I'm dyslexic.
Dyslexic fonts help some people, but I am not one of them. The ones that do improve reading speed and clarity do it too much. I'm used to having my eyes loop over words frequently as I read, and because I do not have to do that as much to recognize words I start passing over text too quickly to absorb the information. (Another issue is some dyslexia fonts like to use thinner lines on the top of the letter & get thicker as you go down, which makes the text flash for me and get harder to read.) Definitely see if your daughter benifits from dyslexia fonts, but don't pay for dyslexie. Go with Open Dyslexic which is free so you haven't wasted $70 if it doesn't help her.
.
The thing that worked best for me was having a normal font printed at a normal thickness, in liquid ink (NOT TONER,) on a matte pastel paper. Green and blue were the best for me. Bright white printer paper with super black toner can be physically painful for me to read.
Tracking (keeping something under the text you're reading) is helpful too, but if you really want to maximize the benefit you get from tracking, go with something discrete. Something close to the color of the paper the text is printed on. I used to use white budgie feathers (I kept budgies as a kid) because they matched the paper pretty closely, didn't block much of the surrounding text, and weren't distracting like a clicky pen might be.
Oh, and regular highlighters are the opposite of helpful. At best, highlighting/annotating is a distraction when I'm trying to read. At worst, the super bright neon over black text makes it harder to read the information marked as important. If highlighters are mandatory for your daughter, go with Mildliners in colors that work for your daughter. I like this set because dull colors are best for me. Gray is especially good.
+1 for Staedtler and Le Pen!
I also like the Japanese Frixion pens because they're erasable! They're not fine point, which stinks, but they're felt tip! I hate gel pens :/ The ink will also disappear if it gets too hot! So if you live in a very warm climate, they may not be for you. Haha.
Also, if you are feeling lucky and you search through the dirt cheap pen sets on Amazon, some of them turn out to be REALLY awesome. I've found a few of my favorite pen sets that! Definitely had my share of duds though...
u/moretacozplz Hello you fantastic human! Nice to meet you!
IDK if you know about these midliner pens but they are the best things that have ever been invented.
What do you call a pile of kittens? >!a meowntain!!!!<

Speaking of Zebra, I've heard good things about their midliners (lighter colored highlighter).
I'd suggest using tone colors to read things. It helps you associate the tone with the character, and then it's easier to remember because it'll be more visual than auditory. Write things in the tones' colors, convert text to colored text, etc.
I use pastel highlighters to color the characters on paper, and this to color online text.
Pleco and other dictionaries with the tone colored, so that's helpful. With the dictionary having colors, remembering the tones is a more passive process with new words you look up. You can customize which tone is which color, but I prefer red1 green2 blue3 purple4
It's really helped in my experience. I didn't completely ignore tones at first but I didn't pay that much attention to them, so many words I had to correct/solidify the correct tone.
I use sharpie pens and these highlighters: PILOT FriXion Light Pastel Collection Erasable Highlighters, Chisel Tip, Assorted Color Inks, 5-Pack (46543) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018KGPKE6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_V27KAEF2RS1E6XTRW0T9
I second highlighting in different colors. I believe I used:
I was also huge on tabbing my books with post it flags. I would try to color code that as well. Like blue flags we major important points/definitions, pink were rule statements/statements of law, etc.
Then I’d write notes in margins and take notes on my laptop in class. This form of book briefing worked the best for me. But I didn’t start this probably until my 2L fall and really got my system down until 2L spring
These are the only highlighters I would use. I love the color intensity and how they came in an individual sleeve that made making sure I had all of them easy. Also I used yellow for my reasoning, my most used color, and you can buy just packs of yellow of this same highlighter. So it was easy to replace.
Best of luck!
I've used erasable highlighters before. It disappears then you iron it. It worked fine on white cotton, you might want to test it on a bit first though, whatever you use. And obviously wouldn't be useful if you're ironing a piece throughout the process, you'd have to keep remarking.
These are the ones I've used pilot erasable highlighters

Learning to color with markers is another challenge all around. Zebra Pen Mildliner, Double Ended Highlighter blend really well.
These mildliners are super popular, they are double ended. I bought an entire box of the grey ones. But how can you resist a rainbow color package
Zebra Pen Mildliner, Double Ended Highlighter, Broad and Fine Tips, Assorted Colors, 15 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0752WWCTN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_GP8T88V7DTXAXFY42NG7
I was thinking about a similar one to the one you linked, but to be fair I cant recall a specific one, I just googled "liquid paper highlighter" (if you dont put "paper" on your search you'll be bombarded with make up items haha) and found this one by Sharpie. I'm not afraid of a mess so even if I can't open it cleanly, I'll have neon inky fingers, which I'm not really a stranger to... I'll test it out! Maybe do some research beforehand and find a washable ink. I'm excited! Thanks for the idea :)
a mi me regalaron esto una vez y estaba muy feliz jajaja
I have highlighters from back when I used to bullet journal that are perfect for times like these. Highly recommend them, they can really get to highlighting small spots well.
Hi! Those highlighters are Zebra Mildliners. I got the full pack (25 highlighters + 5 brush pens) at Costco for $30, but you can also buy specific color packs on Amazon. My favorite colors are from the packs "Noble" and "Refined" which are the colors you see in my spreads. Here's the amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/Zebra-Highlighter-Mildliner-Color-WKT7-5C-NC/dp/B0027MA9FA
Good luck and I hope you have a great school year!

I use gel highlighters. Smooth as butter and zero bleed through, even on super thin paper. These are the ones I use: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0793DYRKV
They're also known as gel crayons and after getting those, my wife made me get these for her to color with: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07QW63WN4
Same things, but with non-neon colors.

My current obsession (?) is the band BTS. got into their music earlier this year, and i got to experience a lot of firsts as I’m new to stanning a group, much more a k-pop boy group. they’re the only ones making me happy the whole year,, and well, keeping me going.
here’s an item from my wishlist
If your packing tape is https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Lasting-Storage-Packaging-3650-4/dp/B00007L6C1then it is around 60um (Amazon says 2.5mil). Put the packing tape on glass (cleaned with isopropyl first) if it is peeling up off your current bed.
It looks like a Zebra mildliner. Granted, it looks like they only have two shades. I got a pack of 15 on Amazon, and they only had one grey, but I like all the other colors too.
When was the last time she was in school? If it has been a bit, having some of the tools for school would be nice. I’m a visual learner. Having a sketchbook that can handle pen, markers, and pencils has been nice for drawing and writing our what I need to know. I also love these highlighters: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0752WWCTN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_VKi5DbMMABEW4
Those cards may come in handy down the line, but honestly the tools for getting through the Pathophysiology and Pharmacology will be a great gift! Giving her some blank notecards she can make herself or a Planner (although she may want to pick that out herself).
I love how thoughtful you are making her gift! My siblings are 8 years older and the other is 10 years younger. I know how difficult that age gap can make shopping. You are such a great sibling!
I brought all five packs of Amazon for around £20! I think these are the ones I brought but when I got them they were around £20 : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zebra-Mildliner-highlighter-Pastel-Color/dp/B07K7XZXTY/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=zebra+mildliners&qid=1577701750&sprefix=zebra+&sr=8-4
Oh! I also use these Zebra midliners to add some color.
These are the Zebra Mildliners. I picked up the 15 pack here
Zebra Pen Mildliner, Double Ended Highlighter, Broad and Fine Tips, Assorted colors, 15-Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0752WWCTN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_o-heCbRFNMFDB
But full disclosure : there are a couple I really don’t like, neon yellow and neon orange are a waste on this set imo. The small point tips are bigger than I expected but I really like them. The opposite end is a chisel tip. The green in this set is killer. It’s so hard to find leafy vibrant green in highlighters. There is also peach, Smokey blue, some different pink shades and several purple shades. There is a cool brown and grey for neutrals. One thing you might also do is visit a local craft store. You can find single pens and highlighters to custom build a color set for just slightly more dollars than buying a pack. I can’t get this brand locally but they do carry tombow markers in all the colors near me and boy are they pretty!!
it's the grey zebra midliner from this set
I have some in my cart along with other supplies so I will see how well they do. I normally stay away from the brown looking tape.
I think the Scotch Heavy Duty tape has a problem sticking to raw cardboard, if its white its fine. But anything that is brown it has issue with. But since I ship mostly with Priority boxes and Envelopes I love it.
I normally get these http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Lasting-Storage-Packaging-3650-4/dp/B00007L6C1/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1441488717&sr=8-10&keywords=scotch+heavy+duty+packaging+tape
but Sams has a insane sale for heavy duties one last year that I'm still using.
Yeah I shake my head at the things I did early in my days. I did pretty good with shipping and having bubble mailers saved to cut costs. The tape roller has been a godsend, I cant believe I didnt do that sooner. I dont even know how much money I have saved on tape by going to that tape roller but it is very much worth it.
Sorry i gave you the wrong link. I bought this 4 pack of tape
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007L6C1/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
4 rolls for 9.89. That seems the be the most amazing value. You will not regret especially if you are increasing in volume. You need the most tape for your buck
Along the lines of: http://www.amazon.co.uk/STABILO-Original-070-Highlighter-Refill/dp/B000WL4YKE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_4NPmcbuIM
Probably easier/cheaper these days to just buy new ones rather than refilling them
