it's just sort of a sweet and spicy honey, it goes well with the richness of the cheese, savory pepperoni, and crust
If you're interested in spicy honey, I have an unsolicited recommendation: Mike's Hot Honey.
https://www.amazon.com/Mikes-Hot-Honey-12-oz/dp/B011LWRBES?th=1
If you live in the NYC area, you can find it at Whole Foods. I first had the stuff on a pizza, immediately fell in love and have been buying it since.
I really enjoy spicy honey on pizza. (Mike’s Hot Honey)
Mike's Hot Honey 10 oz Easy Pour Bottle (1 Pack), Honey with a Kick, Sweetness & Heat, 100% Pure Honey, Shelf-Stable, Gluten-Free & Paleo https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B085B1YZ8Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KCAW7JSQ1A02E981BE69?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It wasn't the most ingenious idea I've had since it's advertised by the hot honey company but it was really good.
Much like eating the honey by itself or on something neutral like a chicken nugget, the spice is mostly in the "finish", with a little lingering heat around when you swallow the food, rather than setting your mouth on fire right away.
I’ve started using Raw Manuka Honey I found on Amazon, Wedderspoon, Raw Premium Manuka... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014AP5JUG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. I’m on my second week of using every other day and I’m noticing slow progress against the redness, flakes and itching on my face. It’s very slowly helping with some scars as well.
I had realistic expectations since almost every I’ve tried hasn’t helped in the long term. I’m hopeful but feel optimistic about this treatment. I just let the shower rinse it off sometimes. Every other time I use a microfiber cloth to do some light physical exfoliation. I use a light moisturizer after every time.
I would suggest getting some small silicone spatula to help you apply the manuka honey easier and cleaner. I use these 2 PCS Silicone Face Mask... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075K72NRW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share.
The honey masks are worth a try. It feels pretty soothing when it’s on. I often wash off enough so they’re still a little bit of a film of the honey on my face when I apply the moisturizer. It’s gonna be trail and error on applying it. I hope it helps, good luck!
There is a low-carb honey-flavored allulose and monkfruit sweetener available on Amazon: All-u-Lose Natural Rare Sugar Sweetener, Non-GMO Allulose - Honey 11.75 fl. oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X93YBF9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_qePyBb138F3A4 It's 0.59 net carbs per teaspoon.
Ordered it off amazon! Mike’s Hot Honey - Extra Hot, 10 oz Easy Pour Bottle (1 Pack), Hot Honey with an Extra Kick, Sweetness & Heat, 100% Pure Honey, Shelf-Stable, Gluten-Free & Paleo-Friendly https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089ZV33CW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3lZkFbT2Q015B
Sorry dunno how to embed link in text.
Ha - you are too kind! Glad to find a deep dish kindred spirit.
I like mikes hot honey - not sure if available in your area but teh interwebz does provide if interested
I have bought this one, but they seem to be out of stock at the moment.
I love allulose. It's not a sugar alcohol so no cooling effect. I also buy granular. It's great in sauces and will caramelize for things like Vietnamese caramel sauce. Works great for anything chewy like brownie bites, but not for cookies. I don't make much of those kinds of things though, only for company/holidays.
Aparently it already exists: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Natures-Hollow-Substitute-Diabetic-Xylitol/dp/B010AIER0K
However I'm not sure it will be any good, I think making sugar free honey that is used in a processed product require a much lower quality bar than sugar free honey by itself
They make hot and extra hot! I’m definitely trying extra hot next! It’s so good dipping pizza in lol sounds odd but I love it!

My fiance accidentally bought me this for christmas instead of the regular. I actually ended up preferring it. Might be worth a shot Mike's Hot Honey - Extra Hot https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089ZV33CW/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_imm_t1_Fb18FbQK4ZVJX
Seitan:
Dry Ingredients:
Wet Ingredients:
"Honey" Glaze:
Pre-heat oven to 425 Fahrenheit
Mix dry ingredients in one bowl and mix wet ingredients in another
Combine in intervals about two cups of the wet mix into the dry mixture until you get a nice dough that should not be too wet or sticky. You want to save some of the wet mixtures because you will be using that to baste in the oven.
After you make the dough, put it in a casserole dish and then submerge it with the remainder of the wet mix.
Bake on one side for 25 minutes then flip and bake on the other for 25 minutes as well, while basting in between. (You'll know it's done when the liquid is all but gone)
After it is done in the over, remove and let it chill for a bit
While it's chilling, you can make the glaze.
Just put the vegan honey on a saucepan and simmer until it is thin.
Once that is done slather the honey glaze on the seitan and cook it on a cast iron or skillet until it caramelizes.
You can add the little skewer marks with just a knife for aesthetic purposes if you so wish.
Sorry if it is a little hard to follow, I kind of just made this up as I was going. I am by no means a professional or someone who does blogging recipes or anything! Good luck!
I just went on Amazon, searched "pure honey", and the first result was this.
$12.28 for 32 Oz of pure honey.
I think you might be overpaying for your honey...
There is also vegan honey at Amazon and Vegan Essentials.
Costco has it but I found better on amazon. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B014AP5JUG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
A bit expensive but I'm assuming you want it for the health benefits. BTW - Costco in the US has a good one, not here in Canada
Hey man, I know this is a month old but I saw your post recently and was looking to try honey regardless. I bought this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006MWDFUC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just wanted to know how your results went day by day? Because I did it for the first time today and redness was much better, but it almost seemed like my skin was even more flaky than before I applied it. Thanks.
this is the product FYI
PS now that I know you are a chemist, prepare to be tagged anytime I have a chemistry question, which is A LOT
I just did some research and a lot of people are saying that honey is a good maple substitute. For low sugar, you can try this.
If the honey flavor is too potent, you can try experimenting with adding some vanilla extract and cinnamon powder.
Monkfruit is also good.
If you're trying to make pancakes or waffles, try mixing fruit in the batter such as peaches (antioxidants and many other benefits), bananas (potassium), blueberries (antioxidants), or dark chocolate (antioxidants, helps with blood pressure, and good stress-reliever). You can also add in the batter some cinnamon to make it super tasty too!
That sounds awesome. See if you can order this from amazon up there.

This is what I used, it’s $22 for 3 pounds kinda expensive, but honey is expensive haha the way I think of it is spending $22 for a gallon of delicious mead is not too bad.
