In a pinch I've used rack shelves from places like Fry's. Is that an option? Something similar to: https://www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-Cantilever-Universal-Heavy-Duty/dp/B01C9KYUG8
Just get a rack shelf off Amazon. $20.95, I've got two at the house and two at the office. Comand strip devices to it so they don't move.
NavePoint Cantilever Server Shelf Vented Shelves Rack Mount 19" 1U Black 10" (250mm) deep https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008LUW49G/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_7TsnwbWNCDJJX
I use something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Pyle-Circulation-Cantilever-Universal-PLRSTN14U/dp/B01HTG4WHY
It's not the exact one I use, cause I had one lying around, but this should work. I bolt my controller and router to it via the little screw slots on the bottoms. It looks pretty nice.
From their dimensions you can easily mount 2 per shelf. Something like this would work nicely: https://www.amazon.com/NavePoint-Cantilever-Server-Vented-Shelves/dp/B008LUW49G/
I bought a generic rail set off of amazon or ebay (can't remember), but it sucks pulling it out and pushing it in and almost broke the 1st day. I ended up removing the rails yesterday and replaced with this temporarily https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XXDHPEU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/NavePoint-Adjustable-Mount-Server-Shelves/dp/B0060RUVBA
I use something like that when I don't want to buy rails
I can use them for switches, 1u, 4u, whatever. The same set can be used on any new equipment, too.
It's not, as others have already said. A 1U rack shelf could be your friend in this case.
There are a few universal solutions that you could look at.
I see Cyberpower have a 4-post rail solution on amazon. https://www.amazon.ca/CyberPower-4POSTRAIL-4-Post-Universal-Silver/dp/B00TCELZTK/
I am also a fan of these super generic APC rails. If you need, you can knock out the nuts to bolt them more securely. Just look for APC 756H as there are a few different versions.
In the past I've just used a junk 1U switch, or a rack shelf flipped upside down.
Not sleek, but $20 vs $300 for the setup.exe: https://www.amazon.com/Pyle-Circulation-Cantilever-Universal-PLRSTN14U/dp/B01HTG4WHY/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1H8F69B2T062F&keywords=1u+rack+shelf&qid=1669665204&sprefix=1u+rack+shelf%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-3
Tucking it in a closet is always easiest.
Otherwise, lots of velco and take your time. You can also get a little shelf for your equipment, like this - https://www.amazon.com/Pyle-Circulation-Cantilever-Universal-PLRSTN14U/dp/B01HTG4WHY/ref=asc_df_B01HTG4WHY/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309804813335&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13577899093925525825&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9002365&hvtargid=pla-493613121783&psc=1

Your plan sounds solid. Just make sure to take your time, especially if its a high visibility area.
You can look around for a cheap used rackmount shelf. The downside of a shelf is it will typically eat up 1RU. The other thing you can use is something like theses shelf rails
I had the same issue with my ups as my rack is too shallow for proper sliding rails.
Went with something like this and it works fine. Not pretty but just put your shelf on it and your UPS shouldn't move at all.
Maybe do the same for the PC to lay it down on one side so all the connections are at the back? Might look a bit better. Also you could add a keystone panel on the back where you feed the cables in - that way you can plug/unplug stuff without crawling into the rack. At least if the cable slot on top is big enough to get your hands in ;)
If you cant find something from RackMountIT Just buy a shelf and velcro it down or command strip it. Something like below.
https://www.amazon.com/NavePoint-Cantilever-Server-Vented-Shelves/dp/B008LUW49G
I used a rack-mountable shelf similar to this. You just need to check the measurement and make sure you case will fit on it ok. https://www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-Cantilever-Universal-Heavy-Duty/dp/B01C9KYUG8/ref=asc\_df\_B01C9KYUG8
I couldn’t find any rails that worked for the Hyve or Synology’s in a short depth rack. So I purchased these rails below and they worked wonderfully
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TCELZTK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The rails aren't the ball bearing kind, so the UPS doesn't slide easily, so you could also just get some generic L-shaped mounting brackets instead.
I dont have any major issue with the rack, i also dont have server rails.
NavePoint Server Cabinet Case 19 Inch Rack Mount DJ Locking Lockable Deep Drawer with Key 2U https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009WS7TSW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_1HSMP1JHXFFZHD1BXBS2
my navepoint drawer has grommets in the back for running wiring. however it doesn't have an arm, so make sure you secure them properly so they don't get yanked out when you move the shelf.
I have 2 Rosewill 4U rack cases like in the picture. I originally used the Rosewill sliding rails. It was a pain and I had to have someone else help me hold up and balance the heavy server to click the rails in.
Later I decided to try these server shelf rails and they work great! The main thing I like is that I can mount my server without any help with balancing a heavy server. The only downside is when I want to work on it, I have to pull it all the way out of the rack since you can’t pull it out very far before it tips forward, but I don’t do that very often. It’s more important to me to be able to install it myself into the rack.
When you use those server shelf rails, you just need to make sure you mount the rail on the backside of the front post so that your server can be mounted flush on the front side. That is the trick to screwing it in.
I use these in one of my racks, which is similar.

You have two options.
AC Infinity Vented Cantilever 1U Universal Rack Shelf, 10" Deep, for 19” equipment racks. Heavy-Duty 2.4mm Cold Rolled Steel, 60lbs Capacity https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C9KYUG8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_D94H7WRM714DW0E0T0W3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
And use the slots to tie down the MX.
Cisco Meraki MX68 Cloud Managed Security Appliance 5YR Advanced Security License Bundle with Rackmount Kit (MX68-HW+RM-CI-T6) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0881X5V41/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_ZJ5G8QH2PXM86RN42BWX
Their website doesn’t list an MX75 yet but the 68 may work.
These for single rack items, and these shelves for multi and empty spaces for now.
The problem with them is there is no was to secure the equipment to the shelf, so i have my mounts in use still to hold them in the front, and the shelves have lips below so spacing can be a pain.
It sounds like he has a real rack, and is looking for a shelf that mounts from front to back. This exists, but really isn't too much cheaper than application specific rails.
https://www.amazon.com/NavePoint-Adjustable-Mount-Server-Shelves/dp/B0060RUVBA might be an option.
Can get an adjustable generic rail kit that is essentially just a shelf. Just make sure it will fit your depth. Looks like you’re pretty much at max depth already.
Something like this. https://www.amazon.com/NavePoint-Adjustable-Mount-Server-Shelves/dp/B0060RUVBA
I found server shelf rails to be useful and easier for me to install a heavier server by myself without trying to balance a server while clicking it into sliding rails. Just set the server on the shelf, slide it in, and screw it to your rack. Not sure what the weight limit is. Also you can’t pull the server very far out of you plan to tweak something without taking it off your rack like you can with rails but it’s a trade off that’s worth it for my use case. It’s also cheaper than sliding rails so that is nice too.
I bought the Rosewill rails and if you have the server loaded with hard drives it’s very difficult to install the server into the rails on rack. To line up the rails and click them in while balancing a heavy server is not fun.
Then I decided to buy shelf rails which are cheaper, easy to install, and way easier to install the server. You just sit the server on the shelf, push it back flush against your rack, and screw in the server to the rack. Never going back to the sliding rails. The only disadvantage is that you can’t slide it out all the way to work on it while it’s in the rack (you can slide it out part of the way without it falling out), but I’m ok with that because if I need to open it up to do hardware changes, I can just unplug it and set it on the ground or table. Since I have hot swap cages, I don’t need to open my server often.
The shelf rails: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JZCWX3Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_QYPPZXXGD374RXVXY6XG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have the same problem with a short rack and the standard Dell rails don't go that short. I bought a NavePoint Adjustable Rack Mount Server Shelf Shelves Rail Rails 1U. It is rated to hold 50kg and only AUD$60.
If I mount this shelf into two wood studs with long screws, should it be able to handle approximately 15lbs of weight? It is meant to be mounted into a server rack but my home rack is vertical, so I need to find a way to get this mounted to the wall. My concern is the cantilever effect where the weight will be fairly far from the wall. Thanks!
