Should get a desktop length moussed to cover enough ground in order to accommodate the mouse and keyboard :D
I’d never use a software solution, even running on another personal computer through Synergy or something. The risk is too great.
A cheap completely software-free solution like this is best IMO: https://www.amazon.com/Undetectable-Mover-Parts-Software-Automatically/dp/B08GPGZ4Z6/
They're only like $13USD on amazon for the QCK+. Even if you're a minor without a job I'm sure you can find some way to make $13. I personally worked a few hours for my grandparents when I bought mine and I paid $20.
Edit: $15USD without prime.
> For the longest time I laptop gamed using old Xbox 360 game cases as my mousepad. In fact, it's still my preferred mousepad to use when I use a laptop.
The fuck!? Shroud describes my feelings on this perfectly. You playing on an old 360 game case is so ridiculous to me.
I mean I guess if you are playing some non competitive game like a single player game or minecraft or some shit... Okay whatever. Guess that doesn't really matter. But everyone SHOULD use a mousepad. They are like fucking $10. Just get one for fucks sakes. It makes your mouse last longer, improves the tracking, helps you ergonomically, it's such a trivial amount of money for such a massive gain in quality.
I have almost my entire desk I game on covered in mousepad and I know a shit ton of players who do the same thing. There is a reason they sell stuff like the corsair mm300 That thing is only $20 for crying out loud. You can place everything you need on it. Keyboard, mouse, phone, keys, wallet, whatever. So much room and such a better surface.
I'm going crazy over here reading these comments lol.
Here’s a link to it. CORSAIR MM300 - Anti-Fray Cloth Gaming Mouse Pad - High-Performance Mouse Pad Optimized for Gaming Sensors - Designed for Maximum Control - Extended (CH-9000108-WW) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01798VS4C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CcisDbX5T5PPV
Amazon have gone fucking bananas in the last few months, with tons of shit being added to the hazardous list that were previously not.
An example of this is a mousemat that I bought in february of last year with no problems. Suddenly, it's a hazardous material that can't be shipped outside the UK. It's a mousemat in a cardboard tube for fuck sake. They even let me order it again, only to cancel my entire order when they discovered that it was "hazardous"
Bunch of fucking mongs
This one looks better, is cheaper, and in my opinion has more practical dimensions.
Probably because monitor, keyboard, mouse, and desk/couch are all very specific to people individually. So it would make more sense to buy a monitor and attach to something like https://smile.amazon.com/COUCHMASTER-Ergonomic-Couch-Gaming-Cushions-Mousepad/dp/B00CCHRJ2Q/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=keyboard+and+mouse+tray+for+couch&qid=1571167825&smdm-noredirect=true&sr=8-7 .
There are smaller options but that one actually looks sturdy enough to put a monitor mount on it with little to no modification.
With thunderbolt I imagine you build some sort of pass-through system with a nice long cable management sleeve to make a bearable set up.
Do you have a mechanical keyboard? Unfortunately a mat wont' do too much for that, but you don't need to spend that much to get a decent mat. There are some inexpensive, but good quality mats on Amazon. I'd try that out to see what kind of difference it makes for you. Also, you could try some furniture pads on your desk.
Just FYI, Amazon seems to be price matching with Prime Shipping.
Edit: Sorry, originally copied the link on mobile which showed up a bit weird. Thanks to /u/halflife_3 for posting the correct link.
I've had this mousepad for about a year and have no complaints so far.
Of course, I'm happy to help! As for cheap mouse mats, I have this and love it. It's huge though, so you'll want to measure your desk to make sure it'll fit. If not, just about any mouse pad will do. Don't spend a whole lot of money on it (like getting one that's RGB). As for headsets, Amazon has a bunch that are great, and fairly cheap that you can look at. Personally, however, I would recommend getting a stand alone microphone like this guy and using a pair of headphones or earbuds. It might be a little more pricey overall, but I've found that most headsets are really uncomfortable for long periods of use. I splurged and bought some Bose headphones and have a standalone mic that I use. All personal preference, though. Now, for desks and chairs, I'm not sure about. I would maybe check your local Target for a desk, or IKEA if you have one nearby. I'd say the same for chairs. Don't buy a chair just because it has "gaming" in the name, either. Get a chair that you're comfortable in, who cares what it looks like?
Anyways, that's my two cents!
The solution to this would be to get a mouse-pad, maybe an extended pad would be your best choice, I got a 950x400mm mousepad for around £10 on amazon which is more than enough pad for my mouse and keyboard to sit on.
I just got this Pecham XXL mouse pad on Amazon for $10 about a week ago, I'm super happy with it, although I wish they would have put the starting/finishing point of the edge stitching at the top-left instead of the bottom-left.
It's half the price, great quality and seems like it'll last me forever. I've only ever owned a wristrest from Glorious (given free for review) and I really wasn't thrilled with the quality of it especially considering the retail price.
This is the one I'm talking about. $12.99 actually, but it has been at that price or dropping to that price regularly on Amazon for months.
Amazon Link Here you go.
Hi there! This is the link for the mousepad "https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-MM300-Anti-Fray-High-Performance-CH-9000108-WW/dp/B01798VS4C"
I just ordered one of these for my wife to play m&kb on the couch. Supposed to be good, looks better than using a regular lap desk. Will be using wireless m&kb with it. We’ll see…
It’s this one from Amazon:
Ktrio Large Gaming Mouse Pad with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0788LMLZL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I like it because it’s 11” in height instead of the usual 15” so it fits better in my desk.
From amazon not sure if this is the exact one i used a different amazon account
I have a fake leather one that I took from my work. Most important thing is just that it's stiff since it's not sitting on a firm desk. If you don't mind a more bulky setup, they make whole units you can use to make it more comfortable if you have the cash to burn, I might consider it but I wouldn't have a place to store it while it's not in use.
I'm not gonna dig up the link (Sorry y'all, on mobile) but last time this was posted someone pointed out it's outrageously priced. Like 3 digits for something that should run less than $50.
I dug it up anyway. who would pay $170 for it??
Lol yeah your title is actually pretty accurate but the post as a whole and their product page was plain confusing with their pricing. Especially since I had to add the item twice in my ~~card~~ cart for it to show at $9.99 The first time it showed at regular $14.99 price.
But yeah you'll be getting much more value and usefulness with the mat version. It seem to be on sale on amazon Prime as well if you use that instead. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-MM300-Anti-Fray-Extended/dp/B01798VS4C
Not a deal but i bought this Pecham off amazon and it's super nice and well made.
This might be a dumb question from me, but 80x30 is the same as 800mm x 300mm, right? If so, I've had one of these mats since early last year and it's been wonderful. I only have my board and mouse on it at a given time, so nothing is anchoring it down, and it doesn't slide around at all. One thing to note if buying it from Amazon is that it's gone down to around $7 from various deals pretty frequently, so if saving the $4 dollars is important, it might be better to just keep an eye out for additional price drops.
mine is a big 'mionix' mousepad on amazon, the corsair one is
you'll find it on sale, usually from bestbuy, for 10-15
I have a Corsair M300 extended and its great, exept for the fact that it smelled for a while after I got it. Its on sale on amazon right now
Legitimate question, what would these mousepads have over anything large you can nab on amazon? I picked up this one over a year ago and haven't had any issues. Cleans fine and has held up, so is there something specific about these that would make it worth picking up?
Amazon.
Corsair Desk Mat for about $30. It's the go-to choice for just a simple, reliable mouse mat for a fair price.
