Protein "milk shakes" are also a great way to sneak in extra nutrients.
Orgain's Vegan Creamy Chocolate Fudge is my go to. Blending it with some spinach, milk, half a banana and some ice always tricks me body into believing it is drinking a chocolate milk shake- it tastes that good!

You can get a large tub for around $20 on Amazon.

PS- As a fellow twin I just wanted to say how lucky your sister is to have you. <3
True Lemon (and True Lime/Orange) accomplish this well, and super conveniently by coming in individual packets. Amazon sells boxes of 100 fairly cheap. Great for flavoring water, dishes, and baking. Does not taste like fake fruit - it’s just crystallized citrus.
pea protein powder. you can add it in dairy free milk, oatmeal, and dairy free yogurt! :)
my local walmart & vitamin stores carry this brand as well pea protein
I break out with acne every time I drink a whey shake, so I switched to plant-based protein powders a few years ago. I tried a few hemp powders and they tasted awful. I found a powder I really like from the Orgain brand. It's comparable in taste and texture to some of the whey powders I used to drink. They sell it at Costco in Southern California on sale at $24 for 2.74 lbs, which I stock up on, otherwise it's $30 normally. You can also get it off Amazon.
Note: Do not get Vanilla bean, it tastes awful.

I do, I usually have a scoop or two a day. I like blends. True Nutrition vegan protein optimizer is my favorite (45% pea, 45% rice, 10% hemp). And it's cheap, $9/lb. You can also build your own blend on their website, it's super easy. And they have a coupon that saves you 5% off site-wide, never expires "GOVEGAN"
I also hear good things about Orgain, but haven't tried it. Saw it on amazon earlier for $17 ($8.50/lb) https://www.amazon.com/Orgain-Organic-Protein-Powder-Chocolate/dp/B00J074W94/?th=1
Orgain protein powder is $10.95/lb amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Orgain-Organic-Protein-Vanilla-Packaging/dp/B00J074W94?th=1
Truenutrition is $9.50 / lb (Plus $7 flat rate shipping, you choose how many lbs): https://truenutrition.com/p-1169-vegan-protein-optimizer-formula-1lb.aspx?
Non-whey and non-plant, so are you basically specifically looking for egg protein recommendations?
I usually recommend Orgain, but it's plant based. However, it tastes great! And it's easy to get at Costco or Amazon.
Orgain is the best I have tried.

It's currently on sale for a great price, but from Amazon it's usually about $21-22 a container, which comes to $1.10 per serving, which is still much cheaper than what you're using now.
Chocolate is definitely the better flavor, and looking at the label it's not actually hemp. But it's cheap, tasty, and good enough.
Oh awesome.
You can hit a high protein requirement on a vegan diet. I drink protein powder too, and while I tried two vegan protein powder brands that were gross, Orgain Creamy Chocolate Fudge has been really good, and doesn't include soy. There's also Ripple brand Pea Milk, that's more protein dense than cow milk, which doesn't include soy, and there are nut milk which have a high amount of protein which are also soy free.
While tofu and soy based alternative meat are off-limits, there's Seitan, which is very protein dense (100 calories have 20g of protein) and apparently can be used to make a legit steak, which is still crazy to me.
This one doesn't have that chalky taste. I tried it and recommend it.
Orgain Organic Plant Based Protein Powder, Creamy Chocolate Fudge - Vegan, Low Net Carbs, Non Dairy, Gluten Free, No Sugar Added, Soy Free, Kosher, Non-GMO, 2.03 Lb (Packaging May Vary) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J074W94/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_JE6M6DPC20H63SFKD5Y5
My doctor advised taking B6 four times daily, unisom at night and that helped some. What really got me through was ICE COLD lemon water. Specifically these lemon packets.
True Lemon Bulk Dispenser Pack, 0.028 Ounce, (100 Packets) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003YP3MUS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_RMM4RD3GHQXFCJ9CYTQF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I usually get the Walmart brand but I wanted to try something new so right now I have the Amazon brand but they're both great.
+1 on the buttermilk powder. This way it's always there when I need it without concerns about wasting or spoilage.
Can confirm. I use 3% as well. It adds a bit of flavor, but most importantly it makes the interior super soft while maintaining the crispy exterior. I use this one off amazon.
I have this same problem and I LOVE the Orgain protein powder. Sold here on Amazon, or at Costco.
Not just Pedia-Sure, but also the Carnation breakfast drinks. My fruend had the same issue, not really gaining weight and her doctor told her mother to give her these drinks. She gained weight.
If you’re worried about the sugar content, go for the ones from Amazon - these
They’re good and I use them for myself and my children. When my youngest went through a period of vomiting so much he was losing weight, this drink helped him gain it back.
Your dad’s a douche for installing all those buttons, and I’m sorry. But I also applaud you, because you recognize that thtese buttons were installed. You’re miles better than he ever was.
I can also relate to the little girl wanting her daddy thing - I have had the same moments, even now even though he’s passed. I want the daddy I thought I had back, not this THING that he became. hugs if you want them.

I use this protein, with the subscribe & save discount + 5% amazon credit card discount, it cost me about .75 cent a serving. Plus it tastes good.
Flour - King Author Bread Flour. Best i've seen locally with a high protein. I think I'll consider ordering something soon thats a bit better.
Makes a ~750g loaf when done
Ingredients
Starting at noon the day before
The next morning.
Monster zero if I need caffeine but don’t want coffee
Have also been drinking green superfood powder (Amazing Grass Greens Blend... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00112ILZM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) as a coffee alternative in the afternoons. Gives me a feeling of drinking a tea or coffee and also convinces me I’m being healthy.
I drink an orgain protein shake within 15 mins after every workout. Timing is important. I drink it on site, I don't wait to get home to drink it. It tastes good, and it's super easy on my digestive system because it's all plant based.
I typically bring it pre-mixed in this shaker bottle.
Here are a few ideas:
Lower hydration. Somewhere in the 60-64% is a good starting point, but it's up to you.
Consider adding some diastatic malt power (here's the one I use). This helps give a little more browning and crunch if that's what you'd like. You can get somewhat similar results by adding olive oil to the dough or brushing it on top afterwards, but I prefer to use the malt power. I personally find ~3g of malt per 500g flour to be about right, but you can experiment. This isn't used for traditional Neopolitan, but I'm usually aiming for a middle ground between NY and Neopolitan styles and like having it in my dough.
You can also play around with temperature, but you don't want to turn the flame down too much so that the bottom burns before the top crust is cooked. There's a balance here, but I'm sure you'll figure it out with practice.
I use gold medal or King Aurthor bread flour. I didn't know some flours added malt already. I will have to check the label!!
Ifor my baguettes I start with a 190g/190g poolish (100% hydration) for 24 hours. then for the dough add 220g water/380g flour/10g malt/8-10g salt/2g yeast
This is the amazon link to the malt I use. (disclaimer: I have NOTHING to do with this company...just a happy buyer)
This protein powder is a good way to get veggie servings in and it doesn't taste like vegetables and is GD friendly. You can mix it with berries, almond milk or another liquid. I haven't tried this flavor but personally I like the coconut almond one I think it is. https://www.amazon.com/Vega-Protein-Greens-Vanilla-Servings/dp/B00MYRXIIS/ref=sr\_1\_17?crid=34ZQWG18BSZKA&keywords=vegan+protein+powder+sport+almond&qid=1660059506&rdc=1&s=hpc&sprefix=vegan+protein+powder+sport+almond%2Chpc%2C...
I'm also overweight, I feel your pain. Things that have worked for me in the past:
1) Try to get more sleep. Your body wants to eat when it's tired. If you're staying up late you will get hungry.
2) Don't have snack food around in the first place. Don't keep it in the house.
3) Force yourself to drink a glass of water prior to eating anything. I like to add one of these to my water: https://www.amazon.com/Enhancer-Dispenser-Packets-Unsweetened-Flavoring/dp/B005ECLIUA/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3VMT88JT7YPH7&keywords=TRUE+LIME&qid=1659467457&s=grocery&sprefix=true+lime%2Cgrocery%2C111&sr=1-3
Good luck.
https://www.amazon.com/Orgain-Organic-Protein-Powder-Chocolate/dp/B00J074W94?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Tastes great and isn’t chalky.
When I’m not being cheap and avoiding artificial sweeteners by buying the chalky bulk bin powder with no flavouring I use this one in smoothies with peanut butter.
If you want to go with a lemon powder that's pure lemon with no sugar, True Lemon works very well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003YP3MUS/
That company makes lime, orange, and grapefruit as well.
I've got some dope intel for you guys in case any of you are also in a situation where you can't be caught with Kratom.
Buy a large container of "amazing grass" off Amazon, empty it out and you've got the perfect kratom container.
I find protein shakes a good compromise for when I don't feel like eating but know my blood sugar's gonna tank if I don't have something (lactose/gluten intolerant T2 diabetic)
I use Orgain's chocolate powder with oatmilk + ice cubes, with a tsp or so of orange-flavored psyllium (think Metamucil) - makes a nice creamy, cold chocolate/orange shake I can drink down slowly without thinking about it too much. There's premixed versions of the Orgain stuff as well but they're all milk-based, and I don't need that much bathroom time, sorry.
The biggest thing is- what foods do you *really* enjoy, and how can you make them easy/more convenient? Having foods you really love makes eating more a pleasure. For me it's pho; there's a few places near us that will deliver, and I make an event out of it if I can. Others are things like corned beef hash- I can meal prep that easily, and have a handful of pre-made frozen pans ready to go to pop in the toaster oven to crisp up when I'm mentally fried.
