The substrate is actually pool filter sand. It is 1/4 the cost of aquarium sand and very clean. It’s is hard to tell from the pick but it is about 4 inches deep. The carpeting plant I got off Amazon at
It had mixed reviews, but i think it’s because the planting instructions are all messed up. If you get it let me know and I will tell you the way I figured it out. The stuff has done really well. I also fertilize with flourish tabs.

The tall plants were just from an unlabeled pack of bulbs from my local fish store. I think they were labeled “betta bulbs” or something to that effect. Sorry! I hope someone on here knows what they are.
Here is a link to a heat source you can use while traveling https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00DJYELCW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_84HA7VM7WXT0EM8SK2JP?psc=1&ref_=d6k_applink_bb_marketplace And I suggest looking up LeopardGecko on youtube. She has tons of videos, one including travel tips!
There’re a couple videos on YouTube (one from Leopard Gecko and one from GoHerping) which discuss transporting reptiles that are helpful. You’ll probably have to get/make a small enclosure for each gecko, and then use one of those reptile heat packs to keep warm. I found this one that works for up to 72 hours: 72-hour Uniheat Heat Pack for Shipping Plants, Live Insects, Reptiles, Tropical Fish https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00DJYELCW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_84HA7VM7WXT0EM8SK2JP?psc=1
Weird i cant find it. This is the closest i got:

I have a couple different things depending on the length of outage. I live in New England so winter outages could be a problem what with the cold and all. I have some heat packs (the kind they use specifically for reptiles https://www.amazon.com/Uniheat-10-Pack-Hour-Heat/dp/B07J3WTQYC, not human hand warmers - those get too hot). And then I also have a hot water bottle with a cloth covering (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HF1F672/). No electricity also means no hot water, but I have a camping stove that I could use to heat water up outside to put in the water bottle if needed.
When I worked at a zoo and we had to transport snakes we would put them in a snake bag and then inside a cooler with the lid cracked and a hot water bottle inside. Since coolers are insulated it helps keep the heat in, just make sure you leave the lid cracked open with something for air flow. Knock on wood I haven't lost power in all the time I've had my BP but if I lost it for more than an hour or so in the fall/winter months I would put him in a bag in the cooler with the hot water bottle and leave the lid cracked open.

Since I don't have outdoor electric access, I'm going to be looking at something like this to use in my two outdoor bins this year. Each of my bins is a little smaller than half of yours. I'm considering building a Styrofoam box or using something like an insulated delivery bag on the outside with some airspace and then use the warmers inside. I'm also going to use a heavy burlap layer on top and try to leave air space all around. I'm in Maryland and we occasionally get below zero maybe once a season with an average temperature of 28 degrees on the coldest day of the year.
If you could move your bin into a sheltered location like a garage then a heating pad or a terrarium warming pad might work.
Monte carlo. I got a 3 packs of seeds off Amazon
Thank you! He knows he’s a very handsome little boy. I got it off Amazon, Zafina 3 Pack Aquarium Plant... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CGGJKZ5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. It’s some seeds that you dry plant and after a month or 2 it turns out like this! It was super duper easy and a ton of fun to watch it grow! The whole process was super simple, I just sprinkled the seeds on top of some moist fruval stratum and put some plastic wrap on the top of the tank to keep the moisture inside, I kept the light on all the time for the first couple days then decreased it to around 12 hours a day the rest of the time. You just have to mist it a couple times a day and it’ll sprout within a few days, after a couple weeks you flood the tank and in no time you get a gorgeous full carpet.
Heat packs, or hand warmers, here’s some of the heat packs some reptile places will use when shipping their critters, maybe just wrap them in towels and check the temps so the Leo baby is comfortable. When I was first experimenting with live plants I tried this bundle on Amazon and all but one grew insanely well in my tank.
Here's the link. it came with 4 packets but... i used half of one packet and even that was waaaaay too overplanted.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZGF6YH2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They sell shipping warmers for exactly this type of reason. You can use hand warmers in a pinch, but please be careful with them. Standard hand warmers can get way too hot to be safe and also don't last as long as shipping warmers. I bought these for exactly this scenario. They're a bit expensive, but they last much longer than hand warmers (up to 72 hours versus about 10 hours with hand warmers) and only average a temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit as opposed to hand warmers which run 110-115. Thankfully, I have not had to use them yet, but I would have some for back up from this point forward.
How many reptiles do you have? In a pinch you may be able to use your own body heat to keep them warm for shorter periods, or use hand warmers if you keep an eye on them constantly and use them outside the enclosure, but I'm not sure I would trust them.
4 Pack Small Leaf Grass- Here It’s only been submerged for a couple weeks and it seems ok. I’m not sure how it’s going to grow out so we shall see. The color and coverage is pretty though.
Looks like it isn't available at the moment: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074TR3VGB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I had to take down the spec V due to a damsel fly infestation and moved the plants that I kept to a 20 gallon. Here is what those plants look like at different stages.
I've noticed that not all of the leaf shapes as they have gotten bigger are the same, so the seeds are probably made up of similar but different plants. Some of the leaves turn a red/brown color which you can sorta see in some of the pictures.
Let me know if you have any other questions about these seeds. Good luck to you!
So I purchased these seeds off amazon, and used 2 satchels and currently trying to germinate them submersed.
After they start, to grow I'll likely post a followup to request help to try and ID the plants as I've seen other posts in different forums saying the plants weren't what they bought.
As far as C02 goes, I purchased a small kit that doesn't seem to want to stay together, when I add any pressure to it, how much tubing is supposed to sit on the diffuser?
I got it on amazon and honestly the description doesn’t say. Yes it’s seeds. It’s this one—> SunGrow Aquarium Temple Plant Seeds, 2 Ounce, Vibrant Green Tropical Hygrophila Plant for Freshwater Fish Tanks, Easy to Grow Carpet Plants for Aquarium, Ideal for Shrimp, Goldfish and Guppies https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074TR3VGB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_enfCDbFQMKABW
I got them in Amazon! They're pretty easy to grow. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074TR3VGB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_bia_widget_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thank you so much! I got them in a variety bundle on Amazon:
I ordered them through amazon, figured I'd try it out once instead of my LFS. Pretty impressed on the quality and quantity. Good price too! Company called Aqualeaf Aquatics. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H6FMWP4/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_NOdaEb7JQPPFH Plants are in their websites description, but not on amazon. Dont recall what they are were off the top of my head.
Thanks! I am not quite sure what the plant is, I bought them here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074TR3VGB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
as a carpeting plant, however the leaves got very big and it wasn't the look I wanted.
you will not believe what it was - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074TR3VGB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I had torn down this tank once because of moving - (completely dried out) a tiny part of the seeds somehow stayed and here we are again! you should see my new post of how big they grew back.
oh i saw this today! you will not believe what it was - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074TR3VGB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yeah, here's where I bought them. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CGGJKZ5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jpQqFbZ7NV1FS there are a lot of reviews mentioning that it's actually Hygrophila polysperma which is illegal to import, sell or purchase in the US. I wish I read the reviews before I bought it, I would have gone with dwarf hair grass instead. I'll try to keep them trimmed as much as possible. But will end up ripping it all out later if it does come to that.
I just got these seeds but haven’t planted them yet and I’m worried about doing so due to all the scam seeds out there. What do you guys think?

I found that letting them sprout in wet soil out of water then filling the tank with heated water after they sprouted has worked best for me.
Thank you! This was my first time using these hygrophilla seeds that i got from Amazon. For the substrate, I used CaribSea
I got them on Amazon.

A pic of the aquarium after I put in the betta.
The betta really ripped it all out though. I've since upgraded my aquarium to the fluval 9 gallon and I'm trying to grow the same carpet.
