SORRY FOR THE LONG LINKS
Hey, there were a few people asking how to make it or if they could buy one. Because I despise the filthy bourgeois, I would rather tell ya'll how to do it yourself without me marking it up and without y'all paying shipping costs.
Step One: Acquire a blank hat. I got mine for cheap at a secondhand store in Queens. If you can't find one at a store in person, Amazon seems like a good place to check. This is a good one, and is practically the same one I have: https://www.amazon.com/Unisex-Cotton-Cap-Adjustable-Plain/dp/B00OKYFQCE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489516999&sr=8-1&keywords=blank+hat
Step Two: Find yourself an iron-on patch. I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/FUTURAMA-Express-Embroidered-Patch-DressApprox/dp/B00JHX08QC/ref=sr_1_1?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1489517086&
Step Three: Iron it on! I used Youtube on how to do it properly. And there you go, now you can be a delivery boy too
Skull Cap - https://www.amazon.com/Headshion-Skull-Cap-Multifunctional-Headwear/dp/B07P1FXRYV/
Been working well for me...
Bought one of these for the wife and it seems to work fine. Has a ponytail hole and should cover the temples. Cheap enough to give it a whirl.
This.
OP get a sleeping cap. You can get them on Amazon, it doesn't matter which one, but it will hold your hair in place. Added bonus, no bed head.
It's a bit annoying having to wear a cap at night, but the alternative is having your hair shift. Here's the one I have:
Something else, you might have to reattach every 2-weeks. It depends on a lot of factors; lifestyle, activity, your skin, adhesive, etc.
I can make tape last 3-weeks, but even at 2-week it's a bit messy, so for me, weekly was best.
Doh! Thought I fixed that...
This is what I meant -

AKA - Headshion Skull Caps for Men Women, Multi-Pack Multifunctional Headwear Bike Hard Hat Helmet Liner Beanie Sleep Caps
(but I also like the Manta slim mask for blackout)
I always wear a cap under my helmet. If it's cool, I wear a turtle fur one cap. But all other times I wear a Halo skull cap. Have several just so I can always have a clean one at the ready.
BTW: The last one I bough was in 2016 and still have two in service.
I use a head liner, skull cap whatever you want to call it. No more folded ears, and I don't have to clean the pads as much as I'm not sweating directly on them. I love this thing, and amazingly not hot under the helmet, and I'm in 100 degree weather...
Get one of these and wash that instead. Can’t recommend this enough. No sweat in your eyes (at all) and no sunburn on your head.

If silk/satin pillow cases don't work for you, try a sleeping cap. I use a beanie sleeping cap and I can toss and turn all I want, without worrying about my hair system.
Here's the one I used:
First - do NOT cycle without a helmet.
Secondly - skullcap. You can get them on Amazon for like $13. I have this one, it won't make you too hot or sweaty. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PVUR34K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Bonus: they help kill wind noise and can prevent tinnitus.
I have the same problem. The cat ears are an incredible waste of money, don't bother with them.
What has worked best for me is combining a cycling skull cap like this one
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PVUR34K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
With some comfortable wireless earbuds like the (excellent) Jabra 75T
https://www.jabra.com/bluetooth-headsets/jabra-elite-active-75t##100-99093004-15
You can enable hear-through on these which makes it easy to hear outside sounds while minimizing wind noise which is incredibly damaging and can cause hearing loss.
Yep! Headshion Skull Caps for Men Women, 2-Pack Multifunctional Headwear Bike Hard Hat Helmet Liner Beanie Sleep Caps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P1FXRYV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KK9CK4PFQQMQCMJ45WWG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I've got a couple of these helmet liners and I really like it. The main reason I got it was to cover my ears so they don't fold over when I put my helmet on.. that was really annoying me when I first got a full face helmet.
You can try helmet silks. It will not solve your problem 100%. They do help. Buy a few and wash them regularly.
Cooling Skull Cap Helmet Liner for Men - Motorcycle, Cycling, Football Head Beanie & Hard Hat Liner - Sweat Wicking Skullcap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071JH68QM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_JX2J774FF5ZVRWK8PF7Q
Engineer here. I had a similar need for a professional look, so I ordered several wigs from wigs.com and kept my two favorites.
Raquel Welch brand synthetic wigs are great. Mine are not my usual color or style, but I think they look better than those trying to mimic my Pre-cancer look. Their “if you dare” model in pale lavender is my fun wig...I love it.
Wigs are not super comfortable, but you stop noticing them after awhile. The nylon caps help. But like the others, I go bald (or fuzz now, I’m in the baby duckling phase of regrowth) or wear comfy caps like this most of the time. HTH, Good luck to your mom! 🧡
Any sort of hat under a helmet makes my head hotter too.
In the summer, I wear a skull cap like this one from Amazon
(No association, it was cheap and I wanted sun protection too)
I get it wet and sort of lightly wring it out before I leave and it keeps me cooler and catches any sweat in the cap. It dries out after a while but if I stop at a park or wherever to refill a water bottle, I wet it again.
Here is an amazon link to a bunch of cheap but wellish-made dad caps.
Those are what I would recommend for you hat wise. They fit most climates, are very casual, and provide the shading you need.
Thanks for that. It has to be natural fiber and can't be synthetic right? Or fire will melt it to the skin etc. A lot of them are polyester. What do you guy think about this one https://www.amazon.com/Headshion-Skull-Cap-Multifunctional-Headwear/dp/B07P1FXRYV/ref=sr_1_20_sspa
Yeah a good running hat is nearly required for winter running. That and a good set of running gloves.
There are the ones I use.
Running Hat
I use the VR cover basic set with the foam/pleather facial interface. For the headstrap i use this skull cap if its a really intense game. Earphones I've never had a problem with sweat (that I know of). For that you may want to use oculus earbuds instead.
I have a head about the same size. I use a halo cap under my helmet.
It works quite well.
EDIT: Here's a link https://www.amazon.com/Halo-Headbands-Skull-Cap-White/dp/B00318BKHK/
They have other kinds. I've only tried the one linked above but the other styles probably work well too.

^^ Above is what I got. I purchased a thin one though because I didn't want too much extra material and I wanted it to breath. This is a sports-oriented one, it does a great job wiking moisture and is smooth because it's designed to be worn under a helmet.
i use the https://www.amazon.com/Halo-Headbands-Skull-Cap-Black/dp/B00318BKGQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509994986&sr=8-1&keywords=sweat+cap&dpID=41vogebE8QL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch and the 6mm fake leather foam pad, i sweat alot but i havent damage my headset yet, the cap helps capture alot of the sweats from your forehead so only your face sweat has any chance to get into hmd. combined with a fan blowing at your play space will help alot. Alot of people ask or wonder, if that skull cap will make you hotter, not really, the fabric on top is very breathable
The wife let me use her benefit to get a pair of Nike Trailwind Swift's (non Rx but you can get with Rx). These combined with a cycling head cooling helment liner pulled down to my eyebrows keeps me from ever needing to wipe sweat except during really hard efforts with the temps above 90F. They have interchangeable lenses as well. Extra tip, if you soak this helmet liner with water and put it on along with soaking your shirt, you'll get really comfortable evaporative cooling until they dry of course.
I've got one of these that I use, and it works great! It also helps keep the HMD clean by keeping the oils or hair products from getting all over the straps.
Also, get yourself one of those sweat band skull cap things that footballers wear under their helmets. It really helped me.
Mine looks like this, although it was much when I bought mine. Halo Headbands Skull Cap Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00318BKGQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_wfdizbKYKTH5Z
I wear a balaclava when it is cold and it is very warm, indeed. The skull cap, however, is not noticeably warmer and it keeps my helmet interior cleaner.
My helmet is so tight that it mangles my ears without a skull cap. I bought this white mesh one. Also, I live in Florida where heat and humidity are big issues. I don't think the cap makes me any cooler or hotter, but I like that I can easily wash it.
Not sure if it's the same exact one, but I bought this one a couple weeks ago and it's fine for the price.
Sounds like you need an arming cap for your VR armor! :)

Just about any army/navy surplus store should have 100% wool watch caps that range from $10-$15. Or just buy it from amazon.
