That looks fantastic, and really shows off that stone too. If you start moving to larger pieces, you might want to look at getting a wire straightener of some kind. I use nylon jaw pliers, but sometimes I use these as well Beadalon Artistic Nylon Wire Straightener Tool with 3 Rollers: Amazon.com.au: Office & School Supplies Longer lengths of wire naturally get a bit bendy.
Of course! This is the wire I used. It’s bendy but not flimsy. Thank you! I was a bit nervous when I got it, but it’s worked out beautifully.
Here you go, first and only coil I've ever built. Will be building more when my black KFL+v2 arrives in the mail tomorrow. I was excited and intimidated at first, but building the coil couldn't be any simpler (I used this wire coiling gizmo on amazon). 28g kanthal, 10 wraps, 1.3ohm, CVS organic cotton.
I used floral wire, and left the paper on. According to Amazon this is what I ordered. I thought it was cheaper, but that's probably because it was two years ago.
For length, I wrapped the wire around a 6" pot until the wire mass was about as wide as my thumb, then slid it off and cut it at an arbitrary point to make the individual wire lengths - I couldn't tell you how many individual wires were in there.
I took the technique from this channel. The tree in the video is pretty huge for a gaming table but its not hard to scale it down from there. That channel has lots of beautiful tree crafting vids.
I bought a 25 pack of spool tamers (sanity savers) on Amazon, and they work great. If you're in a rush, you might find them locally at a Michael's.
I order mine from Amazon:
Beadalon Round Wire 316L Stainless Steel 22 Gauge, 10-Meter
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001R8LLW0/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_Mcj6vb83PS6M8
If you use it in your mod, you'll have to leave it in normal "power" mode until/unless you can update your mod to work with SS in TC mode.
Tools, I use a V1 Coil Master jig, usually at 2mm, or a Kuro jig, also a set of generic Fasttech ceramic tip tweezers, and a pair of Hakko CHP-170 flush cutters for the wire, and a set of stamped Chinese thrum scissors for the wick (3 for a buck at amazon usually).
Wick is either Puff organic cotton, or rayon from that giant size crate I bought at Sally Beauty, lifetime supply for $20, it's a seriously huge box of fiber.
I use 24 and 26 gauge Kanthal for my builds, no Claptons or other fancy coils, once in a blue moon I'll twist some 28 gauge for certain juices. I run a mech or an old OKR, no temp control, so no stainless or nichrome wire ever. I do use spool tamers to keep my wire from going all over.
No stand or build platform, usually just build right on my mod. I do use an ohm reader sometimes, but, I've been using the same build on the same atty for a year now, so I haven't been metering my coils because nothing has changed, I can count the wraps just fine.
I've done that as well -- total pain in the ass to try to respool it. You can probably salvage some by cutting the mess into usable lengths.
Get some Beadalon Spool Tamers. They are cheap (25 for $12 on Amazon) and will prevent that from happening again. All my spools wear them and have never had an unspooling problem since.

These look great! Those last ones are especially awesome.
Pro-tip, you can replace the rubber band with green floral wire.
Thanks for the tips! BTW, I use one of these guys for straightening out my (small guage) wires. It's made for jewelry and fishing wire, but works great on solid and stranded electrical wire as well.
Thanks bro I used the hasbro pulse stands and I used white floral wire for the webs. I added an Amazon link of the ones I got but maybe u can find a better deal

HEY!
There's actually a tool called a Wire Straightener. I use it and the first time I used it I was surprised how well it worked.

I don't know about op, but I picked up some plain 22g 316l beadlon wire from amazon for about 10 bucks at 32ft. Beadalon Round Wire 316L Stainless Steel 22 Gauge, 10-Meter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001R8LLW0/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_6gdsub0YQ1X67
Its is the link for the ones I used and looks like the best deal

Apparently the make a version for fishing line and the the 3 pack is priced similarly.
I just did this conversion myself, using Beastmen parts on my Khorne Berserkers. If you have a jeweler's saw or a small hacksaw you can cut them directly in half, just keep in mind that the groove made by the saw will remove mass from the model so place it either above or below the line you want to cut at. The above method worked the best, though. Since the waist has a belt/buckle and is uneven on some of them I just used my x-acto knife to cut down into the waist where I wanted to separate it and then snapped it in half - it broke along the premade cut.
i use these

basically the way it works already is the spool pretty much sits right up to the tool. There is never any messes or issues. i have a working prototype i made last night. Ill upload a video of how it works in a little bit. I haven't seen any other clapton tools with this kind of idea yet.
Not as cheap as fasttech, but I've been using this for a couple weeks and it's clean. Plus, if you have Prime it takes a couple days, not months. 26g is just right for me.
I got mine from amazon.
Edit: Sorry was talking about 316l but heres a link if you would wanna try it http://www.amazon.com/Beadalon-Round-Stainless-Steel-20-Meter/dp/B001R8I5T2/ref=pd_sim_201_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41gAI-cO89L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1H6P37H20XCBTH1TH4XM
I was given some Gplat 24g too. From what i understand from all the posts ive read here and elsewhere is that Gplat is a form of 317L (SS welding wire). 316L is a surgical SS which is also used in jewelry making. I really liked the Gplat but there was no way i was going to pay those kinds of prices so after some research i settled on 316L.
Its a pretty fantastic wire, the ramped up time is pretty low and as it has less resistance per foot you require more, more surface area = more clouds and flavor. I order it from Amazon.
The down side is that its not magnetic, got to be careful where the pieces fly when you clip it.
Good deal, get these. I have nicknamed them "sanity savers". Amazon also has a pack of 25 right now at $14.45, not bad if you have Prime.
You could try SS 316L/317L, what some testing indicates is Gplat and other high end wire It provides a cooler vape, i use 26g 316L @.3 ohms and it is nice and cool. You can get 65 feet on Amazon for under ten dollars delivered.
Also the lower the gauge the cooler the vape with Kanthal so your coils using 26g would be significantly cooler. But 316L/317L would be cooler still.
EDIT: You can use Steam Engine to check temps of coils.
I bought this to make coils, and the biggest crank rod just happens to be the exact same size as the original spring that came with the clone I bought. I made about two extra, just because I had the extra coaxial lying around. The core of the wire is steel (copper plated), so the spring retains it's shape pretty good.
Get all my wick and wire from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/meshcompany/ - good price. Just wanna check, but if you're colour blind, get a VP2 or VP4 - otherwise red/green lights and all that jazz. Other things possible...
Flush wire cutters, ceramic tweezers, precision screwdrivers, some sharp scissors purely for cutting cotton, and at least one waterproof battery case so you can throw in in your bag and forget about it.
Oh, and a sieve.
P.S. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beadalon-De-Luxe-Coiling-Gizmo/dp/B0068RQ85K/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1420586504&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=coiling+gizmo - throw a wingnut and bolt in the loop to trap the wire, and you'll build far tighter coils than any jig out there.
I purchased one of these the other day, specifically to try out these prettier coils. I'll let you know if it works with this type of setup.

This is all I know of, probably the one you've already seen at the craft store. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0068RQ85K/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Other than that there's some fisherman sets like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TBPT5Q that could be useful i guess.
