I own these tactical boots from Bates:
I've used them for at least 3 years, I'd say the soles are about 2/3rds used but I do manual labor all day. They're comfortable in all temperatures, breathe well, good support, etc.
If you don't need boots, they also make various styles of shoe.
I don't have much to offer that will fuck with your dick CSM. However, I got used to wearing jungle boots while in. I saw these boots at Gander Mountain, tried them on, and fell in love with them. I wear them all the time now. With a gel insole, they are very comfortable and they helped decrease my back pain. I do think they are 670-1 compliant if you are interested. I also have a pair in black I use as uniform boots for my Civil Air Patrol duties.
Insoles are the key as recommended by u/Username-Creative.
I recommend having a boot with over an 8-inch heal, as it offers more support for your ankles.
I'm not much of a fan for having a steel toe. It could get you into some legal trouble, should you ever kick someone.
I also recommend getting a boot that feels like a tennis shoe but also will have good traction. My recommendation would be this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001HPOGQ6 It has a huge amount of absorption, yet the grip/traction will be good for all kinds of weather.
You might also want to look into getting custom insoles made by podiatrist. They cost me $400 over 15 years ago, but they have lasted me for years! Well worth the investment. Everyone's foot is drastically different, and a majority of the time its not just eh shoe that counts.
Reebok is quite a know model within your industry (tactical military, security)
This model has a safety toe cap, but it's composite.
Because morons like you assume that people who don't want to be anally scoped by the government must have done something wrong.
Order yourself a pair of boots to lick.
I’ve been wearing these for almost a year now in a hot, humid environment and they have held up great. They run a tad bit small, smallest size they have on amazon is a men’s 3. I’d say order 2 pairs, the size you need and half a size bigger and return the one you don’t want. A little on the big side is ok, you can double up on socks if you need to and you’ll have a little room for account for foot swelling.
Well then I guess I'll have an extra motor if mine ever goes out :) good to know about the bucking, I'll keep in on deck for later. Boots are free for me, deployment benefits, and I need to break them in for ruck marching anyway. I wear that style of boots everyday to the point they feel like tennis shoes, so comfort shouldn't really be an issue for me, I wear Danner Tachyons and they feel like slippers after a few months. Insanely comfortable
Hello guys, i am currently training to go into the military (either 19D or maybe Rangers still have time to decide) but i need some boots to ruck in. and i have been looking up and have found two that i'm thinking on getting. but i need your opinion on which one to get, 1st: https://www.amazon.com/Danner-Tachyon-Military-Tactical-Coyote/dp/B01E46H68E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1514492643&sr=8-2&keywords=danner%2Btachyon&th=1&psc=1 2nd https://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Research-Mini-Mil-Transition-Athletic/dp/B00J7V6J2Q Thanks for your help guys
Congrats on making it this far.
I've had mixed results with 5.11 ATACs, their leather cuts are inconsistent-- one pair I had cracked within a month at a stress point. Another pair was just fine. It seems they're hit and miss (to me).
I love mine so so much. In fact, three of my coworkers took me up on my recommendation of them and they're all happy campers too.
I would recommend Bates GX-8 Ultra-Lites GTX Waterproof Boot.
I work in similar environment as you, they're as light as sneakers and good grip. Mine have lasted 11 years and zippers still work and treads only just starting to fade. I paid around $70 at a local shoe store, Red's Shoe Barn.
I know you don't want to break the bank, but be careful in how cheap you go in trying to save money on your feet. This is a job where you can be on your feet for 8 or more hours a shift, multiple shifts in a row. Where you might save a few bucks on boots at first, you either will spend it on replacing poor quality footwear, or worse on medical care for you due to any myriad of issues.
I am partial to the Bates brand, and there is a whole spectrum of stuff in their lineup, but Amazon has some decent discounts on their stuff if you know your size. Go to the store and try a couple pairs on of different brands and see how they fit first, otherwise Amazon / Zappos return policy is pretty easy especially on footware.
We've worn / issued the GX-8s for about 7 years now, and I am on my 3rd pair. Never worn the ultra lites but I have heard a lot of good things. They are one model down from the 8s as far as I can tell.
Haven't worn them but just found out about mini mil boots. Reviews on Amazon seem good.

Edit: sorry, just realized you wanted a pull on boot; these lace up. =/
