PSP Go is great. The only issue is battery life (3-4 hours). Not sure if you can get more out of it with just music. Carrying a portable battery bank solves that problem though.
The speakers themselves are weak - worse than most phones. If you want a great stocking stuffer, this little headphone amp/speaker sounds awesome and works well with the PSP Go. Otherwise, you should be able to use headphones or anything bluetooth.
Try looking into pillow speakers. I don't like trying to sleep with headphones on, this was a good solution. It goes under your pillow and the one I had was almost impossible to hear if your ear wasn't on or very near the pillow. I used it with cotton and with feather pillows, but non with memory foam.
This one is closest to what I had that I can find on Amazon.
I have the gold and it looks amazing, but it looks weird next to the Switch's blue and red.
If you want another fun little gadget for the switch, this speaker fits in the headphone jack and makes the handheld sound a good bit better. I love it. Works great on other handhelds too (3ds, 2ds, PSP).
One can use a vibro speaker installed close to the neighbour's floor or walls.
Ive seen something as simple as a speaker with the cone cut off and hotglued to the plate.
This like this exist that wont break the bank.
Bear in mind the exciter should be sturdily mounted so that the energy goes directly into the plate.
You're going to need more of an AMP than a preamp to get the plate to move though. The pre would be if you also have a pickup on the plate that you're using to go back (in the case of a reverb effect). you would have a pickup or another transducer connected to just the plate for that.
An amp to excite the plate, and a pre connected to the pickup for the return trip.
IMO it's overkill, unless you want to make your trunk rattle and stuff.
I would go for something like this if you just want to add some thump, but that's just me.
Maybe something like this below with a big USB power bank battery. It has an internal battery good for 10 hours, but it sounds like it can be charged (via a usb power bank battery ? ). Maybe go to a Best Buy to try and see if this is viable. Bring your audio source.
Yeah I'm only looking to add a single JBL 12, so I was curious if I'd even need to dynomat the trunk, but I definitely don't want the obnoxious metal rattling sound outside the car.
I like Arden Audio for anything that isn't a custom job. Their prices are the best in town and they are usually cheaper than Amazon.
With a CRV make sure you have them disable the Active Noise Cancelling or you'll get crazy feedback and a hum through the Subwoofer.
Since it's a hatch you don't need to go too crazy to get it sounding loud in the cabin. I'd look into a powered subwoofer like these. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0854N47QN/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_4WAJ8VKZTX4M51P0PXRM
I had a similar JBL powered 12 in a Crosstour and it slapped.
i think best would be a loop pedal and play the backing tracks yourself, but unfortunately, they're not cheap for being standalone pedals
another option you might try, for playing pre-recorded audio, is a transducer speaker, or even more affordable, "vibration speaker" ... turn any surface into a speaker!
I got some like this that were terrible. Then I found this one on Amazon that actually sounds good:
Portable Speaker, Leadsound Crystal 3W 27mm 8Ω Mini Wireless Speaker with 3.5mm Aux Audio Jack Plug in Clear Bass Micro USB Port Audio Dock for Smart Phone, for Pad, Computer (Black) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01HB18IZ4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_J3NYHC2PF5ETSPEV9WNG
This is what you're looking for: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Speakers-Leadsound-Portable-computer/dp/B01HB18IZ4/
I'd either go the bluetooth route (get a bluetooth adapter + use BT speaker of your choice), or grab a headphone amp or speaker.
I stick to headphones, and have only tried this 3.5mm powered speaker: Amazon Link
This speaker works great and pumps a lot of volume. I use it on my switch, PSP, and 3dses. It's still not the most comfortable thing to deal with weight wise, but I'd still recommend it.
My next step might be some of the neck speakers / wearable speakers / wraparound speakers. Otherwise, just headphones.
There's no way to do that without modding it. But you could buy one of those small speakers that connect to the headphone jack - they don't add to much bulk to the iPod: https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Speaker-Lithium-Interface-Computer/dp/B01NAFNT1M/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=mini+speaker+headphone+jack&qid=1601663121&sr=8-7
I bought [this one from Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Speaker-Lithium-Interface-Computer/dp/B01NAFNT1M/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=small+speaker+headphone+jack&qid=1596375560&sr=8-5 ).
It works great on my 2ds XL and some of my other handhelds. Much louder and a bit more bass than you'd expect.
They should be able to recommend some if it is a requirement. Almost all have an interface.

To rephrase your question, you have a USB that contains .MP3 or .WAV files and you want to plug it into something that can read those files individually, and then convert the files into sound. You want to retrofit this into your Sony clock radio.
There are small devices such as this: https://www.amazon.com/Haoponer-Portable-Digital-Display-Speaker/dp/B010AUWVLK
It's conceivable that you could take out the main board and connect the power from and sound output to your clock radio.
However, I don't know how much unused space is in your clock radio. Also you would probably need to retain access to the device's buttons to make the USB play and skip between files.
A lot of these ideas will not work so be wary of the advice. I actually work and do rf test in shielded rooms for rf testing. Vibrational or resonance speakers vibrate the surface they are on and turn the surface into a speaker diaphragm. Most shield rooms are sheet metal laminated on some composite wood core. Those vibration speakers do penetrate as they oscillate both sides of the wall. I've used them with success. Here is one from amazon. You just stick to the outside of the room with some pressure and both sides will hear sound. You can even underdrive this one with a 10W amp and still meet your needs.
I read the article (no fair!)
> The new Advanced Wireless Receiver (which is built into the power cord) needs to be used with the Roku Streaming Stick+. The mini-USB port will help users not substitute another cable.
I have one of these cords, from a cheap mini speaker / USB mp3 player.
Ok so I suppose the two power banks would work best. Is raspian the same as retropie? I believe I just updated to 4.2.2(?) yesterday. Would that be the same?
Edit to add: what about a speaker? Would this work?

(Sorry not sure how to make clickable link and I'm on mobile.)
I've never used the one l linked below, I just searched for "collapsible Daisy chain speaker" but I have a similar one that I got for cheap from somewhere. Be warned that they tend to introduce noise/static which is noticeable when Alexa isn't outputting sound. So I'd recommend a Y audio splitter to send one feed to your stereo and one to your always on speaker.

i would think weight would be an issue but https://www.bose.com/en_us/products/speakers/wireless_speakers/soundlink_mini_ii.html#v=soundlink_mini_ii_carbon
However, i have one of these and love it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007OYAVLI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
you can even string many of them together for better effect.
Oh sure, I bring a little mini-speaker in to use when no one is around.
This thing has given me more value than probably anything I've ever bought. Good sound quality, completely portable, no batteries, and totally indestructible (in my experience).
I don't have those, but I do have the whole set of mini-speakers from the same company.

They look much better in person than in the pictures online. I mainly got them for their look, since they're pretty adorable. They're not the best in terms of quality, seeing as how my phone's speaker can go way louder, but they're pretty good for listening to audio books off my iPod while playing video games that don't require me to pay attention to the sound, or while working at my computer.
