You put into words exactly what I've thought for years. Two book recommendations based on your post:
>Is weed just a giant lesson about letting go?
I've actually said this exact phrase. I feel like weed taught me to surrender to life. I really liked the book Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins.
>I realized that there was more to life than being a "person identity" because I started noticing that I wasn't "me" when I was high. It's the thing that got me to obsess over the "who am I?"
This reminded me of the book Stillness Speaks by Eckhart Tolle. Here are some quotes:
"In you, as in each human being, there is a dimension of consciousness far deeper than thought. It is the very essence of who you are."
"When you recognize that there is a voice in your head that pretends to be you and never stops speaking, you are awakening out of your unconscious identification with the stream of thinking. When you notice that voice, you realize that who you are is not the voice–the thinker–but the one who is aware of it."
I would recommend the book Letting Go by Dr. David Hawkins. Here on Amazon (audio, hard/soft cover/digital). Letting do explains in detail how to give up your attachments and aversions to feelings to help you along your spiritual path. A Course In Miracles, the workbook specifically might be another book to consider. ACIM book
God bless you.
Having dealt with many spiritual problems over the years, I recommend that you obtain and study this book on Psychic Self Defense. It's the best and most effective I've found in 20+ years of esoteric study and practice. It'll shed much light on the issue of astral vermin and what to do if you ever have issues with them. I'd also recommend performing some kind of purifications and banishing prior to astral work to ensure a safe environment free of unnecessary disturbances. You can do anything from putting a little lemongrass oil in some water in a mist bottle, praying over it, then spraying it around the house, to full-on ritual magick banishings such as the Lesser Ritual of the Pentagram etc. The lemongrass thing is easy and surprisingly effective.
Here are the collected online works of Robert Bruce for anyone who needs them. The articles on Psychic Self-Defense begin on page 437. The book from Amazon I linked to is more comprehensive.
How about this fancy, leather bound edition of the Kybalion?
I have a thing about slowly collecting nice editions of good books.
Also, I highly recommend these incense. Japenese incense sticks are the best because they burn cleaner; no wood, all incense.
I think a lot of times there's an intuitive sense that something is there. Beyond that, symptoms can include thoughts and feelings that don't seem to come from you (usually negative or obsessive ones), feeling drained of energy and dragged down, hearing voices, and disturbed sleep/bad dreams/sleep paralysis.
This page has a really good list. I also recommend this book by Robert Bruce for some really good discussion of negative entities and attachment thereof (although his methods of getting rid of those attachments didn't work for me personally).
I understand where you are coming from, I first came out the closet as bisexual and later as gay, which I can attribute to the lack of representation, I've never felt more at my place that being bi (now at my 26yo) even when I look for a long term relationship with a man only since my sexual and romantic attraction only happens towards men and women only romantic. You asked an important question and what I can observe is that you are looking for validation externally (or an external solution), and that can only come from the inside, more precisely by changing your subconscious mind into a more positive framework for your existence, what happens out there would be completely unimportant as long as you are accepted and love from your unconscious mind. In doing such inner work is how I stopped permanently having the so called bi-cycle, now I understand myself, and I don't need other people to be a certain way to feel happy about my self . I've used since I was 21 Psych-K and the letting go (book) technique from David Hawkins.

On a side note I enjoy talking with you this is my second time doing so
I recently bought the audiobook version of “Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender”. I am half through and find it very useful to let go of negative thoughts and feelings.

The Kybalion was first published by the Yogi Publication Society in 1908 and has been reprinted many times in several different editions and formats. The lastest is the centenary edition pulished this year by Tarcherperigee. This is verbatim with the original edition of 1908.
Amazon have it in stock, priced very modestly at under $15 for the hardback edition.

Yes. Read this book. Although not purely shamanic, the methods he describes have been road tested and are effective. His 'New Energy Ways' document (available in pdf online) is fantastic for learning to sense and manipulate energy, and his book Astral Dynamics is also excellent for learning astral projection. Those combine well with the self defense book. Other useful methods can be found in the Hoodoo/Conjure modality e.g. Uncrossing work (you'd want to see a decent rootworker for that). Another book that may have useful methods for you is this one. That one is also not shamanic, but will provide another perspective from a working occultist with decades of experience dealing with this sort of thing.
This reminds me a strange book I once read. Biocentrism, it has that argument that the universe evolved to see it itself aka sentient

Have you considered giving up but gracefully? Letting go of all resentment and sadness for that.
I'm in that process. I hope more men take this path instead of ending their lives or dating desperately. This book is helping me in this process.
Sorry, completely forgot about your comment. I would recommend castor oil + baking soda , rather than dong the pen + tantra tricks (you have to have good clairvoyance skills because it involves visualizing purple flames). It's described in this book, but and it basically revolves circling birthmark or wart with blue point pen, and making a cross across, then doing certain visualizations.
Thanks for this! Sounds amazing:
Spiritual Enlightenment, the Damnedest Thing: Book One of The Enlightenment Trilogy
Lol, you should look at this book: https://www.amazon.com/Breaking-Habit-Being-Yourself-Create/dp/1401938094
You'll get a kick out of the title.
It's ok but dated. Check out this one by Robert Bruce. This book by Josephine McCarthy is also good reading.
The issue for me has always been believing both the good times and the bad times will last forever. Neither do; the universe is in an unending state of transition. We are not immune or exempt from that change but dammit if we have a hard time realizing that when we are riding the dopamine high. Once it wears off, however, it feels like we will never experience it again.
You will.
"You cannot now believe that you will ever feel better. But this is not true. You are sure to be happy again. Knowing this, truly believing it will make you less miserable now."
- Abraham Lincoln
I highly recommend Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins. When I was at my lowest of lows (fresh out of the ward), a very good friend told me this was the first and most valuable book they read after their husband decided to leave this world by his own hand. Hawkins teaches you how to break down what you are feeling and how to navigate from complete hopelessness to complete hopefulness.
It ain't easy, I can tell you that much. You very much have to surrender yourself to whatever sorrow, pain, anguish, grief, depression, or apathy you may be fighting. It may scare the living sh*t out of you but I promise that if you throw yourself in to it, we will see you on the other side a more powerful spirit.
In the meantime, give this song a listen. I recently ran across it and boy does it ever speak to me.
You got this.
Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David Hawkins, MD (He also wrote Power vs. Force, a very good read if not a bit dense)
He balances neurology, spirituality, and psychology in a pretty epic way.
Remember about neuroplasticity. Find some cheap and simple things to do even if they seem boring at first, then you can always tune out any learnt cynicism or defeatism by doing them.
You’re going to die and can’t control that, so your mind has to find a way to cope with what might seem meaningless. It can get quite angry about that injustice, so have a look at your approach to that. How that anger manifests can be subtle or extreme, so this is worth a read as well as. https://www.choosingtherapy.com/repressed-anger/
This is a gem, and you can download the audiobook. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Letting-Surrender-M-D-David-Hawkins/dp/1401945015
I HIGHLY recommend you read the book called "Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. It's such an incredible book, i owe my life to it.
check it out : https://www.amazon.in/Secret-Rhonda-Byrne/dp/1582701709
Might I suggest Spiritual Enlightenment: the damnedest thing by Jed Mckenna.
‘Enlightenment’ is simply the total surrender of ones personal narrative. That’s it. Boom. Done. Don’t need to be a monk. Don’t need to go to a monastery. And the only time to do it is now.
🙏
It’s hard but can be done. Try different things. Some suggestions are:
Never stop asking for help and never give up and you will be successful.
There are many books and write ups about it hon, this is just a fundamental fact anyone who has read about astral projection knows. But here's a good reference for yourself https://www.amazon.com/Astral-Dynamics-Out-Body-Experiences/dp/1571746161/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=BVKSITN117YH&keywords=astral+Dynamics&qid=1648550868&sprefix=astral+dynamics+%2Caps%2C292&sr=8-1
There's probably a PDF of it out there but I can't link that it would be piracy. This is a good guide for you and anyone who wants to learn about astral projection.
Here's the Wikipedia about JUST the plane though https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astral_plane
Think of it like a layer in the onion of our reality.
Hey I've been dealing with a similar situation and the book by Louise hay called 'you can heal your life' has helped me alot. Would definitely recommend.

I’m halfway through the last link - his book. It pairs nicely with Robert Lanza’s biocentrism - links below. I do think there’s an emerging new paradigm that brings these threads together, and it’ll be exciting to see what emerges from all of it.

if thats what he wanted then he couldve just said " i didnt know how important it was to save money and now I want to start investing in my finances"
Not My parents didn't teach me.
Op in my view is obviously feeling pretty bad against his parents for multiple issues most likely, and op if you do pick up this great book , it might help nonetheless but take responsability and it might help learning about discipline
So far I've only only read 2 or 3 chapters in detail and skimmed some of the rest, so I can't really give a full review of it. The author has a new-agey vibe to her writing style but in general the content seems to stick to practical methods and overviews of historical active dreaming techniques, with brief dips into science (e.g. brain wave patterns in different sleep stages). It's hard to avoid discussion of woo around these subjects entirely since there's so little modern empirically-focused writing on active dreaming, but nothing I've seen so far in the book actually advocated for it or was particularly egregious (and I have a very low woo tolerance).
If you want something more strictly focused on detailed hard science then Thomas Metzinger's The Ego Tunnel might be an option. Its primary focus is on consciousness as a whole, but it has sections on the science behind sleep paralysis, lucid dreaming, and out-of-body experiences. It doesn't contain any information on actively practicing them, but I've found that just having a better understanding of what's actually going on in the brain during these states is itself pretty helpful in practice.
Letting go and giving up are completely different.
"didn't covey properly".. Maybe.. It's difficult stuff to understand. Even harder to explain. I'm no expert.
Here is an example of a piece to the puzzle.
Good luck. Take care.

“My suffering serves a higher purpose” seems like a trick or your ego to keep you depressed.
Read this. Will heal you if surrender.

The occult is a blanket term that covers spirituality, mysticism, and magick. This also includes the tarot, palm reading and astrology.
The Kybalion, this book is supposed to cover the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and philosophy. I have yet to read it though, but the others I've talked to say it's one of the best out there for understanding some more of their esoteric ideas.
Sigil work is a type of magick that uses your will and power to generate personal sigils that need to be changed and then destroyed. Thus, putting it out in the "universe" and manifesting it.
As I said, I'm still learning, if anyone would like to know more here are the links to the books I have mentioned:

Sorry for the formatting on my mobile.
Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce, is a classic.
He is an Australian man that explains his experiences and how to do it.
I think he has been at it for about 20-30 years.
