It probably is, but you should definitely consider the Harbor Freight motors instead, if you're in the USA. The predator 212 is THE standard go kart and mini bike motor if you're on a budget, and Harbor Freight quite often has a bitchin 20% or 25% off coupon you can use to get the price of a Predator down around a hundred bucks. Parts are plentiful and cheap as well.

I can put a couple chunks of wood on it or pile on some lump charcoal. I get fantastic results on long cooks.
That's great, and a lucky fix! I have had no success with Seafoam cleaning out dirty carbs, unfortunately. But other folks have had it work for them, so apparently sometimes it can do the trick.
To help avoid dirty carburetor problems, especially if using gas with ethanol (which is all that's available around here), I add stabilizer to the gas, every time I fill my gas can. Even if should be used, like mid-summer. To me, using it every time is easy, and cheap insurance.
And I add a $5 inline fuel shutoff valve to my machines with accessible fuel lines. Before their off-season, I close the fuel shutoff with the engine running, and let it run until it dies. This gets most of the gas out of the carburetor bowl, so there is less fuel in there to degrade. This is especially helpful on things that are important, and will sit around for a while. Like a generator, or snowblower.

There are a few versions of this. The Toro one fits most push mowers. I have one and it works well.

If you go for the ego, I would highly recommend getting this mulcher blade: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N39KRRM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There isn't much pull so this helps create some suction for my fine fescue.
The cable is long, and you can wrap it. I have thought about 3d printing some sort of "spool" that I could wall mount and keeping things tidy, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I added plenty of "extra cable" all over the place. There are some good youtube videos on how to do it. The more the better provided you aren't nearing the 350m boundary wire lenth limit.
I would also 100% order more of the connectors in case you screw up. I have at least 5-6 of these on my 0.5acre install and my landroid only came with two. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F9KH8PT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

These Emberg ones are about the only ones I've found that last well. Most of the cheaper China specials are completely useless. Definitely avoid anything in stainless - it's just too soft.

The titanium (lol yeah right) Emberg copies of the endurance blades have been working well - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08G8NK2DC?ref_=pe_19115062_429603572_302_E_DDE_dt_1
Our grass is growing so quickly at the moment that I'm changing blades weekly, but after a week these have been fine. Just blunt. They'd probably last longer to be honest but they're so cheap and the cut so nice when the blades are sharp I'm happy to keep wasting a few bucks at the moment. During winter I'll let them go longer between changes.

These are cheap and easy, and there is a bunch of information online on how to make easy modifications to it, for when you feel you need to step the power up a little.
Lol no. The mulching kit ego sells is a 2 blade set. Not sure how it's supposed to mount since its designed for the newer model mower. It has something like a 15 degree offset when you line them up

At least stabilize the fuel that's in there. Stir it around if possible. I would then run the engine for at least 15 minutes to draw the stabilized gas into the carb.
I've installed a fuel shutoff valve (like https://www.amazon.com/Briggs-Stratton-698183-Shut-Off-Selected/dp/B0038U3JKM/ ) on the line from the tank. I don't run the tanks dry. I just close that shutoff while the engine is running, and wait the minute or so until the engine stalls, to get the gas out of the carburetor.

Yeah I use it every time I cut with that mower (I also have a bigger walk behind). I’d say it’s worth $75, it’s worth even $100 after getting used to having it. But $150, $200… I just got a Toro Super Recycler on eBay for $200, lol.
Just looking on Amazon now, it’s a different listing but this is the same one I bought (it says Last Purchased 2013) for $99: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004ZKXYUO/
It says it ships in 1-2 months though, that’s odd. I guess if you’re not in a rush… 🤷

They have striping kits you can attach to your mower that lays the grass down. Mowers typically do it to a small extent but a striping kit like this one is what I use
I bought this one last year:
Noticed a slight improvement over the stock blades but not by much.
Yes it could cause it to flood, a simple fix is to put a fuel shutoff valve in the gas line like this, you would have to shut off the fuel valve when done with the mower and turn it back on when you want to use it again and it won’t be able to flood that way

Get a blade balancer to make sure you're taking off appropriate amounts on both ends.
I had one quite a few years ago, where I started lobbing off bits on the back of the blade on one side to get it balanced. I don't know if it was a bad forge or extra gunk stuck to it at manufacturing, but I had to sit and grind bit after bit to level it out.
So I just have one of these Toro striping kits. It attaches to my self propelled push mower and does a decent job. I found that with just sand it's not quite enough weight on the roller so I added a 15lb weight to the top of the striping kit. As for supplies I shop around a few different places. For fertilizer I've gone to Hilltop Gardens off Federal in Westminster. I had a pretty bad issue with the bumps as well so I had Dreamscapes Landscape Center deliver a giant dump truck of amended top soil, 50/50 mixture of top soil and compost, took forever to spread over the lawn, but helped immensely. I'd like to have them deliver a truck of sand next to apply some final touches to the leveling. As for seed I went to Amazon and had them ship me this seed Jonathan Green 10323 Black Beauty Ultra Mixture, because anything available at HD/Lowes/Local didn't have the blend I really wanted. Let me know if you have any other questions neighbor!
learned it from the lawn care nut. He has great videos on the subject
you can rig something up for your mower but I just went and bought a kit
