True story, that's how it worked in the Robert Taylor homes. The gang leaders, building managers, and police had an uneasy truce.
If someone did some stupid shit that was out of line, the gang leaders would make sure to quietly rat out the perpetrator via the building crew.
I'm pretty sure that the recent rise in random street violence is directly related to the breakup/gentrification of the project homes. It's no different from the mafia or yakuza - once the central power is broken up, there are lots of low level thugs scrambling for money/power and nobody to keep them in line.
The book they're discussing is well researched, covering 3 decades of the Triad gangs and CCP agents using Macau Casinos and Great Canadian Gaming casinos to launder money
https://www.amazon.com/Wilful-Blindness-network-tycoons-Infiltrated/dp/0888903014
It's referencing all the lawsuits and interviews with RCMP officers and casino employees that were involved in many of the known cases of laundering money through Great Canadian Gaming, which was sold late last year to a NY hedge fund.
Tissue types vary greatly, so an organ isn't just an organ at all. You might want to check out The Red Market, an interesting book on the international organ trade and all the corruption, organized crime and hell that goes along with it.
For those who are interested in the details of the case and would like to see a take different from the typical "Free Ross" one, I recommend checking out American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road.
The book "Dreamland" is a great way to get a better understanding of this problem.
TLDR: It's a combination of the abuse of over-prescribed prescription pain medication that was heavily marketed, followed up by small time Mexican drug dealers that supply black tar heroin once the source of prescription drugs runs out or becomes too expensive.
The book gives you a better understanding of why you can't just easily shut the heroin dealers down. They generally are small cells run by only a few people, their dealers carry very small amounts, and if the people running operations in the US get arrested, they are just deported back to Mexico where they can try to enter the country illegally again or find some new recruits to do it for them. There's no big overlord or kingpin you can take out to shut down the flow. It's basically a highly successful franchise business.
Actually, his book points out that the donors did give a lot to the hospital and had a much shorter than average wait. Great book: https://www.amazon.com/Tokyo-Vice-American-Reporter-Police/dp/0307475298
I’m an organ donor and believe in it, but the system has been manipulated at times.
The book Dreamland on the shelf is about the opiate epidemic in America.. here's the amazon summary.
If you liked Hunting Warhead, you should check out American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road. The audiobook will keep you hooked until the end!
Check out: Gang Leader for a Day: https://www.amazon.com/Gang-Leader-Day-Sociologist-Streets/dp/014311493X -- the dealers don't make much money at all. They are kickin' the money to people up the food chain.
Are you suggesting books like wilful blindness, that cover the decades of CCP agents money laundering activity through our casinos and into our housing markets, could actually be true?
It's a really good book for any of the deniers out there, how rigged a few games like money laundering and housing have been here, making the market more expensive for all of the non-criminals in the country
My favorite drink is whatever alcoholic beverage I can get my hands around on a big ass cruise ship.
American Kingpin, the story of Ross Ulbricht (better known as Dread Pirate Roberts) and how he built and crashed the online drug market known as The Silk Road, is out and on my amazon wishlist. Hint hint. Just kidding, I'll probably buy it myself for lounge-reading on the boat.
I think I'm starting to get sick - sore throat, congested head, stuffed up nose - and I'm freaking out because I don't want to be sick on vacation.
I ordered American Kingpin on Amazon for some cruise/beach reading - did any of you follow the story of Ross Ulbricht/"Dread Pirate Roberts" and The Silk Road drug marketplace? I ordered a few times from there years ago when it was still operational. I find it fascinating. Can't wait to read it.
So it's officially been two months since I've tapered, and two months since I had my period. You would think that I would be stable on my sub dose by now, but I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms at night again. I posted on a suboxone taper facebook group asking if anyone had ever done a medically-assisted rapid detox and linked to the website online. I swear, people on facebook are so dumb. They assumed I meant the Waismann Method, or that I was talking about a rapid taper. One person told me to take the money and go on vacation, because tapering "isn't so hard" - if I could punch someone, I would. I feel like I'm being belittled and it's really frustrating.
It goes deeper than this. Highly recommend this book:
Like for like with Aus, incredible.
> In principle, that would be impossible because it's blatant corruption.
If you think the government is in any way above blatant corruption, I have a bridge to sell you.
really good book just came out
https://www.amazon.com/Wilful-Blindness-network-tycoons-Infiltrated/dp/0888903014
Covers the Triad gangs buying up Vancouver housing since the 80's with joint ventures between CCP, Macau Casinos and Great Canadian Gaming assistance.
The author did his due diligence, everything is sourced from police, rcmp, casino employees and lawsuits as well as various news reports from some of the scandals. It is just amazing how certain certain gangs from Asia came here and laundered/parked their ill gotten gains in housing with open arms really.

Oh if I was to recommend a book I’d have to recommend another one! It’s a about the person who set up the Silk Road! Fascinating read!

I just finished American Kingpin - highly recommend it, if you haven't read it: link
I had seen Deep Web (another great resource), but the book made me dig into all the government's exhibits, and it's totally f-ing crazy. It would literally be rejected by a movie studio, if someone turned in a script with all these insane twists and turns.
My underlying question for change is always... how the fuck would you keep uncompromising people alive or clear of coercion long enough to do anything substantial?
By now (especially with books like this one by Webb that highlight the deeply corrupt and criminal ties our shadow governments have with people who will do anything to compromise a politician) no one should live under the illusion that we live in a free and democratic society.
This past presidential election cycle should have been an eye opener. The moment any kind of "outsider" candidate got traction, the moment it came down to brass tacks they all become water carriers for the most powerful entities.
If you have family and friends you care about, they have leverage. If you are an egomaniac that only cares about prestige and would sacrifice said friends and family, well they go after your reputation and legacy. Once the system gets this corrupt, there is no way within the system to thwart influence.
And the problem is , once we in the west had value as consumers (more or less each some value) one of the few things that helped us get at least a modicum of representation as placation to keep us happy.
Post shamdemic they now just milk more from the better off and more and more people are just seen as a waste of air to the likes of the WEF.
Take automotive sales for example. From an actual person I know who does the books for a major car dealer in my area...since the pandemic and chip shortage they sell about 1/4 of the new cars they used to but make more profit. There is no price negotiation and they are selling overbook by thousands. They no longer focus on getting a little from a lot...as this snake eats it's tale it will be about getting more from less until implosion and the cycle starts again (usually violently).
There is a whole black market for organs. India is a hotspot for organ transplantation with organs from the black or "red" market.
People need to understand that a lot of these organs come from people who did not consent or were promised money and were cheated out of it. This is fucked up.
This report and this book say otherwise.
Can confirm. I live in a condo building in Vancouver. I'm a renter.
A few months ago, the fire alarm went off and everyone went out of the building. The majority of the people were young asian couples who didn't much speak English. Many of them wore designer clothes. Our cars in the underground garage, many of them are expensive cars. There are some ultra luxury cars, too. There are many unoccupied units as well — wealth stores.
This very long (but very detailed) report about money laundering in British Columbia as well.
I really recommend reading this book written by Sam Cooper to find out more information about the history and specific about how money laundering works in North America.

chinese money is unquestionably heavily influencing the RE market
boomer sells his house for $1,000,000 profit after selling it to foreign investor
moves to a suburb and buys a house cash raising the price of houses in that market
uses the rest of his cash to buy a second house as an investment, further pricing out locals
repeat with a million other boomers and you see how chinese money at the top caused all this, while simultaneously allowing people to say that it's actually canadian investors that are causing the problem
There’s a book called “the red market”. More than just this goes on check it out.
Some sociologists hate it, but I think Gang Leader for a Day is an entertaining read that gives a nice introduction to sociology and being a being a sociologist, especially the research and fieldwork aspects. And audiobook is available if that's your preference.

You might want to read "Wilful Blindness, How a network of narcos, tycoons and CCP agents Infiltrated the West". The author recently did a lengthy interview on the Jordan Harbinger podcast.

thats a great suggestion! You seems to know some pals from fintrac.
Can you pass on information about this book: https://www.amazon.ca/Wilful-Blindness-network-tycoons-infiltrated/dp/0888903014 to Fintrac folks?
> What I'm curious about is how Chinese money launderers can get that much money out of China. I thought Beijing had capital controls on how much a CCP citizen could transfer a year.
