I can't help for the core question specifically, though I recall pain after diagnosis and while I was on Eliquis I don't recall still being in pain two months later. As the other redditor said, make sure to drink a lot of water and get up once an hour to stretch and pump blood. Even tensing your thighs periodically and bringing your heel up and down while sitting can help keep the blood flowing.
Also, consider getting a pair of compression socks - I fly A LOT, and these have really helped me for example if I fall asleep and forget to get up during the flight. My doctor says she recommends these socks even for people without history of clotting, it's just added support for your body to handle the stress of sitting so long.
These are the ones I use, they're not medical grade and they're a bit pricey, but I feel much better after my flights when I wear them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004BKIPW0/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I wear People's Socks. They're $35 on Amazon now but they're frequently are lower than that. Even so $35 means a little over $8 a pair and that's a steal for these socks honestly. I work as a trail worker in a National Park and hike anywhere from 5-15 miles a day ever summer for the past 4 years and some of my earliest pairs of these socks are STILL going strong. They're comfy, they breath and they're durable. I like them way better than Darn Tuff and they're way cheaper. I think I even found out about then on this sub so there's that too!
I buy the brand people socks on amazon. 4 pair packs for like $28. I’ve been progressively replacing them when they wear out, and I love them. I wear them year round as well. Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009Y9QCCS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_r9RSAbZF9512W
My legs aren't that big the picture might not be representing them correctly but here's the link, https://www.amazon.com/Kayhoma-Extra-Cotton-Stripe-Stockings/dp/B07ZDFB1G1/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?crid=1OAB0JUEGUZ1C&keywords=kayoma+thigh+highs&qid=1655745183&sprefix=kayoma%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-14, have fun.
Most of the ones marketed as thigh highs are not (unless you are in middle school). Like, they are at best, "over knee" even for (cis) adult women.
The best I found are these (which cost an arm and a leg) Kayhoma Extra Long Cotton Stripe Thigh High Socks Over the Knee High Socks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZDFB1G1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_CHRY78KBWHH3BANP1MNS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Took me a second to realize the picture showed they were actually knee highs, I hate when that happens.
For me, these ones were actually thigh highs (but also expensive) Kayhoma Extra Long Cotton Stripe Thigh High Socks Over the Knee High Socks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZDFB1G1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_CHRY78KBWHH3BANP1MNS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I got these my thighs are to big I'm really really heavy set person but they would go up my thigh with me being 6'0. Not the best colors but these are very comfortable https://www.amazon.com/Kayhoma-Extra-Cotton-Stripe-Stockings/dp/B07ZDFB1G1/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2C9GAITKL3HJT&keywords=kayhoma+extra+long+cotton+thigh+high&qid=1647011698&sprefix=Kayh%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-3
Amazon, they're Kayhoma Extra Long Cotton Stripe Thigh High Socks. Link here: https://www.amazon.com/Kayhoma-Extra-Cotton-Stripe-Stockings/dp/B07ZDFB1G1/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2S9E5ONTAMX35&keywords=kayhoma+extra+long+cotton+thigh+high&qid=1645936614&sprefix=kayhoma+%2Caps%2C162&sr=8-1
Here is where i got mine
Yeah I'm pretty sure these ones are the exact ones I bought (I bought the pink/white pair and the black/white pair) They're great! My legs are quite big but they're quite elastic so they still feel nice :3

How old are they? The tops of my feet are pretty bony and I always go through a period of a week or so where I get these “bites” you describe. Once the tongue leather softens up, it goes away. Also, wear thick socks. I recommend these from Amazon, they’re thick, comfortable, and I can wear them all year except for summer here in Colorado. I’m 6’5” and these can stretch as far as I need them to.

These ones are 30inches^^
The ones I reccomended initially were 27.6inches, how long exactly you looking for? I think 27-30" will get pretty far up your thighs given your leg measurements 🤷♀️

I wonder how these compare to something like this? https://www.amazon.com/AIvada-Merino-Hiking-Thermal-Winter/dp/B07F3FFTMK/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=wool%2Bsocks&qid=1605797745&sr=8-3&th=1

Assuming they're higher quality but.. 3 pairs for $20 vs. 2 for $16, and I prefer a thicker wool sock.

I bought some thick wool socks from amazon, you might have some luck there.
Also, mfa often recommends these:
Have you tried Dickies Dri-tech socks? They are fantastic for the price and extremely hard to wear out.

Size 15 here. I like these. Dickies Men's Multi-Pack Dri-Tech Moisture Control Crew Socks, Black 6 Pack 6 Pack, Sock Size: 13-15/Shoe Size: 12-15 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008M5S09S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_L5Qsmuebzy3HL
Pretty exclusively the Run 2.0 LW no-shows. Some colors stay softer longer than others. . . The black and the grey/green tend to get crusty even after washings after going through the swamp a bunch. The light grey and pink I've had last for 2+ years.
I always get a tiny little hole on the top of the big toe where the nail sometimes hits the top of the toebox in my shoes.
Merino. Effin'. Wool.
People socks, in particular, seem to be the best deal running. I bought a bunch of 'em and they held up really nicely over a three month trip mostly spent in Keens. Wore 'em a couple days in a row, no problem, no stink.
They're absurdly comfortable, warm in the cold and reasonably cool in the heat. I can't say enough about 'em.
Also, put your dirty and clean laundry in separate bags.
+1 for people socks. $26 dollars right now on amazon and I just snagged my second set.
Forget about your worries and your strifes! Been forever since I saw that... I always need socks - gotta take care of your feet or they won't take care of you.
