Happy Birthday Margot!
As a mom, I would suggest clothing or shoes and if you get a toy don't pick a really noisy annoying one such as a harmonica or a yippy yappy robot puppy lol.
If they go hiking a lot and spend time outdoors, perhaps get her a nice baby sunhat with a drawstring~ water friendly is even better if she'll be playing a sprinkler or a kiddie pool. Or maybe some nice little river sandals, the kind that protect your toes while allowing to be really grippy for hiking or playing in water.
If you're set on a toy, I would suggest something like this mixing bowl toy or this shopping cart toy . My kid has played with a pretend shopping cart since she was 1 and she's now 4 1/2 and still has a blast with it.
my 2.5th got these drums for christmas and he had known his alphabet and 1-20 for about a month but this really helped him get confident with it.
he now knows 1-26, can count backward from 10, is working on counting by 10s to 100, and he knows the entire alphabet really well.
it also teaches the sounds each letter makes and now he walks around saying “B- buh, buh, buh” or “Apple- A!” which is amazing to me because he was speech delayed and hardly spoke 6mo ago.
like i said, he was already familiar with the concepts the drums teach but i think they really helped!

Merry Christmas! I am pumping and drinking my coffee before we start our Christmas morning in the Reina household. We helped Ben open a few gifts last night and I am so pleased that the drum I got him was a HUGE hit. I’m pretty sure he’s going to bang on this thing all day, we probably will hide it until he’s done opening the rest of his gifts (mostly clothes and books, so not as fun!).

I have a 15 month old and these are the suggestions we’ve been giving when asked. All of these can be found for $35 or less. Books, mega blocks, active toys (starter basketball hoop, slide, sled, etc). For our sons first birthday friends of ours got him a little musical instrument set kind of like this one. our son loves it.
Great options are shaker eggs. My son loves them and there are lots of shaker egg songs to sing along to on YouTube. We also got him a little package of instruments for our Music Together class and they are surprisingly robust. He loves the bells and tambourine but I just watch him with it so he doesn’t put a stick through a drum. The package we got was similar to this: instruments

I do, but I dont recommend them as they are overpriced and really overrated https://www.amazon.com/Nanoleaf-Rhythm-Smarter-Kit-Pack/dp/B079HD9JWH
You should quit the kratom my friend. I know it's nice and helpful now but you'll get to a point where you have to take a half ounce or more a day to even feel any effect. And when you try stopping then, or your supply is cut off, you'll go through hell. Itll get expensive too, even if it isnt now. And no matter what people say, detoxing from any opiate is really tough.
I too setup RGB lights around my home gym and bedroom. Didnt know they were so cheap and cool, you can do some really nice stuff with them. If you're into cool ambient lighting stuff I'd check out Nanoleafs. I just bought one and they're pretty dope. They get the ladies in the mood. Throw on Shawshank Redemption, crack open some White Claws and you're good to go.

I bought them on Amazon. I couldn't find the 15 panel pack on the official Nanoelaf website, but Amazon had the 15 pack. https://www.amazon.com/Nanoleaf-Rhythm-Smarter-Kit-Pack/dp/B079HD9JWH
Usually in the URL you will see something like this, It's almost always a 20 after the name in the "tag" parameter.

For example:
I love annoying instruments and toys for bad parents. My Grandma used to tell about how one of her siblings bought her (Grandma's) child a very annoying toy duck. Grandma's family LOVED the duck SO much, that of course she had to find the same one for her sibling's next child.
Though, I also feel that because so many toy instruments sound so horrible, many kids feel that they are bad at music. Not realizing that their playing sounds bad because the instruments are crap. Since those bad experiences turn them off to music, they miss out on the benefits of playing and enjoying music. Music helps with math and reading, gives children a chance to move as they learn. It can help children overcome fears of public speaking, and be an outlet for emotions they are struggling to deal with appropriately. So, I like the idea of giving good instruments to children as well. It allows the child to see that they can produce good music, and the parents are willing, and encourage them to play, because their eardrums aren't being assaulted.
I've bought my nephew a couple of musical instruments. I like him and his parents, and they are doing a wonderful job of raising him, so the expense doesn't bother me. My family isn't very musical, but I would like to try change that for the next generation.
I've bought him a drum often used in elementary school music classes, http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002F7KUG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00. And a ukulele, I researched carefully to find an inexpensive, durable one, with good sound. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GHQUGG4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_ The drum has a nice mellow sound and the size of the ukulele makes it an approachable string instrument for a preschooler.
He was pretty fascinated by this rainmaker toy at about 6 weeks.
