Got this stainless steel one from Amazon last AAW: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007LQG9T2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_qXofBbJTC1DMF
It is great. Fits comfortably and durable, I've dropped it a few times but hardly a scratch.
I'm a huge nail biter and one thing that has helped SO much is a fidget ring. I like it more then other fidget things because it's attached to me so it's harder to lose or forget and it's descrete enough I don't get self conscious. I got mine off of Amazon but they have a bunch on Etsy too!

FYI: the precious is made from Tungsten so it’s super heavy. Also stupidly cheap on Amazon. The Ring is about $17 and the necklace is about $12.
Edit: The Ring - $16.99
You are definitely not being a princess at all!! I think the ring + engagement is important as symbolizes a lot of things that are not materialistic - your devotion and commitment to one another, among other things. It seems like more communication is needed here in terms of what each of you might want regarding an engagement - he may be avoiding it because he doesn't want to disappoint you, but it sounds like you are being very reasonable in terms of affordability right now. A conversation along the lines of 'hey you're special to me, let's do this one special thing together' could do the trick - and include your feelings about the ring and engagement, no matter the size, is meaningful to you beyond materialism. Good luck!
Just for some price reference points, I am browsing Amazon right now, and they have very simple, pretty, sterling silver rings under $20: https://www.amazon.com/BORUO-Sterling-Tarnish-Resistant-Comfort/dp/B06XPNVSGZ/ref=sr_1_9?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1534874852&sr=1-9&nodeID=9539899011&psd=1&keywords=silver
For something with a stone, I would look at Moissanites, here's an example for around $150: https://www.amazon.com/Moissanite-Engagement-Ring-size-Charles-Colvard/dp/B01LX2ZF4D/ref=sr_1_8?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1534875065&sr=1-8&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=moissanite+engagement+ring
Hope this helps!
Get a ring from amazon, it'll be here in less than a week. The $15-$20 rings are the same $150 rings in the local jeweler's cases.

I have thin fingers and can recommend to. Stay away from titanium and tungston. They tend to make those metal types of rings thicker due to the hardness of the metal. I hated my tungston ring, the thickness hurt my hand anytime I used a tool, or had to shovel. So, after 10 years of marriage, I opted to buy a new ring.
So, as far as recommendation, I don't have one. Though, I wound up buying this (ring)[https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076Q7ZDMB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_uHZACb4AQETZV] from Amazon as I no longer care how fancy it is, but it was thinner and looks nice enough.
I got it from Amazon! It's a wedding band, but I liked the blue inside (my favorite color) and I couldn't pass up the price!
