I learned the hard way that not all monitor stands are equal.
I got one of these (two actually, one at work as well) and tbf I hate the damned thing. They can be very restrictive in their movements, and in my situation I literally can't get the two monitors properly side by side (about a 1/4 inch gap, not really a big deal but I'd rather they were basically touching).
It'd probably be ideal to get two identical monitors, but in both cases for me they are wildly different. Doesn't change anything as I don't game on both. Really if you're just using it for side activities and not gaming I'm dubious you'd need 144Hz.
This one is pretty popular for qnix owners that replace the stock stand: https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=108&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082808&p_id=5970&seq=1&format=2
Also available on amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-105970-Adjustable-Tilting-Monitor/dp/B003L11FUY
It comes out to about the same price from both stores because monoprice will charge you like $13 shipping.
Splurge and get an omnimount play25x. I have and use two of them. They're amazing. I'll be grabbing another one very soon.
They'll handle your monitor just fine; capacity is 25lbs, your monitor is 17lbs without the stand.
Currently, my entire setup fits on a 52 inch desk. I have a 27 inch monitor for my main, a 28 inch monitor in portrait mode (basically on its side). Both of these are on a dual monitor mount: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FRLJBVV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also have my PC on this desk also. Mounting sounds like what you need to do for a fix. Highly recommend, as it saved a bunch of space for me.
I got a monitor stand that attaches to the desk. It gives me a lot more desk space and is a lot more comfortable.
This is what I bought: VIVO White Dual 13 to 27 inch LCD... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B083G6P7WH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
from Amazon! https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B083G6P7WH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Has great wire clippers to hide wires
These guys from EVEO. Honestly I'd already spent more than the wife wanted and these were the cheapest I could find, but they work well for the price point. The only downside is they're pretty stiff, meaning you can't really move the monitor around - you have to pull on the mount itself to actually move a joint.
Got you theses are the Vivo stands it’ll support your setup
This is the Vivian duel monitor stand in white. It’s built pretty strong.
Most hinged arms should be fine for this, but a dual-hinged arm is usually better for this than a single-hinged arm. For a relatively inexpensive but good quality one, I'd recommend the Ergotron Neo-Flex, though I'm sure there's probably an Amazon Basics for half the price if you don't care about quality.
Why will you not be able to find the studs?
That's paramount to a secure mount.
That said, the omnimount play25x is the best mount I've ever used.
Pricey, but worth every penny. Very well though out and designed. Made by ergotron.
Yeah, definitely a bummer.
I'm looking at grabbing a couple of play25x omnimounts for my monitors. Pricey, but worth it.
I’ve thought about a floating shelf, but the idea scares the shit out of me. This is the only wall mount I’ve found that’d support the 32 pounds: Wall Mount for Personnel Computers Universal Fit Any Pc https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000G1C7A4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KMsfBbJW7CY7T
But it says it maxes out at 18” height and the Aurora specs read 18.6”
hmmm , they don’t seem to sell the exact model i get on amazon anymore: Here is the single arm version with the same specs: Halter Single Pole With Triple Jointed Arm LCD Monitor Mount Stand desk clamp holds up to 27" lcd monitors https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EO7XH0U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NQlIAb95107TY
It held my dual dell 27 inch monitors just fine.
If you're willing to settle for something functional, I have an older 22" Acer AL2223W on an articulating arm that I'll sell for $20. It was my primary monitor until I recently upgraded to a Dell Gaming S2417DG.
Here's the monitor: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009102
Here's the mount: https://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-45-174-300-Neo-Flex-LCD-Arm/dp/B000AMJC2K
It ain't pretty or shiny, but it's cheap.
I have a TN panel 1440p 144hz main screen for gaming and whatever, and then a korean IPS on the left for color quality things like lightroom/photoshop.
Korean panel 200$, a huge gamble if you've read any thread on the cheap panels by QNIX or shimian or whatever, mine was smoky and dusty but otherwise a perfect panel
Main monitor is an ASUS MG278, you definitely have the specs to run most games maxed no? I have a 290x and i5, but I mostly play overwatch and csgo with the higher fps
I have dual gas arm mount with some nice ports in the base too, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0160DSI68/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Bought a monitor that was really way too big for my desk. I've barely had it for more than a couple months and I've packed it back into it's original box. It's a good monitor if you're looking for a value 27'' QHD.
I bought it new on Newegg and here's the page listing for this particular QX2710 monitor.
Standard specs- Screen Size: 27" Glare Screen: No LED Backlight: Yes Widescreen: Yes Recommended Resolution: 2560 x 1440 (2K) Refresh Rate: 60 Hz (though easily overclockable)
The original stand these come with is a little weak so I bought a VESA stand for it that's included. It's this one.
Would this case work with AIO coolers like the Corsair H100i and a Hybrid GTX 980Ti?
I'm moving to another home with my wife and currently our set up is a 6 foot table with our accessories (Monitor,KB&M, Speakers, headphones) and then to the right is a dresser where both our towers are on.
Our towers are S340's and the room we are getting is about 2 feet smaller so I was thinking of probably installing some shelve's above our monitors and putting the desktops there OR using one of these which is what I'm currently using on my PC at work.
So is there any other case that's wall mountable?
Cool, glad you enjoy it. That last picture makes it look like you could use a desk upgrade, or at the very least one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Mount--MI-1762-Computer-Articulating-Monitors/dp/B0160DSI68/
I have this and it's great for two heavy 27" 1440p monitors. I can position them however I want whenever I want and it has two USB ports in the base which is convenient (they just happen to be upside down for me lol?)
The GL2460 has 100x100 VESA mounts, just buy a stand like this and use it.
I was wondering what the desks in dorm rooms were like (specifically foothill). I am planning on bringing a laptop and a monitor (in addition to a desktop PC). I wanted to use a desk clamp kind of vesa mount to have a stand for the monitor and a laptop arm
or potentially a triple vesa mount for a second external monitor. Something along the lines of this:
http://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V003/dp/B009S7ALH8
Is even any place to clamp the VESA mount on the desk in the back, or should I not even bother with a triple mount and settle for a double mount that doesn't require such a clamp to stay stable? My for-sure monitor is 27 inches and my potential second monitor is 24 inches, and my laptop is going to be 13-15 inches. Will I have room along the wall to do dual monitors or will I have to settle with a single monitor and a laptop.
Thanks!
Hey thanks for the profile that is really cool. I installed it but do you know of anything I can look at to observe the difference? It must be very subtle.
I'm waiting to get my vesa mount right now. Here is the stand but most of these types of stands are fine. They offer height adjustment, tilt, swivel and monitor rotation.
I was going to say this. If your monitors support VESA mounting, you can get a dual monitor stand/mount that mounts to the desk as well. Or two single-monitor mounts. Your wooden desk surface makes it much easier to drill a hole and bolt the mount on for sturdiness and a cleaner look. This will clear up more room on your desk surface for important things like speakers and cats.
My previous order on Amazon links to this page, but they don't seem to have the single monitor version on there anymore.
from what i can see, no.you'd be better off buying a VESA stand, just because its standard. the screen is VESA 75, so any VESA 75 stand will hold it perfectly. something like this: http://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Single-Monitor-Adjustable-STAND-V001F/dp/B00MTWO5B2/
thats just the first result i found. there are many options with vesa mounting.
This one, I believe. I have this one, pretty decent for the price
I have the Varidesk Pro 48 Plus right now. The key for taller people is to get a monitor stand. I got this one: link and it works great. I'm 6 ft. even and would have at least 6" of extra height available if needed.
Just get a single arm VESA mount/stand. You're not going to find a stand from another company's monitor that will work with yours.
Here, something like this.
VIVO Single LCD Monitor Desk Stand Fully Adjustable/Tilt for 1 Screen up to 27" (STAND-V001F) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MTWO5B2/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_AK-.vbQX1JHDQ
