Copying a comment of mine from another post about this:
I tore mine in March (actually probably did it in November, but in March it got so bad I couldn't put weight on my leg)
After surgery, and then 2 months of additional rehab and recovery (I had the surgery where they actually repair the meniscus because the tear was on the outside) I just returned to the mats last week.
This is the brace I bought, I've been to a lot of classes so far and it's been great.

It was recommended on here by another poster. So I showed it to my doctor and he said it was a good brace. I'll probably wear it for a few months until my leg is stronger. I'm still not suppose to squat past 90 degrees, so I'm still figuring out what I can and can't do on the mats.
A few girls wear these on their dominate knee , under scrub
Overnight, you could try wearing a splint/brace designed for plantar fasciitis to keep your ankle at 90 degrees and therefore the calf stretched out. But it would be best to check with your doctor before you try this. https://www.amazon.com/BraceAbility-Fasciitis-Stretcher-Nighttime-Dorsiflexion/dp/B00BWQ4C6E
I used these for a while
I'm sure theres better options, but these have elastic inside at the top and bottom to hold on to your legs.

The heftiest knee brace I own for when I tore my LCL is this one. It has the best straps that stay out. It doesn’t have hard parts that are going to scrape your partner. Highly recommend it.

Compression sleeve might be what you're referring to. There's a ton of different options on Amazon for relatively cheap. I use these, and they seem to help: Sparthos Thigh Compression Sleeves
oh i see - get a ROM brace asap. its good to have around ive got two big ones two smaller styles. that will immobilize that knee joint and let it relax and take the weight off. insurance is cheap so it generally takes surgery or verified tears to get it. you can amazon them for $120 compared to the $800 insurance charge Orthomen Hinged ROM Knee Brace, Post Op Knee Brace for Recovery Stabilization, ACL, MCL and PCL Injury, Adjustable Medical Orthopedic Support Stabilizer After Surgery, Women and Men https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B4JJYDN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_Q2DMX76819061M5E0WWS

I wear this style. The issued ones are too heavy and always fall down on me, although they are very rugged.
The neoprene sleeve ones can be worn under the trousers so nobody will know. Less likely to snag on shit and a little more high speed imho.
A lot depends on the kind of knee problems you have: arthritis, meniscus damage, or ligament damage among others. They call for different degrees of stabilization and support, and that in turn will help determine what kind of brace you need. You may also need to adjust your workout routine to reduce the impact on your knees.
I use a brace with an intermediate level of support (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08MVQ8LZ6) and it's made a big difference in the amount of swelling and pain I get when fencing.
Finally, I think it's very valuable to see a physical therapist or other specialist who can identify the causes of your knee problems and prescribe stretches and exercises to mitigate them. Sometimes pain in the knees can be caused by tightness or weakness elsewhere.
It's literally called the "Foot Up" brace. It comes in two parts, one for around the ankle, one for around the area just below the toes. Carefully measure your ankle, then around the area below the toes, and order the correct size for each part. But be careful, because even though the pictures show both pieces together, they are separate.
This is just one listing for it:

Does it hurt or is it just sore?
compression shelves help me quite a bit, but my muscle soreness is inside the calf (shin splints I think).
I'm not going to tell you to run or not. Listen to your body. If you are worried, make sure you run in a loop or have a way to bail out if it hurts after your warm up.
