with zipper pouches from Amazon during a half last weekend. I didn’t want anything tight for a warm weather half. I wore it on my natural waist and didn’t bother me during the run. It held my iphone mini, a pack of sport beans, cards, 20 dollar bill, a few ricola drops. It was good enough for that, but not much extra room.
sport2people Running Belt for Men... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019BQNTL0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I have this running waist band. which works awesome to hold my key fob and phone. Hardly even know it’s there. Plus seems less likely to get smashed on my lower back.
Tbh there is this kick ass looking, like, steampunk thigh bag I've always wanted but have literally no use for.
I never have luck running with a clunky phone in my shorts; I use this running belt and it works well.
Good work...there is a couch to 5k training program available that has gotten plenty of people of all shapes and sizes to build a solid base...even if you don't want to run an actual 5k race I would say this program sounds like it works for first starting out again so why reinvent the wheel...after you're done with the program then you can figure out other training programs....
I wear a running belt that holds my phone around my waist it's this one and it has worked well for me

The fanny pack I have is more like a fanny duffle.
Maybe just grab a running belt? I've had a couple of these and they're great. Waterproof and plenty big to hold my S21+ in a wallet case as well as my keys. Doesn't bounce either, which is super important.
I’ve found running with a minimal Fanny pack is the way to go. Can put it right under your shirt if you want. Here’s what I use for my phone and a dog poop bag for when the pups are with me -

I'm not sure about 3 liters, but you can try searching "mtb hip pack". I think most have 1.5l bladders though. This dakine one holds 2 liters.
I use this fanny pack. It's adjustable so it doesn't slide down, it has lots of space but is pretty flat to the body, and it's great quality. I personally love it, because I can wear whatever I want (leggings, bike shorts, running shorts, jeans, etc) without worrying about the fanny pack coming off.
I currently have a toy, two pockets for treats, a water bowl (I have a water bottle sling separate), a Swiss Army knife, a clicker, poop bags, my phone, my keys, and still room to spare. I also carry wet wipes around occasionally, which fit in nicely.
Alternatively, I have a small backpack that hold a bit more for days when I'm going further or its hotter. It's water proof, light, and easily washed and can hold 3 water bottles, a water bowl, my wallet, my keys, my phone, a set of dog booties, and a couple extra leashes. I normally keep the treats in my fanny pack still, just to limit the mess.
A lot of people here like the flip belt but I personally haven’t tried it. I have this one. Like I said in the other comment reply, it fits my phone (iPhone 11 pro max) with a fat case. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019BQNTL0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_c5SOFbTHQDZJW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
When I go on my runs (at least an hours worth) I put my z fold 2 on a slim belt bag linked below, and keep it on my lower back so it doesn't interfere too much. It's this one specifically:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019BQNTL0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dlC_oPGLFbFRCA0Z6
It should be slim enough to not be bothersome during a run, while carrying your phone, and easy to pull your phone out in case you need to change songs. Can't imagine this thicc z fold being on my arms, it'll be too heavy when swinging my arms.
Though IMO if you want to be able to track your fitness and change music on demand I definitely recommend getting a smart watch. I use a galaxy watch3 to make my life easier during my run since you can download your spotify music to it, and connect bluetooth as well. I still carry my z fold on that belt bag though in case I need to contact someone.
I skate with my phone on me in one these. It's not the one I use but the first I could find to get my point across. I have yet to fall on my groin area so I guess this would be a safest spot to carry a phone with ya while skating.
I’m gonna order this running belt off amazon. It’s got a zipper that will hold your phone and valuables. Looks to be very comfortable and I plan on having my shirt drape over the belt so it’s out of sight.

Arm bands are great, but I personally don't like them. I like to use my arms to carry me through hard runs. I always felt restrained, uncomfortable, and uncertain if it'll hold. I recently got a belt and enjoy it much more.
I really enjoy Runkeeper It has all the basics such as splits, pace, and miles. I bought the premium version ($39.99 USD a year) and it has all these training features too!
I think the reviews are mixed here. I think it comes down to personal preference. All though running through sand or mud is more energy cost. I would say run on a mix of surfaces and see which one you like the most. Just be carful on trails, dirt, and grass. You can seriously hurt yourself if you're not careful.
