The Atlantis Gene is the first of a 3 part series that gets more absurd and out there with every passing chapter. It's basically what would happen if Shyamalan wrote a book and attempted to include a plot twist every 3-4 chapters.
There's a fiction book that has a similar idea.
Basically, a virus/disease spreads to a small percentage of the world, leaving them paralyzed. But, even though it's a small percentage, it's still a pretty large number of people that are affected. So the governments help fund investments into remote robots that can be controlled by those who are paralyzed.
Predator is the first one, more to come

I believe this is from a book called Wild Thing: A Novel by Josh Bazell
Tarkov Site (Buying from their site will get you the in-game content that comes with)

It doesn't mention the vaccine stuff but the book is real.
> also, this former mufon investigator says how reports show that there is a way to terminate abduction.
"Unholy Communion: the Spiritual Nature of Abduction Reports" by "Ancient of Days: Christian Symposium on Aliens"
It's disingenuous to link to sites with a religious agenda without warning people that's what they are.
It doesn't leave a good impression of your beliefs if you have to trick people into hearing about them. Why don't you just tell people what you're recommending?
For those that want help ending alien abduction that's religiously neutral, I recommend:
How to Defend Yourself Against Alien Abduction by Ann Druffel. (Link is to the amazon Kindle version.)
It's cheap and it seems to have solid information.
They used to sell three different ones on their site, but those are now gone. I think all of them were written in Russian, but this is the first one that has been translated to English.
Interested to know this too. The first one is on Amazon but the 2nd and 3rd aren’t.
Modest proposal. Maybe keeping a human in the state of anxiety is one of the end goals for these things? Maybe the reason they expose themselves just enough is to indoctrinate people sufficiently that are precisely maintained in a state of exhaustion and high anxiety? In this state a person is isolated and easily overwhelmed, fear of being abducted leaves the person unable to fight back. All of this to cause the person to more readily give up - surrender to what they think is overwhelming force and control. This enabling these things by providing a form of implied consent that they need to interact with our species. It is possible to stop them. We are more than what we appear in this reality and maybe their interaction with us comes at a price? To be in our heads, we must necessarily be in theirs.
I found that this book had conclusions I already arrived at. I think it is useful: https://www.amazon.com/Defend-Yourself-Against-Alien-Abduction/dp/0609802631.
As for not wanting to engage with our species, I believe that is a suggestive concept that is implanted into some to keep them isolated. It should be resisted. We gain strength, emotional power from each other and this strength is the Javelin missile needed when dealing with these things.
Coping requires two social faces one that handles daily life without drawing undue attention. The other is keenly aware we live in a porous reality, with at least one non human super power that has planetary dominance over us and we live with a species that is just beginning to become aware and is very twitchy.

Crappy title bc it sounds ridiculous but contains a survey of information from abductee claimants. If you or family members are encountering UAP/UFO at any time in their lives, IMHO, that’s a flag. Proximity of the UFO I personally take as an indicator of the degree of interaction. Obvious weird electrical events like you describe, IMHO, is a flag that activity is current. Disturbances in your home another flag. There are other indicators as well. I am a father. As a child I experienced things no one believed, giving me a reputation as an “exaggerator”. I realize now as adult those experiences caused long term CPTSD that I continue to unravel to this day. I’ve explained this to my kid - not fun. For some, these things are real. Not a hypnagogic state, imagination or mental illness. Have your child draw what he/she has experienced. Behave on the off chance it is really happening. Look for expressions of emotional state. What I experienced was terrifying beyond description.
Hey I know this is an old post but I found out you can buy the kindle version of the first book on Amazon. Listed as the same author and everything. Second and third aren't on there though..
Kinda reminds me of the storytelling in Escape from Tarkov. If you play the game then you should read the book based in that universe, Predator: Escape from Tarkov.

It actually is really good and helps explain the lore of the scavs and traders in a realistic way, even quests too!
It'll be interesting to read more on the No-Pats closer to launch.
That’s just UK Amazon though. I guess the US probably has it right. I apologise.
Anyone ever read The Atlantis Gene series? It's fictional but has a lot of these theories in it about Antarctica and the global elite and ancient beings. Fun read. https://www.amazon.ca/Atlantis-Gene-Thriller-Origin-Mystery-ebook/dp/B00C2WDD5I
Anything is possible. But the "barrier" to success is no less in self-publishing than traditional publishing. People don't view SP works any differently.
In fact, it's probably harder to succeed in SP as you don't have all the resources of traditional publishing. Hence why a lot of SP novels tank because they are poorly written and produced. Very few people have the skills (or money to acquire things like editing services) to really have a shot at SP.
Also, like anything, it will take a while (years) to build a reader base, that's assuming you are really good.
But the #3 book overall in the Amazon store is self-published I believe.
With 12,000 reviews it's likely sold over a million copies. Safe to say the author has likely made millions.
In summary: Possible? Yes. Easy? No.
This book is pretty good, as it doesn't make any presuppositions about the nature of UFOs but just looks at what people have done to make the experiences stop.
Since you seem to be more into the Hacker thing - like history of it all - maybe Ready Player One might be exactly your speed. I personally didn't like the book, but so many other people did, I'm likely the aberration.
If you want just running from one thing to the next, you might like Beat the Reaper - it will definitely entertain you!
For hacking/running together, I always, always recommend Snow Crash by Neil Stephenson (but I'm kinda getting sick of my constant pro-Stephenson pushes on here, :P so... yeah, read it if you want to read awesome.)
This is a good trilogy. It is a thriller and some sci-fi throw in.
The problem is a self-eclipsing one. It's normal to think you hold all your beliefs for good, logical reasons. It's even normal to be able to come up with some good, logical-sounding reasons when you ask your brain why you believe what you believe.
But those aren't your actual reasons. Dozens, perhaps hundreds of studies have shown that our brains instantly construct post-hoc rationalizations for their beliefs and present them to our consciousness in confidence that they'll be credulously received. The most striking that comes immediately to mind is one referenced in The User Illusion on page 280 (you should be able to see it in the book preview by searching for "corpus callosum").
For further mind-blowing in this area, read The User Illusion
If you really want your mind blown, read The User Illusion - Cutting Consciousness Down to Size
There's actually a whole lot more to this, some of which is mind-bogglingly counter-intuitive. For a fascinating read, check out The User Illusion by Tor Norretranders. Fair warning: this is a very dense book that covers a lot of topics.
