I saw this brand on Amazon and they had a few different models. Is there a specific one you recommend I was looking at one that was around ~100 dollars. I was looking at these
I usually wear a compression sock when I need to do a lot of physical activity. I use something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M3Q3VFG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_L6UhFbZTA719Z
I’d also start taking a regular regimen of an anti inflammatory drug, such as ibuprofen, before you start moving. If taken on a regular basis for a few days, I notice a decrease in pain for a little while.
Also, as for braces. I used more compression to keep warmth and that feeling of stability, keeping things in line. But again I had developed some muscle and some movement compensations. Like when I would need to brace or do a cut like motion with my bum leg I would tend to turn it inward so more of the strain was directed into the calf and foot rather than the knee. I gained a bit of a inward pronated 'duck foot' like walk that would help compensate. I had to unlearn that when I got my replacement.
Early on however I used a custom molded hard brace, but it wasn't that comfortable and was more for trying to still play basketball. You can definitely spend some money and get some fancy ones. If you are pretty mobile still though you could probably get by with a good strapped hinge compression one like
my favorite non hinged compression are the Mava ones.
Also I'd recommend looking up Knees Over Toes guy on youtube. His approach has helped me a lot and will help you build the muscle for stability.
I found using the Alta knee pads really help ( https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F7FM2CM ) . For going prone I just lean back and fall onto my knees. With the Alta pads my knees don't feel it on the dirt, rocks or even concrete. To me they are comfortable and I sometimes forget I'm wearing them. At least until I try to get in the truck after the match and catch them on the bottom of the dashboard.
Do you have a friend who can interpret for you? Or maybe email the doctors office with some follow up questions? Seems like some of the questions you dont have answers for yet are: ....with physical therapy and careful use is this going yo get better or do I need surgery? ....should I limit activity? ...reading the diagnosis ot says I have a meniscus tear, does this need surgery or will it heal?.... however, maybe you should get a second opinion because it seems like the doctor did not convey to you the very basic information you need. Besides that I would say (1) get physical therapy as soon as possible...physical therapists really help in lots of ways. (2) RICE anytime it hurts. Probably ice it before you go to bed. Knee joint is thick so ice for 15 to 20 minutes to really let the cold soak into the injured tissue. (3) maybe try this knee brace. I tried 4-5 different knee braces and this was the only one that helped. Lots of other people on my sports team use it as well. It has metal for lateral stability, but it's not so bulky that it gets in the way, and it seems to have good compression that really helps. Hinged Knee Brace: Shock Doctor... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0059MN72W?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share good luck. I hope you find a way to get food info and good treatment
You can get some bmx knee pads that do the same thing, but are way cheaper. I wear them with other compression pants. It's nice to be able to swap out pants between games.
I just watched a video where the goalie (I think trav4oilers?) said his goaliecoach recommended these bmx kneepads under his goalie knee pads to absorb extra shock.
Also avoid the gortex with whatever you get. I use ankle supports when I do anything longer than 20 miles like these
Limited-time deal: POWERLIX Ankle Brace Compression Support Sleeve (Pair) for Injury Recovery, Joint Pain and More. Achilles Tendon Support, Plantar Fasciitis Foot Socks with Arch Support, Eases Swelling https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M3Q3VFG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_dl_6G6XWD7HM1RZHK2QC53R?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Would highly recommend using some KT tape.
I have messed up knees as well and KT tape has been wonderful for me, especially when paired with a soft sleeve.
Something like this:
After a lifetime of road cycling (now 61), and getting tired of people trying to kill me every day, I've moved to running. When my knees started hurting (they never hurt before) I took a chance and bought a couple of these...
I find them VERY helpful. When I run with them my knees are much less sore/painful. I have also been doing a lot of hip and knee exercises, which I'm sure are helping, and still... if I forget these sleeves I really feel it from a few miles in right through the next day. With them, I have very little pain during or after.
I think that if one can fit into your budget you have very little to lose.
I use these when I'm just doing ledges or my little rail I built at home - G-Form Pro X2 Knee Pad(1 Pair) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JJ27PVP/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_HD979XXE631C65HJQFR2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
When I'm at the skatepark I use these - 187 Killer Pads Slim Knee Pad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NBSM281/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_TH7Y8EJ381GGDSVYFPRY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have a meniscus tear on my left knee from a fall. Ortho didn't recommend surgery. I've been working to strength the muscles around the knee and like the run that you did, any serious work and I pay for it later. It actually feels like it's the cyst that formed this is giving me all the trouble.
Anyway, I picked up a compression brace on Amazon. First day, it felt miraculous. Weeks later, no longer miraculous but the fact that it's keeping the inflammation down has made a huge difference.
I know, it's not a permanent fix, but at this point, it's better than nothing.
Here's the link for the one I use
this is the one I use. It has directions to measure which size you need on the page.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M7S0DQF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share could of sworn that I included the link to the knee pads in my post. Both helmets you are looking at do not have chin guards which is a non starter for me personally. I saw your scooter can reach up to 25mph same as my emove cruiser. When I ride to and from work every day I wear a full face motorcycle helmet/mountain bike helmet, a mesh coat with ce rated back, chest and elbow protection during the summer and have a riding coat for the colder months. I also wear the knee pads or riding pants and boots. For gloves I currently have a pair of leather gloves but I'm looking to upgrade. When you fall you want gloves with wrist splints that will stop them from hyper extending so you don't have to wear a medical splint for a whole month like me.
I'd honestly return that helmet and get a downhill/motor cross helmet at a minimum. It's not if you will crash but when and even if you are. Going slow doesn't stop a car from crashing into you. I use these for knee pads. Super quick to take on and off. Some people will say it is overkill but I rather be over protected than under protected.

I LOVE these. 3 articulating hard protectors make it very comfortable. Easy to take on and off with their snap lock system.
I use a beefy ShockDoctor hinged brace. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0059MN72W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_B3GA85NX4DA5CR06NWMD?psc=1
I tore my meniscus and plica, broke the tip of my tibia (multiple times...), and strained my MCL in high school and college.
I've got some bad instability in my knee and this brace has been good for me.
> If you really want in between, get the fox one size fits all (though I think the inside of the Leatts is more comfortable)
Thanks I just bought the Fox’s and will see how they compare: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E8UN6CW/

Pricey but worth it, super comfortable, easy on and off over clothes, and great range of motion. Also have slid/fallen in these at high speeds multiple times and they hold up well, no damage or bruising to my knees at all.
I dig the Alta FLEX line.
Here is a pair i got on amazon
The top strap is elastic while the bottom is not so it doesn't cut into the back of your knees. I really like them because there is no velcro and they are quick detach.
I had some similar issues when I started out and ended up buying some compression sleeves for my knees (and taking a couple of days off). So far they've helped a lot and my knees have gotten a lot stronger since then so I probably don't need them anymore.
That said, if it's not gone after a couple of days of rest, definitely check with a doctor.
I wear knee sleeves under my pads. They work great. Wear them for squatting, too. Look at my profile and see my recent squat video too see them in action. I’d say look at my skate posts, but they’re under the pads.
Here’s the one I use, from Amazon amazon link
Less than $20. Keep at it! 💪
I got these cheapo ones from amazon, mainly to save my shins from the pedal pins. They've been great and actually saved my knees during a crash recently. Looks like they're currently out of stock but there are plenty of similar options on amazon.

Search for Fox Titan pads on Amazon. There is a more expensive 2019 redesign but these have been great for $20. The top being loose is awesome as there is basically no movement restriction on the knee but still provides great protection when going down.
Fox Racing Titan Sport Knee/Shin Guards - One size fits most/Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E9SOVW2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rVM.CbG142TMK
Have worn that style for about 2 years and love it. Have some heavier Demon ones for bike park and heavy stuff, but the light ones have been great.
This is the wreck that made me start wearing leg protection all the time, warning GORE:
I like to wear compression knee sleeves during the entire hike. It helps stabilize the knee joint and lets me go a little longer without feeling pain. I also recommend using poles, since they can take some of the weight off your knees.
Alta Kneepads are my favorite hands down, and I’ve been through many. Even more comfortable than any crye or UFPRO. That said, any knee pad ever is prone to sliding around. Usually only a small issue, but it’s enough that I’d save up for tactical pant with built in knee pads. Of the built in knee pad pants, I like UF PRO best. Expensive in US, but good comfortable stuff.
these shin guards
i would get the catcher chest protector, something like this
since it's cheap investment to protect your chest and your medical bills for the just in case moment.
I was feeling pain on the inside of my knee (MCL) and purchased this guy to help. I was concerned that the added bulk would be an issue, but I just strapped my knee lock a little looser and everything was fine!
