In my old neighborhood someone put one of these in the MIDDLE of the main street right where people drive into the neighborhood. A lot of people complained on facebook and would move it to the side of the street but he just yelled at people in the community facebook group and kept moving it back. I remember one of my favorite quotes of his was something about how people who don't live on that side don't see "the assholes that FFFFFLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYY" down the road, he said it just like that haha. We had speedbumps, and it really wasn't that bad. One day it was just gone in the middle of the night and this guy practically cried in that facebook group for weeks straight for someone to return it. After a couple of days though my sister showed me a snapchat from her friend in the neighborhood of hims stealing it haha, glad he did.
I have this sign next to my doorbell. When anyone rings my bell intent on violating those rules, I silently point to it and glare at the offender(s). Haven't had a Mormon, JW, or DTD sales in 3 years, it's wonderful.
I used to have those problems (1x-3x a week) until I purchased a decent sized No Soliciting sign and mounted it next to my front door.
Here is the one I got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B39S9MM/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_.KITCb8XCS9TY
There are several versions on Amazon, hopefully your HOA will allow it or find one that meets your HOA requirements.
Depending on your HOA you could also file a complaint and see if the HOA would take steps in adding no soliciting signs for the entire neighborhood, make exceptions for No Soliciting signs or possibly contacting police for Trespassing, however your mileage will vary greatly here depending on HOA/Local Police.
We got a Nest doorbell, but my best investment was this sign:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B39S9MM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_7zErCbY210Z8S
Looks nice enough and definitely gets the point across..we’ve had a large decrease in people coming to our door (and can see all the people who attempt it but then see the sign). Seriously one of the best purchases we ever made.
Keep in contact with your city councilor. If they were able to get police to help in the front lanes, they can get police to help in the back lanes. They can also help you look for more permanent solutions, like making the alley one way only.
Also, every time you see a violation make a report: https://www.winnipeg.ca/police/report/default.stm#traffic
If they get enough reports about speeding happening in back lanes, they should enforce.
Keep in mind that the drivers might actually be doing the limit. Most of the time, I drive about 15km on my back lane and the neighbours do the same. Someone doing 30km in a narrow alley might seem like they are 'flying' but it is all about perspective.
If you really want to be that person, you could splash out on one of these https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B001R5CJII/ Or some dastardly wayward person could leave an old sofa carelessly in the lane making it very narrow, but that might get someone in trouble with bylaw enforcement.
The problem with a lot of the nutters is that they simply don't see why someone would have an issue with their furbaby taking a tinkle on someone else's lawn even if you do have a sign up asking people to keep their dogs off your lawn.
I don't get why they don't let them piss/shit in their own lawn or just take them to one of the many dog parks that seem to be everywhere but that's another topic.
One of my friends down South in nutter city had a major issue with finding shit in her yard and patches of dead grass from where people had let their dogs pee all over her yard. She replaced her "Please keep your dog off the grass" with these :
https://www.amazon.com/SmartSign-Aluminum-Treated-Pesticides-Graphic/dp/B00HKAE8NI
She doesn't use pesticides but the dog walkers don't know that and she has had a lot less trouble with people letting their dogs go near her lawn. Just get one or two of those, place them prominently and if you see a nutter coming onto your yard with their dog warn them that it's covered in poisonous pesticides. That'll chase them off.
I have this sign on my door - it does wonders. No soliciting fundraising politics salesmen religion. I suppose it should say salespeople, but that's included under soliciting.
I realize its a bit more expensive, but its likely to work way better. Anyone that saw this would probably walk their dog on the other side of the street. Even if you dont spray herbicides/pesticides, they dont know. Stick it in a back area of the yard, they may not see it immediately the first time but when they do they will act on it.

Related: this is the best $10 you can ever spend to put an end to the door to door solicitations:
I used to get the same. Door to door slammers, people selling cable, anything you can think of...and it drove me wild. I haven’t had anyone bother me at the door in the past 3 years now.
You can get one of these signs at Amazon cheap, put it on the gate or next to the front door.
https://www.amazon.com/Soliciting-Sign-Legend-Rust-Aluminum/dp/B017AJ0JKO/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1470287973&sr=8-10&keywords=no+solicitors
If you do open the door, don't let them talk. Immediately say "Did you see the sign?" and point at it. If they say "no", don't let them talk, point to the sign and say "That sign!". The fact they try to deny it is the first indication of the deceit behind the mask. Then say, "No solicitors, get off my property now". If they try to talk, interrupt, and say "If you don't leave right now, I am calling the police". This works, been through that scenario a few times. Eventually, you drop off their hit list somehow. The sign looks unfriendly but it is well worth it.
That's inconsiderate and unsafe.
We use these when we have little ones playing near the road, and just put them up against the curb. We also put them out when we see people forgetting the limit is 30 on our street.

High vis, the flag waves in the wind and it clearly indicates what it's for.
My parents have a sandwich board style with the same type of thing on it.
Is that voting guy an official mascot? If so, that's creepy as fuck. They're the bastard child of Mo Mo and a "slow down" safety sign figure.
It doesn't need to be as blatant as they said. Something like this will scare most people away that actually care about their dogs. https://www.amazon.com/SmartSign-Aluminum-Treated-Pesticides-Graphic/dp/B00HKAE8NI/ref=pd_aw_ci_mcx_mh_mcx_views_0?pd_rd_w=lTFQL&content-id=amzn1.sym.a18eff40-196b-475a-bf9e-be8421cefaf0&pf_rd_p=a18eff40-196b-475a-bf9e-be8421cefaf0&pf_...
Best $10 I ever spent.

Also, get a Ring or other camera. Great to watch them read the sign and walk away. If not, don't let them speak until they give you the $50.
An electric carving knife will work but a wire cutter works best.
Buy a long nosed marker for getting a more accurate outline.
Mark the foam on the backside and reverse of how you want your layout, that way you don't have an ugly black marker outline when you are done.
Company Policies Sign, Employees Break Room Decor, 10x14 Rust Free Aluminum,Weather/Fade Resistant, Easy Mounting, Indoor/Outdoor Use, Made in USA by Sigo Signs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082YDV25V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_GJM114S39ME37SFRZVZ7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It’s fake.
I have this sign:
I also have a doorbell camera that alerts me if it detects people (even if they don't ring). The sign works 100% of the time against Missionaries (literally had zero since installation, and have even seen them turn tail on my porch). It works 40%~ of the time against D2D sales people, even though city bylaws legally enforce No Solicitations.
The biggest benefit is that I can more quickly and sharply reflect sales people "Per the sign I don't buy things from my doorway. Good day. [Close door]." But for the $10 cost of a sign reducing the number of callers even by 25% of well worth it, and it has exceeded that. I'd love to see the city start fining people ignoring them.
It definitely sucks if someone's letting their dog crap in your lawn and not cleaning it up, that's not cool at all.
You can get signs that indicate your yard has been treated with pesticides and to keep pets off as a passive method. Or just tell the dog owner, hey please keep your dog out of my yard.
This one has worked pretty well for me. https://www.amazon.com/Soliciting-Business-Aluminum-Outdoor-Knockers/dp/B01B39S9MM
The religious nuts don't think they're soliciting because they don't want your money (right away).
We bought this for our door. we no longer have issues with door to door sales folk and the like. [sticker from amazon!(https://www.amazon.com/Soliciting-Sticker-minute-Knockers-window/dp/B077ZQB22Y/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=50+no+soliciting+sign&qid=1615693238&sr=8-1)
Kirby?! Oh sweet Buddha you do NOT want the Kirby vacuum door to door people in your home. They are extremely pushy, try to guilt trip you, and are also like $2800! One somehow managed to bamboozle his way into my parents’ home in the 90s and wanted to “demonstrate” the Kirby. He had to break out the vacuum including all of its accessories ... throw various things on our floor just to clean it up. My mother was baffled and getting agitated he was throwing things down to vacuum. He wanted to compare it with the one we already owned. My impatient megalomaniac father decided to ask questions / make comments that made the sales guy seem like a moron. He said if we watched the whole presentation we’d get a free gift (a small brush he said that was meant to clean the accessories but my toothbrush was bigger and more effective than that). At one point Kirby guy wanted to demonstrate IN THE BEDROOMS ON OUR MATTRESS. Teenage me said that was infringing on our privacy and snapped. I informed him unless he planned to clean up the cat litter or vacuum up my dog’s shit he is wasting not only our time but his.
I have a no soliciting on my door it looks like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017AJ0JKO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_i_bba5FbHAVMEBY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Even the LDS and Jehovah witnesses pay heed and no longer bother.
Those flag wielding "slow" turtles that parents put out on the road.
https://www.amazon.com/Step2-Alert-Visual-Warning-Signal/dp/B001R5CJII
This has done the trick for me. At this point, my fade is complete, and I've realized I don't even care if they come to my house... but I've literally seen them walk up, see the sign (above the doorbell) and turn and walk away. It's pretty great.
I have No Trespassing signs on both entrances into my yard. I also have this on my front entrance https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017AJ0JKO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Haven't had any issues since adding that No Soliciting sign.
They have those here in all the school crossing walks during school hours. Our neighbor that we tailgate sporting events with has two that we put up in our area when we camp, cause we have the kiddies and pets running around. You can get them on Amazon.
So, my entire yard is fenced. I have a gate and walkway in the front, and a gate on the side of my house. I have No Trespassing signs by each gate. The side gate is obviously my driveway and side entrance. Too many people come in the front if my dog isn't out. It annoys the hell out me, especially since most of them are churches. I ordered this but I'm willing to go with something more rude if necessary.
There's a few other tools that really help if you have a lot of cutting to do. The first is their long-nosed marker that is unparalleled when it comes to tracing the nooks and crannies of each tool. They also make a knife for cutting the foam but I found it works about as well as any other utility knife. The marker is definitely a must-have though IMO.
