You say you built it but it looks like a carbon copy of this (plant stand)[https://www.amazon.com/Wooden-Display-Storage-Outdoor-96x95x25Cm/dp/B076QB2P7N/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?keywords=wooden+plant+stand&qid=1563058607&s=gateway&sr=8-11] that is being sold on amazon.
I'm not OP, but I've seen this one on Amazon (been searching for a plant stand myself) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G78DYWX
They also have other similar ones, but different material, different configuration, etc.
Thank you! I've been eyeing the shelf for ages but I'm unwilling to spend that kind of money on a plant shelf, haha.
He got it from Amazon. Tribesigns 5-Tier Plant Stand Pack of 2

My boyfriend got it for me! It’s from amazon, here’s the link. The quality is alright, 3/5 stars for me, it’s made out of bamboo which makes it a little wobbly and some of the predrilled holes don’t match up. A few pieces also splintered when we put the screws in, not the biggest deal but it’s definitely not the best quality. I would have bought a different shelf honestly.
Oh yeah, I think tribesigns have several designs of these shelves. This is the exact link to mine. It's currently sold out but I got the pair for ~$150, definitely not $1200!
I think I found it ! Baoyouni 7-Layer Indoor Plant Stands Spring Tension Pole Metal Flower Display Rack Space Saver Corner Floral Pot Hanger Shelf, Ivory https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B077KZ92WV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fab_9RsFFbQCQQ4GA

Not OP, but I've seen the shelf on amazon before (or at least a similar one.) It's really pretty!
I have mine on bamboo shelves (from amazon, they are slatted). The shelves are light and easy to move around!
These keep my nice bookshelves from getting ruined and they’re easy to move outside when it’s warm. Plus it’s not terribly expensive!
There are different variations. This is one of them. Was looking for something like this myself.
Amazon!

It was a great years but this looks very similar. Only mine came in sets of two stands with a perpendicular rod. https://www.amazon.com/BAOYOUNI-7-Layer-Indoor-Tension-Display/dp/B077KZ92WV/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2J6G990MHHEZM&keywords=floor+to+ceiling+plant+stands+for+indoor+plants+with+trays&qid=1661220274&sprefix=floor+to+ceiling+plant+stands+for...
Whoa, instead of a plant stand, I can buy a plant pole. This might be the key. The photos and reviews give is a sturdy feel. Looks like I could hang my monstera adansonii from it with no issues...
It was pretty easy to put together, don’t rely on the instructions that comes with it.
LMAO yes!!! Hahahaha, thank you for this comment and the epic laughs :D It's actually a tension pole mount for plants I found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077KZ92WV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My cat tried to eat all my plants!! There's actually only one real one left alive to be on this pole right now lol. I had to put them up high while also not giving her anything to climb to get up to it, so this works + I actually attached one of my VR base stations to it cuz the purple rug space is the only space big enough for VR in my apt.

Here it is!
Tysm 🥰 haha the shelves are this bamboo plant stand that weights literally like 10lbs it feels like, then it’s hung on bike mounts on the wall 😼 sorry not sorry landlord haha
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XX7477N?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Not at all! Ok so it’s a super light bamboo plant stand that is secured on the wall by those strong bicycle wall mounts lmao 😹 here u go!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XX7477N?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
If you can drill through the walls, add hangers! There are tons of options, from hangers that stick out or wall boards where you can hook planters on to. There's also what I mentioned before (for example). Although, it looks like that one doubled in price since I last got it.
PS I call my kitty Mr. Poopaws haha.
Even better, heres the link.

I got it on Amazon for pretty cheap! It’s pretty strong, but wobbly at times. But the weight of the plants weighs it down. Here’s the link!

I see a lot of people use vertical tension rods to hold up little shelves to put plants on. Not necessarily a ‘hanging’ solution but it gives vertical height. Don’t do the wall to wall tension rod thing though. It Will Fall. But if your windows come with a curtain rod you can for sure hang a plant somewhere in the middle so it doesn’t prevent you from closing the blinds. I have that setup on a few windows.
Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/BAOYOUNI-7-Layer-Indoor-Tension-Display/dp/B077KZ92WV/
Looking at mine, it's a bit smaller but here's the link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089RBBTSX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Looks like it's not available right now.

They smell a little for the first few days. I wiped them down with some essential oils cause it was bothering me. Otherwise I've been pretty happy with them!
If you already have shelving, I'd recommend using that instead of getting something new. Then, you can use something like plastic water catchers, cork, or a shoe tray to catch water, depending on your kind of pots.
I got one of these bamboo ones with space for hanging plants and it folds up, but there's a bunch of similar kinds and I got that one specifically at a heavy discount a year or two ago.
I'm so proud of you for the change you're making and your willingness to share. Shame can't stand the light.
It's a bit more traditional, but I purchased this one from Amazon and like it a lot. It holds quite a few plants, and you can customize how it's assembled to some extent. It's decent quality and the assembly took about 10 minutes tops.
I showes him one very similar on amazon and then he designed it and built it from scratch. Here's a similar one on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Wooden-Display-Storage-Outdoor-96x95x25Cm/dp/B076QB2P7N/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?keywords=plant+shelf&qid=1566662094&s=gateway&sr=8-15
Amazon sells this ... its called a Baoyouni 7 layer Indoor Plant hanger. It is adjustable and sells for $75. Canadian.
The top plant is just a golden pothos i have had for a little less than a year. He got it from amazon, you can check it here (first time posting a link so please let me know if it worked)

What tools do you have access to? Is it treated or untreated?
I am assuming you've got pressure treated stuff if you built a planter, and if so you could use the scrap pieces to build smaller matching versions that would hold small pots by a front entry way.
If it's not treated but you have access to a table saw, ripping them all into 1/2" slats and building something like this (https://www.amazon.com/Wooden-Display-Storage-Outdoor-96x95x25Cm/dp/B076QB2P7N) would also be a good project.
For shop-useful things, you could throw together a few DIY sawhorses fairly easily.
Cut them into 54 10.5" length pieces and have a homemade Jumbo-Jenga set
Also if you just google "Scrap 2x4 projects" you'll see a ton of neat/quick ideas.
Yeah, it was a good size. I got some grow lights someone in another thread had recommended and needed a wider shelf to fit them.

Thank you and the one I use is this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XJHH4BQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . Its pretty good.
Yes, it’s from Amazon. I got it for her this Mother’s Day :) It requires assembly but it has all the tools you need and it’s a simple build
I got the big one on amazon, the other from Craigslist, I prefer the big one because there’s space for taller plants on it. They’re both bamboo though I definitely recommend the Costway one it has a coating on the bamboo so water doesn’t ruin it!
Amazon has something similar in a 5 shelf and 6 shelf here
I bought the plant shelf for $50 on Australian eBay so I think it should be cheaper if you’re in the US. Here’s an Amazon listing for the shelf that I found x. And the lights are grow lights since my room doesn’t have any direct sunlight. I usually have them on during the day when I’m out, but most of the indoor plants that I have can do fine with low light / shade. I made sure to go with plants that have reputation for being unkillable (peace lillies, pothos, succulents, parlour palms).
Is there a faucet out there? Otherwise you're gonna have a pain running hoses out to it if you plant it up?
I'd put in something like this https://www.amazon.com/Hanging-Planter-Shelves-Organizer-Shelving/dp/B078R35KHN Obviously, not that one from amazon but you could make up something pretty similar for not too much effort. If you don't have water you could do succulents and if you have water you could do pretty much anything.
If it's shaded all day, you could put in some ferns and stuff for a jungle vibe.
