I am in the South Mountain area, and see it online in the neighborhood app quite frequently. A good Security Camera if you own/rent a home might help as well, Apartments, it's going to be harder. Also have the VIN of the car engraved on the Catalytic converter. It then becomes worthless to try to sell because it is serialized.
Sorry to hear that, there are multiple types of cages like the one I've attached that will at least make it more difficult to steal.

3m makes a clear vinyl that goes on really easy. Here's an Amazon link to the stuff. You can get it other sizes as well, that's just the first link that popped up. I've used this stuff on so many projects that I just keep a roll of it in my workshop.
It'll protect the art on the plate and cut down on the nose quite a bit. I'd also suggest putting some stick-on cork on the bottom to protect any wood furniture and to further cut down on noise.
All of that out of the way; that looks awesome! My wife made me something similar shortly after my first daughter was born and I use it every single day.
I have the 3M Paint Protection Film under them, basically cut to shape maybe a little bigger. Then apply the PPF and sticker goes on top
Also pro tip: I used the leftover PPF on the foot bottoms of the rear doors. I got kids and just by looking at the PPF, it’s definitely protected the car every time the get in and out.
Something that may help: They make these cat shields for most makes/models which cost $100-$200.
May be worth the investment, especially for those who have had this happen at least once.
I use little pieces of 3M Scotchgard film to protect my frames from cable rub around the head tube. You can find it in larger or smaller quantities and cut to size. I feel your pain. Try going to a hobby store and get some matching paint and clear coat to fill it in.
I preemptively applied 3m vinyl tape on almost all over my bike including my forks to anticipate the paint damage. It's not too late...saved my bike plenty of times.
Thank you! My shoes are the Follies with the skinnier heel. I'm not sure if the regular Pigalles and follies have the same toebox or not but mine do look more like yours.
This is the link to the protectors I used, I had to cut the paper myself but it supplies more than the ones already cut. Shoe Protectors
They don't much like WD40.
I'm testing out Fluid Film for such applications. Everything coated with that stuff, and I don't think anything would want to live there. Hasn't been long enough to be sure yet. Plus it won't rust.
I ordered my cat cover online, then went to darrel’s economy mufflers to get installed! It worked! It’s been a miracle. With my Prius, I know it would have happened again and again if not for this. I think it’s specific for Priuses though. This is the one I got: Cat Security - Catalytic Converter Protection shield, Fits - Toyota Prius 04-09 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087D8ZSV8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_28DTD6A5AMX7HKMDR7ND
I think I posted in your other thread. What about instead of spraying clear. Why don't you just put some clear 3m vinyl on the top tube instead?
uj/ Not gonna lie, I use this 3M Paint Protection Film on my watch bracelets.

I put it on the clasps since that's the part I always end up fucking up. You can't even tell it's on there from anything more than "bad breath distance."

This stuff is amazing and a while lot cheaper, and not that difficult to install. I did it to my bike back in December.
YouTube installations videos to get comfortable
They make inexpensive sprays for this: https://www.amazon.com/Fluid-Film-11-75-Spray-2-pak/dp/B008T8CXGY/
I would stay away from rubberized coatings. You can see this example of how they can wreck the metal by trapping in water and not allowing it to breath: https://youtu.be/nXvl9nt57Kg
Our friends were one of the 100 vehicle owners hit in that spree. They sent us a link to a catalytic converter protector to deter thieves:

2004 to 2008 or so? This happened in west asheville over the summer.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087D8ZSV8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 will make it tough for them to get to it.
I have that bike. Be careful with the cables on the front of the frame, they will scratch the paint.
I bought this to slap on it there to protect it

That is way too expensive. Buy 3M Scotchgard and cut it to fit.
I won't say it's never happened, but I worked as a bike mechanic for years and never ran into housing that failed from rubbing on the frame.
I'd get some nail polish that matches the frame fairly well and touch it up. Then put 3M helicopter tape on the area (turn the handlebars back and forth to see all the area the cable hits) and you'll be good. Another good spot to put some tape is on the crankarms where your heel brushes them, and on the top tube if you're going to run a top tube/bento bag.
Here is the one I used. Honestly I don’t care what paint you have gravel dust will scratch anything. Good luck.
Just got a miata a couple days ago too, and it's almost rust-free. Really worried about it now. Something like this?
Would water from a garden hose be good enough to spray it off before hand?
They don't care if you're an obvious 'Tesla' that is obviously electric, much less a Mach E that some might know is electric. If you don't have the sticker, you pay the fine.
I've read about some (with a Mach E) that have their stickers in the glovebox and got pulled over, they still got a ticket because it is supposed to be displayed, and no, putting it on now doesn't count, that just means you won't get another ticket.
/Get some DMV shaped PPF stickers and put them on that way. They're only good for 4 years, and you can't get another set. Once expired, they'll peel right off with no residue.
Did you put it on yet?
I used PPF stickers that fit mine so it'll come off much easier when they expire.
Had mine stolen off my Prius last summer. Bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/Cat-Security-Catalytic-Converter-Protection/dp/B087D8ZSV8
Had the dealership install it after they put my new Cat back on, which took like 3 weeks because of the demand.
I've had success thus far! Parked my car in the same spot - an off-street driveway that's in pretty plain site. Keeping my fingers crossed. Shit was a PAIN and of course I got hosed with Geico because I wasn't paying for the right insurance stuff. If you're legit worried, you can add comprehensive theft coverage if you don't already have it and potentially save yourself like a thousand bucks should this happen to you.
Good luck out there!
You could use this: https://www.amazon.com/Scotchgard-Clear-Paint-Protection-48-inches/dp/B004VG88MQ
If you have a matte finish I dont know if it would look ok, or damage the paint.
Just a thought.
I’ve been using the 3M stuff (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VG8DS0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) and cutting it to fit myself on my bikes for years. Works really well and it’s cheap so if you mess up just (carefully) peel it off and cut another one.
Try PPF, you can pick up a roll from amazon pretty cheap.
We put it on our door sill, not sure how it'd work on the plastic parts.
There are other things you could install under your car that are intended to deter thieves without attempting to injure them. If you don't have the equipment to weld it yourself, your local auto body shop might help.
They sell them for the prius which get targeted and thieves just tear them down or cut through, with a reciprocating saw and/or angle grinder it isn't much of a deterrent.
This is just one model, I'm sure some version/brands are better than others but if it worth enough some metal isn't going to stop you.
