I don’t have a link (I’m very sorry) but there are feeders that you can get that have a tag that you can put on your grazer’s collar. The feeder only opens when it senses the tag. I think it can work with microchips in the cat too.
Edit: found it :) here’s the link https://www.amazon.com/OurPets-WonderBowl-Selective-Pet-Feeder/dp/B00C1BYETO/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?adgrpid=55870052317&gclid=CjwKCAiAlajvBRB_EiwA4vAqiBgZPYf3gJTm0qFNnlck4BCNpsoKdrsMfAnjpYQSiJSo8Tg0BdwxUxoCgJIQAvD_BwE&hvadid=274742875576&hvdev...
Ebay, new, shipped was less than $150. careful most of them toss smaller balls like HALF sized tennis balls. Gotta read the info. Link Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/PetSafe-PTY00-14665-Automatic-Ball-Launcher/dp/B017N6IF5U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466189987&sr=8-1&keywords=dog+tennis+ball+machine

Just make sure that the second that little guy starts growing, you either get a bigger tank with a lid, or placed the lid on that. When I first got my red eared slider, I didn’t know they were good at climbing and one escaped. Another suggestion would be to get a basking area that stays in the middle of the tank. That is because turtles have it much harder trying to climb out if it’s not on land, here’s an example (https://youtu.be/QrvfthrHYMI) Make sure whenever you buy him a new item for his tank, that you watch him carefully to make sure he doesn’t do anything that could injure/kill them. If you are getting them a new basking station make sure the water level is high enough for them to get on, as young turtles don’t have a lot of strength in their legs. I would not recommend one of these as a basking area, as these do not stick to the bottom of the tank and can be used for your little guy to escape. (https://www.amazon.sg/Penn-Plax-Reptology-Floating-Basking-Platform/dp/B004PBCFG2/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Turtle+basking&qid=1624665217&sr=8-2) I actually used a very big rock (65 kg) for my turtle basking area, I placed it against some strong bricks and placed it near the middle. This way my turtle can’t escape using it but they still have a basking area. If you ever decide to put his new tank outside, remember to drill a hole in the side of it. Because if it rains, the rain water will raise the water level and if the water doesn’t escaped it will just keep rising till it’s high enough that you’re turtle can escape. Sorry if the English and grammar were not great, English is my second language. Edit: after posting this i rewatched the video, keep that box of wires around 30cm away encase water splashes from the tank on them.
For sure!

I'm in Canada, so depending where you are there may be other options. It's expensive, but I'd buy it again.
When I picked up my RES, Walter, his previous caretaker gave us a Penn-Plax Floating Turtle Pier, that I feel is unmatched. It's large, and easily supports Walter's weight and size (roughly 5 & 3/4 inch long shell - I believe he's about 5 or 6 years old now)
I actually recently replaced it with the exact same thing, because it was time to go higher and the one I was given was incomplete, missing the center column pieces to go the full 16 inches high it will support out of the box (so it only went about a foot vertical). I'm toying with the idea of going higher, or letting it free-float, because the only draw-back is the amount of space it takes up under neath the water's surface. He can still swim between it, but I think it would make it cleaner looking if it float.
Another idea is to look for a large piece of cork, which could be anchored, like a pond-basking platform, or let float freely. But it's not easy to find quality cork around me, and I don't want to trust purchasing one online sight-unseen.
Good luck!
Hi, generally 12” wheels are best for Syrians. If he is having to arch his back whilst running on it then it is too small for him, I have a Syrian and just purchased a 10” silent wheel for her and that seems to be perfectly fine. Recommended size is 12 inch but honestly depends on the size of your Syrian, but maybe go for slightly bigger just to be sure. I bought mine off of amazon, can’t find the exact one but this is pretty similar and is big.
As for cage sizes, 80cm wide x 50cm deep x 35 cm high technically is the minimum cage size. Atm I have a large cafe from pets at home for my hamster which is a good size however soon I’m planning on getting her a bin cage, which I’ve read are really good for them. They’re fairly cheap as well, literally just clear storage boxes but you’d have to look into them more.
Failing that, buying a large rat cage should be okay as well. :)
As for ball sizes, I don’t have a ball for mine as they can be very bad for them if you let them run around in it in supervised as they have poor eyesight and their feet can get caught in the gaps of it. So I would be careful with them. However if you are only using them for a short amount of time in a supervised environment, making sure there is no risk of him hurting himself then 12 inch should be fine too. (However may want to fact check that size as I’m not 100% certain what the requirement is, but 12” should be fine)
I looked for some time and this was the smallest. It's tight as you can see but fits in the back corner. It sticks out pretty far from the glass too btw.
The Amazon link has dimensions. I also use the Jardli diffuser and outflow. From what I can tell so far quality is good for the price. I couldnt get rid of scum without it unless I took the outflow out of the water. Surface is spotless now!
Got from Amazon. I'm liking the size for the shallow tank.

I had to buy new bottles. These glass ones were recommended to me on here. I'm not a big glass fan, but they work great.
this is what we use. We had many plastic one leak. Its a glass bottle, no leaks. Mind you the little carrot water gauge can come out to be cleaned (or lost lol)
I got this dock for my female RES— as she was too large and heavy for her floating platform.
I have made a few adjustments to the pier to ensure optimal functioning and safety—putting large river rocks under the bottom plastic support to ensure she doesn’t get stuck. Also drilled holes in the dock and ramp and attached them with zip ties as they kept separating
If you dont seek something on amazon just type in your browser "ball thrower dog" it shows a couple results for you
I used to use that dock and my two cents would be to upgrade it, believe me I know how hard taking care of a tank can be and it takes a lot of learning to get it exactly where you.
Here is the dock it is relatively cheap and it a very good quality one that I have found. I would also recommend having the UVB and heat lamp over the dock if you can keep the temperatures good.
I would recommend a new tank as well, a bigger one but tanks a pricy and it may be out of your means right now but maybe its something you want to think about long term.

You will also want to look into canister filters as these bad bois allow the good bacteria to stay inside the filter and eat all the bad stuff that can irritate and make your turtle sick, regular water changes are a must as well with a good quality water conditioner such as Zoo med Reptisafe.
Good luck and if you need any more help just let us know!
Probably need a better basking platform to get him out of the water. He needs to be able to dry off completely. I got this one for my slider but I had to modify it with hair ties on each post to keep the platform from sinking. So hard to find a good one for real. i bought this for my standard poodle. works great, fully adjustable for strength and angle, motion sensor to prevent getting hit close range, also enforces rest time because some dogs wont quit even when they're exhausted.
Not enough, especially with the grate in the way. He needs proper UVB or he can’t develop properly. At a minimum get one of these. Buy thin steel thread to get it under the lid and make sure he can’t get 6 inches near it or his eyes could burn.

Change the tubes every 6 months or buy some test cards to ensure it still works.
I've been using the Cascade 170 for the past couple months. I started with the Cascade 300, but the flow of the 300 seemed too strong for the fish (although I'm a beginner, so my gut instincts are probably wrong), and the water parameters are more than fine with the smaller filter.
Got you fam. Can't recommend it enough.
Absolutely. Tank is a 40 Breeder. Plan is to just let the turtle live their best life! They are baby Peninsula Cooter turtles and this size tank should hold them off for the next couple years until I upgrade to a 75.
I believe the threaded rods you mention is just park of the basking dock. It is a plastic "floating pier" which serves as a basking area for the turtles to dry off and get some heat/UVB. Here's the link.

Does no one ever use a puppy patio potty? They’re great for when you live on an upper floor and are not always able to get your dog on actual grass. I use this one and it works great for me. I have two of them and one leaks a tiny bit if he’s really shaking things. Fill it up all the way to the top each time and put the lid on tight. A bottle brush should help with keeping the inside clean.
There are those water bottles that you attach to a cage and when he presses with his tongue the water comes out
Stuff like this
He's pressing with his butt lol
ive bought this platform on amazon https://www.amazon.ca/Penn-Plax-Decorative-Floating-Basking-Platform/dp/B004PBCFG2/ref=sr_1_7?crid=2TUM0I0ILQNFV&dchild=1&keywords=turtle+platform+for+aquarium&qid=1613421076&sprefix=turtle+pla%2Caps%2C211&sr=8-7
and my slider is a full grown turtle, it worked pretty good and lasted a while but i had to buy extra legs as i keep my turtles tank pretty full
Looks really good! Did you know there's an intake with a built in skimmer? Would eliminate the big Eheim skimmer. https://www.amazon.com/JARDLI-Surface-Skimmer-Aquarium-Planted/dp/B01LZ2DV9W
I was so overwhelmed with lighting. I saved something to help me but it’s just a pita to share photos on here but I’ll share the basics of it below. How long is your tank? You’ll want to upgrade ASAP btw, they grow quick! The uvb tube light is recommended to be about 2/3 the length of the tank. If you get a T8 like this fixture it should go inside 6-8 inches from basking decor. If you get a T5 like this fixture it can go inside 12-15 inches from basking decor (which you prob don’t currently have the height for) or on top of the screen 8-10 inches away from basking decor. Either way, I’d get a bulb that says 10.0 uvb. From what I understand, the 5.0 bulbs aren’t as strong. I hope this wasn’t too much info at once & is helpful.
Thank you for your response! Sorry for the bad photo she is very wriggly!
They appear to be sores (almost like blood blisters) but they haven’t bled or oozed at all. We gave her a warm foot bath earlier to try soften them. She has a large plastic bottomed enclosure which is half line with fleece (she likes to burrow and dig around in it) and she poops in the unfleeced area which gets wiped up everyday. Her nails are always kept well trimmed. After doing some research it seems her wheel could be the issue. I have taken it out so she isn’t tempted to use it at all and have ordered a completely smooth and slightly larger one. I have also added an extra fleece so she isn’t putting too much pressure on her little paws.
